After Peugeot bought Chrysler's European operations in the late 1970's, they revived the Talbot name to sell the existing models that were formerly known as Chryslers in Europe. As well as the existing models, a new model was the Tagora, which was designed as an alternative to the highly successful Peugeot 505. The Tagora was a 6-window, 4-door sedan with a choice of engines - a 2155cc four, a 2304cc turbo diesel four or a 2664cc V6 Douvrin unit, coupled to a Peugeot transmission. The ride was considered on the soft side, while the ungainly and bland styling was also not well received. Just less than 20,000 Tagoras were built in three years before production ended.
I don't mind their design whatsoever. To me, it was anything but boring. The only complaints I have concern that obviouse to see narrow rear suspension borrowed from the 505, the carburetors with manual chokes and the unavailability of the automatic transmissions and fuel injection system that the Volvos 262s using that very same engine were offering. That still would not have stopped me from buying that comparitively expensive vehicle. Sooner or later, I would have updated it, using Volvo parts

Et j'en oubliais le rideau de fer sur fond de miroirs géant du début, la course en chantier avec les camions de 40 tonnes, le bunker souterrain du Docteur No, l'oeillade complice à la BMW qu'il dépasse à 3.20 et la claque un rien méchante du papa au fiston de 5.36. Mais le coup du sanglier reste mon moment préféré.
I had a Tagora 2.2GLS from 1996-1997 and it was my favourite car I've ever owned, and I never saw another one all the time I had it. I so regret selling it, when I heard on the radio a few years ago that there were only 2 left in the UK!
The Tagora was actually going to be a bigger project than what it became - In Australia before Chrysler Europe's takeover the Tagora was intended as a replacement for the Chrysler Valiant... A Tagora today would be a rare wilderbeast indeed - particularly as there were not many of them built to begin with...
How can it be mixed up - the Tagora is a much larger car for starters... Then again, the car the Tagora replaced, the Simca 180, did look incredibly similar to the Hillman Avenger (they were designed by the same people)... Of course the Avenger was much smaller...

Client Simca !! 2x 1100spécial-- 2x 1100 fourgonette-- 1x Chrysler 2litres-- 1x 1308GT Deze wagens werkte steeds zonder merkenswaardige problemen. Voitures SANS problèmes.
tagora V6 carbu weber >>> qui connait les modifs usine sur les carbus ??? lorsqu'une tagora repassait par la station de l'usine (le garage pour les salaries) il y avait un jeu de carbus modifiés à l'usine et les carbus étaient changés à l'insu du propriétaire ? Source : un réceptionniste de la station
I have a Talbot Tagora 2.2Gls from 1981 with a friend of mine, we share this car together, bought it in januari 2008 in France... its a remarkable car, a shame nobody almost knows the brand Talbot anymore

On voit cette pub machiste et démodée mais il faut se rappeler de la pub Audi il y a quelques années (2008 je crois) qui disait "Il a la voiture, il aura la femme !" J'en suis tombé de ma chaise quand je l'ai vue pour la première fois.
il faut vous démarquer, vous éloigner de l'idéologie progressiste, sinon vous allez finir complètement traumatisé ! Ben là en en voit les dégâts dans votre commentaire. Redressez vous ! vous êtes un homme non ?
J'aime bien, rouler a plus de 200 km/h ne pas attacher les enfants, doubler sans visibilite , la securite routiere a l'epoque c'etait bof quoi ! Bonne voiture mais bien moche quand meme !

Ma Tagora 2,3td tourne comme un horloge. 400.000km, juste un petit peu de rouille. Voiture exceptionnelle.

Very underrated automobiles.

180 sur l'autoroute , pas de ceintures à l'arrière , c'était une autre époque
il y avait des ceinture, mais encore non obligatoire à l'époque ( à l'arrière)
