    Love every bit of the movie..I went with my granddaughters and we all dressed up I took along my original pony tail Barbie and everyone wanted to see her… the movie was charming and entertaining… there will always be the nay- sayers just because they like to complain. But anyone with half a brain should know WE Barbie girls are going to love it no matter what noises you make.😍

    I haven't seen the movie. My brother took his girlfriend and her adult daughter to the movie, and he said I would love it. I started loving Barbie in 1963, but I also loved Ken, Skipper, Midge, Ricky, and then Tutti. I have a feeling I might not be crazy about this movie.🤔

    For a new collector I would recommend any repro 60s Barbie. Some are easy to find and not that expensive. Reminding people not to concern themselves for investment purposes just to buy what they like..

    I have not seen the movie and if I do, it will be once it hits Amazon Prime or one of the free streaming services. I think adults have made Barbie out to be way more than kids ever could imagine on their own. And it's a real shame. I will be sticking to Life in the Dreamhouse, the best Barbie show ever made!

    Glad to see your take on the Barbie movie. I thought it was entertaining but strange. I liked Barbie World and Weird Barbie. I didn’t really go for: the little girls smashing their baby dolls and the lack of true vintage Barbie dolls - other than the black and white swimsuit Barbie at the beginning, were there any other ones? I have trouble believing that a character whose occupation is “beach” could understand and implement an instant patriarchy. Most of my club members didn’t care for the ending. Instead of going to the GYN, she could have been applying for one of the hundreds of jobs she has performed over the years! I don’t think Earring Magic Ken’s earring was what made him problematic. Also I had a Growing Up Skipper and didn’t find her all that unusual. I don’t think we need a second movie, but you know they love to exploit the money makers. I would love to see you do a video on how Barbie has changed over the decades - innovations in her design. Thanks!

    In Barbie World the Men are arm candy....loved it! There were very few Kens dolls in my day and maybe only one Allan because that is all we had growing up . I'm 62 and played Barbies growing up. Back then there were only 1 of each male doll. That's all we needed. I saw the Barbie Movie the day before it premiered, Thursday. I looked at it in several different ways. As a young girl playing with Barbie I didn't really want a Ken or Allen or any of the boy dolls over a new Barbie doll....still feel that way today in my collections. I mean really how many boy Barbie dolls do we have? Not many. It's ALL about Barbie and the boy dolls have no real place in Barbie world except at the beach and maybe a date. (as young girls think/thought) IMO. So if you look at it from our young girl play eyes the movie makes perfect sense. We had many Barbie dolls and very few if any Ken/Allen dolls. (I never owned an Allen doll and still don't and probably never will) If you're not a Barbie doll person or collector or didn't play with them when you were little than you're looking at if it from a different perspective. Maybe you don't understand that in Barbie World men don't need to be involved , If they are involved it's because Barbie wants them temporarily.... :) A tough concept I know. It is Barbies World and if we want men we have them if we don't we don't....makes sense to me as an adult too. It is empoweiring women and what's wrong with that? Nothing against Ken/Allen or men at all...we just don't need them when we play Barbie! It's Barbies world and that is that! I LOVED the MOVIE made perfect sense to me. Can't wait to see it again. So many ways to watch it and all of us are different ages and see it from different perspective. GO BARBIE GO! So HAPPY it's doing so well in the box office. :) Great video ladies. Love your review and all your dolls!

    I haven't seen the movie. I really wanted to hear your perspective. I may watch it when I can watch it at home. After the way they did the last Little Women movie, I do not trust Hollywood with anything I care about. But as my mom used to say when people complained about Barbie "People it's a doll". Did you know Alan was named after the real life Barbie's real life husband? When they divorced, they discontinued the doll. Loved this video! Thanks

    I loved this movie! It was cute and entertaining in so many ways. I agree that it would have been fun to have some other Barbie characters like Teresa and why wasn’t skipper in it? Apparently she escaped to the real world and never came back? Maybe it’s a story for another movie? Ha ha. I found an authentic weird Barbie at the thrift store with short purple hair! I thought Barbie behaved a little cold to Ken, which was sad. Overall I really enjoyed it and would see it again to find all the Easter eggs I missed. 🤗

    Weird Barbie was just a Barbie that had been played with badly. They didn’t need to issue one, go to your local thrift and there’s a bunch

    You guys are going to come up with the real scoop like nobody else Happy YOU are reporting on this. I always have an opinion on what i know nothing about as i haven't seen the movie. I am a Barbie fan from the beginning and imagine this to be a sexy farce on Barbie highlighting her bimbonic years? In theory a turn off to me but go with the flow and the fanfare that is accompaning the movie is a surprising hoot. For me, Bubblecut Barbie is not a narcassistic teenage fashion model but a classy, vibrant 40 years old woman who is maybe a Registered Nurse. She has substance and leads a fulfilled, exciting but ordanry life. When Malibu & Superstar arrived, for me, Barbie was shot. So, I paused your review at 3:54 to compose this as i was so excited by your reporting and imagine I will be back as it plays out...

      THAT is what I am looking for. No reviews are giving us the PLOT which is what would sell an ordinary movie for me. Amidst all the nostalgic Barbie camp what actually happens? i will say this move, so long in the making, is giving audiences far more than they ever expected.

    • @garywarmee4367
      @garywarmee4367 11 месяцев назад

      Ken has always been obsolete in every form. The original Midge, Barbie's best friend in the cutting edge two piece, two tone swimsuit is the one with all the charm. Alan got the axe, but he is the one with the face mold! "Better than Ken, right! beyond the first years, all the Ken's look like Superstar musclehead robots.

  • @Scotty-Z70
    @Scotty-Z70 11 месяцев назад

    i am not going to be seeing it. i know it's meant for an older audience, but the reason i play with Barbie is to escape an over-sexual world. it's nice to see an innocent smile, and after hearing that Kens were saying a dozen times "beach you off" ...it just made me sad. That's not what Barbie should be associated with. Barbie should sue the maker of this movie, like they did OOAK creators that defiled the name on their creations.

    As an old time Barbie fan, I found the movie insulting. It was definitely geared to the newer Barbies not the old original Barbies. I was led to believe they were going to include everything. They didn’t show the original dream house. Ken was her boyfriend. Women made Barbie not the other way around. It was insulting to men. The only Barbie I liked was Weird Barbie. Worst movie I saw this summer. I was also upset by the way they depicted the way girls destroyed their baby dolls when Barbie came out. We certainly didn’t do that. I was that generation. It was one big add for Mattel. My poor husband. Meg 2 was so much better. Where was her best friend Midge? She wasn’t pregnant all the time. Ken did have his own house at one time. Horrible ending.
