I really hope you continue posting videos.I just found your channel yesterday, and have watched the sourdough starter, the sourdough bread, and the yogurt, Please continue sharing!!
Good morning, I agree with you absolutely, our own seeds are adapted and it makes us independent. I harvested onion seeds last year and froze them after drying them. This way they last even longer. By the way, I learned this from DIYseeds - seeds are public domain - on the Internet. All the best! Ursula
Excellent Advice as Usual. my biggest problem is mixing the Pepper Seeds!! mostly not labeling at all and thinking i will remember the Dried things name!
Last year I purchased a certain variety of squash but what I got was a mixture of hybrid seeds. I saved seeds and replanted them. I now have three types I'm selecting out from the original pack. Might take a few plantings before I have developed heirloom quality.
I have always bought plants in the past... With the situations in the world today I have been wanting to purchase seeds but now I definitely want do start saving seeds... Thank you for posting this video... I might have missed it in the past, but have you ever done a video on crop rotation ?
Maybe in some of the very first post my dad may have spoken in it. He would rotate crops and livestock, but I don’t think that I have done one yet. I’ll put it on the to do list.
Just a suggestion. Some of my family puts their dried seeds in a sealed sandwich bag. And they write the date of bagging and the name of the plant on it with a marks-a-lot.
I found your terminology for a mixed breed dog funny. Not being rude but I'm in Alberta Canada. We have such different terminology for things then you folks in the south. We call curs mutts up here. Many difference in our terminology. I'm sure you folks chuckle at us Canucks lol. Aside from that pointless comment you have good videos. Good information. I post them on our regional farm and homestead pages as well as provincial pages. Albertans like them.
When I went to save some squash seeds last year, some of the seeds were nicely plump while others were rather flat. Does that affect germination or plant vigor?
Luck of the draw. I always plant several seeds in each cup so germination is not a problem but if the seed is under developments or drought stressed it is less likely to germinate

This is a must to becoming more self sufficient. So is having the tools and know how to fix things.

You are always on point Mrs. Marandia.
I just started following you a couple.weeks ago. I am trying to start a sourdough starter. 🤞
I also collect from wild plants. Wild cress and mustard are really good to use.. 🙂
interesting, in light of attending a farmers conference last weekend and taking a seed saving class first thing.❤
Just getting started so this was very interesting & informative. Thanks❤
Great suggestions. Thanks

Is it the same process for any seeds or only certain ones?
