We have one unit SX from 1982, here in Spain. We drove the car few years ago, now it is in the garage because lack of parts (mainly the linkage of the screen wipers). When we drove it, we tought something was wrong because the sound. But from this video now I know it was the right one!

After Peugeot bought Chrysler's European operations in the late 1970's, they revived the Talbot name to sell the existing models that were formerly known as Chryslers in Europe. As well as the existing models, a new model was the Tagora, which was designed as an alternative to the highly successful Peugeot 505. The Tagora was a 6-window, 4-door sedan with a choice of engines - a 2155cc four, a 2304cc turbo diesel four or a 2664cc V6 Douvrin unit, coupled to a Peugeot transmission. The ride was considered on the soft side, while the ungainly and bland styling was also not well received. Just less than 20,000 Tagoras were built in three years before production ended.
I don't mind their design whatsoever. To me, it was anything but boring. The only complaints I have concern that obviouse to see narrow rear suspension borrowed from the 505, the carburetors with manual chokes and the unavailability of the automatic transmissions and fuel injection system that the Volvos 262s using that very same engine were offering. That still would not have stopped me from buying that comparitively expensive vehicle. Sooner or later, I would have updated it, using Volvo parts

The camera is obviously mounted right at the front and low down, possibly in the grill aperture as the shiny thing at the bottom of the picture looks like the top bumper trim. It sounds odd as you can hear all the under bonnet noises too, the valve train, induction, etc etc. That is why it sounds a bit odd, and the volume seems to be distorting the camera mic a little.

Je n'ai plus de regrets..... depuis mai 2012 j'ai ma Tagora. Chassis et moteur OK carrosserie 9,5 sur 10 interieur à refair et.... encore une Simca - Talbot de plus sur les routes d' europe. Dan toch een Tagora op de kop kunnen tikken ! mei 2012 en de GLS staat op de oprit. Onderstel OK, koetswerk 9,5 op 10, motor etc OK, binnenruimte volledig aan 't vernieuwen... na dertig jaar wel geen luxe. In 2013 zal Tagora terug rijden.
Keeping a 604 GTI 2.8 Aut. 1985, a 505 V6 Aut. 1989, a 605 SV 3.o 1991 and a 605 SV24 1990 - but the PRV6 with the biggest fun was the Tagora SX that I had in 1995, only the 605 SV24 makes comparable fun to drive - but nothing strikes against 6 Weber 40IT, especially not when you´re in need to remove the airfilter *haha*

Engineered in Britain by chrysler and reengined by Peugeot later. My tagora SX had a top speed of 298mph (and the wrong speedo drive pinion) but a fuel consumption of 5 mpg! Happy days indeed.

ah naturalmente il motore adottato in quest auto, il famoso PRV, fu modificato dai tecnici TALBOT, con il triplo corpo del carburatore al fine di ottenere ben piu cavalli rispetto agli stessi propulsori adottati in altre auto. Fu considerata ai tempi la berlina francese piu potente.
sentite che rombo 2.7v6 carburatore a triplo corpo 165cv, una chicca per lepoca. Auto dalla linea pulita, moderna ed essenziale, confort elevatissimo e dimensioni da vera ammiraglia.Certo se fosse stata valorizzata a dovere, avrebbe dato filo da torcere ad auto con marchi ben piu blasonati.Altro che ALFA6, LANCIA GAMMA, FIAT ARGENTA, PEUGEOT 604,BMW,SERIE 5 e mercedes 200 dell epoca,ovviamente senza togliere nulla a queste auto.
