As you may have heard, the most popular Android PS2 Emulator AetherSX2 has been abandoned by it’s lead developer, and it’s not getting updates. Infact, the latest build has freaking ads on it. There is a good news though, AetherSX2 has been revived under a new guise, now known as NetherSX2, and it arrives with several enhancements and modifications. NetherSX2 is essentially a modded version of its predecessor, AetherSX2, but under entirely new development. This revamped version brings a significant improvement that will be welcomed by fans: the removal of advertisements. This update also removes the PS3-derived bios checks and introduces support for custom application names, catering to users who prefer a more organized and personalized interface. Additionally, NetherSX2 includes a simple one-line patcher, allowing users to arrange their games library as they see fit. In essence, NetherSX2 retains the core strengths of AetherSX2 and it’s getting regular updates
I’m playing silent hill 2, 3 now in it, and it runs flawlessly. Amazing emulator.

The one I downloaded from the play store has absolutely 0 ads, says it has ads, but I've played a total of 20 hr and I've yet to see a single one. That said having an oled screen I would actually prefer to have low brightness ads filling the black bars on the side of the screen, to prevent burn in

@@RUclips_clibsAethersx2 run perfect for me too on my Odin 2. Just I have to figure out a way to play with 4 controllers in Android. I can only get 2 controllers working in games. If someone knows the way, please MAKE A COMMENT!
Nether revamp it. i download it yesterday. and most of my games, Rule of Rose, Naruto and god of war plays in 100% fps

@@gechogo i use, Redmi Note 11 Pro 5g. it has Snapdragon 695+12gb ram and i just update driver to github using Adreno updates and thats it

Unfortunately, the new development team has been quoted several times stating "they are only doing QOL (Quality Of life) updates, no performance improvements".
The QOL updates are nice and welcomed though. I really hope they get to improving the emulation side of things.
@@azurekite3870there's no apk because it's only a patch to Aethersx2 so it's harder than just click and download.
@@azurekite3870 RUclips tutorials exist for installing it. It's easy. It only takes ±10 minutes.
How to get games for nethersx2
I think AetherSX2 were still covered so many games, I don't need nethersx2. It's just doesn't give me any advantage

I'm playing god of war 2 on it. A little bit of a pain to get it figured out of your not tech savvy at all which I'm not but still was able put the apk file or what ever and the nether app together. Works perfect tho.
Tbh that is what emulation is about.You have to put in the time and research if you are not tech savyy and even then it's not too hard but a bit tideous.Some people bash on emulation for that either because they are lazy or are not willing to learn and search but considering the altenatives it's a good compromise.

the original never had any adds either! the lead developer left because a lot of people seemingly harassed him so he quit and gave the project to someone else who wanted to continue working on his creation

Touch screen is shite even on fast paced GBA games. Controller is needed.

Google PS2 bios download, I did this on an old e waste laptop with a clean install of win 10 back in 2018, grabbed it dump to a stick, scanned files then made about 10 copies , good idea to get PS1 as well.
Plenty of guides on here if you spend the time learning first.
