So that's why your zoo are so well designed. I should really pre-plan my zoos a bit more. So far I've just been using a magic 8 ball to determine what I build next. It's how I ended up with an 8 storey pizza pen in the middle of my giraffe enclosure.
@@DeLadysigner yeah its honestly a really good idea. One of the hardest parts of the game is the very beginning because you just don't know what to build first, but having a general idea going in would help. Or you be like me and just go with the flow and hope everything doesn't end up on fire.
Loved the video! I have a zoo challenge for you! You could do a number randomizer series on which you could use a number randomizer to choose the animals you add to a zoo based on the order they appear on the zoopedia. It would be really fun!
Ik wil je gewoon even zeggen dat ik heel veel inspiratie haal uit jouw videos. Ik ben altijd onder de indruk omdat je er altijd weer wat prachtigs van maakt! Dank je wel!
I just started playing this game after growing up with zoo tycoon and your videos are so helpful! I love all your insane builds they're really inspiring
I am really liking these informational videos. Very helpful. I didn't realize you had other tutorials. I just watched the ones on how to create domes and underwater viewing areas, also. So much good info. I'm not feeling so overwhelmed at this point. You show how easy it can be. I think it's my brain that makes it complicated! 😂 Also, you don't go too fast so people can actually SEE what you are doing and you explain well. You have fast become my go-to channel. Thanks!
Definitely a cool thing to see the steps that you followed. It’s also crazy to see how different it ended up being to the final design, with changes on the run being part of the process. Definitely keen to see again for the next series.
I really, really appreciate this. It's incredibly helpful to see your planning process. I will definitely be watching the whole series after this video finishes .😁
Thank you so much for this video! I've been so intimidated by the blank-slate nature of Franchise mode for a long time. I need guidelines in order for my creativity to unleash, I can't work with a blank-slate. But every single video I've watched about how to plan out a Franchise zoo has not helped. Until now. Your video finally gave me something I can do to plan out a zoo and make something happen. I've also decided to start watching your African Mini Zoo series for further inspiration. I was literally on the verge of giving up, and you may have just saved Planet Zoo for me! So thank you again!
I'm so excited finally getting a new PC as my current one is basically dying. (Its running Planet Zoo on the lowest settings) cannot wait to see my zoos in high quality and acturally see grass rather painted on (no 3d element) haha. This is super useful for me this episode as currently working on a Antarctica map for Christmas so very helpful thankyou as always! x
I put new world signs around my zoo and I write on it what I plan to put there when I plan a new part of my franchise zoos. Also terrain painting (like soil) is a good way to shape an habitat or plaza for example.
Just recently got the game and your videos was a big contributing factor in my latest obsession. I find myself thinking about building my zoos in the way of episodes, even if I'm not recording them. :p I'm also just starting my designing journey, really looking forward to getting more into the game and the details of the designs. Pre-planning makes a LOT of sense, I haven't even considered that yet, I'm just going with the flow.
Hi DeladySigner, when watching your gameplays, I've noticed that you're really good at making realistic dens/shelters, and I was wondering if you could make a video on how you actually do it, because I am terrible at it.
Y'all plan your zoos? I just throw stuff down where ever there's space lol. I have a question though. When you're planning, how do you know if the space you're planning to put a habitat in is big enough for the animal? Do you just kind of wing it? Or do you have a way to estimate how much space it needs from the area requirements in the zoopedia?
Awesome video!!! I say the hardest thing about this game is making an Indoor area. I hope they add like a c3rtain certain gate where if you connect all of the certain piece of wall together it makes an automatic building, kinda like how in Zoo Tycoon 2 we are able to make aquariums where if you connect an entire tank wall together you get a tank :) and I hope all animals in the world get added to the game, even if they're extinct in the Wild like the Barbary Lion or Hybrids like the Liger (sorry for repeating this animal, I love the Liger so much) so we can recreate our own Tiger King Park :)
I am so happy you think so ❤️ Really wasn't sure enough if people would find this interesting, so means a lot ❤️ I am sure you will enjoy the game a lot when you are finally able to play it QA ❤️
It is very helpful to see how you are planning your zoo, thank you for sharing with us❤. You are great at explaining it, even though I don't speak English very well. I would like to see more videos like this.😍
Love your tutorials! So so helpful, I learned so much! 🥰I plan out my zoos on my Ipad using Procreate, it’s easy to edit when things change. I just recently started doing this and it’s not only easier to build already having a plan but the zoos come out looking so much better! Your zoos are such an inspiration btw they’re mind blowing❤️
Thanks fo your videos, and tips! Personally, i plan nothing. i just let my imagination do the job as things progress. Sometimes i want to put a precise animal in a precise place and i try to build something nice. Sometimes i have a building shape idea and i do my best to integrate it the best i can. Some other times, it's a point of view i have in my mind that i try to reproduce. What helps me the most to get inspiration is the terrain shape. It helps a lot when you have an existing river, a lake or some terrain height variation. It's easier to imagine a nice point of view, or a building/habitat fitting in a scpecific place. I find it a bit unfortunate that PZ doesn't provide us with a bank of "realistic" virgin terrains.
Ooooh, we love a good excell spreadsheet! No sarcasm. I used this for my series of putting habitat animals in large exhibit boxes. Couldn’t have done/planned it without. 🎉 When you do the drawing part, do you ever put the habitats etc. on separate pieces of paper so you can move them around?
The Reptile house was the only habitat I basically drew seperately, so I have never made more drawings to move around :) but not a bad idea for people that like to make scetches of every habitat! :)
Heeey, amazing video, as always. Do you think you could make arctic or tundra and taiga series? You could use newly added red deer as a cool starting animal for it
Make a plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go of the rails, throw away the plan. 😂 (quote from lenard snart - the flash) moral of this story. Even when u plan it out it always ends up being different at the end.
My first fanchiese zoo was comubnity chelanges zoo. And at begining they did it mostlly back to back. And it ended being real mess, no plan at all. But what a beautifull mess
I work in a similar manner, without the sketching things out as I suck at drawing. I tried, but it didn't work for me. I have a big spreadsheet in excel with all the animal stats, including their main continent and biome. From there I make separate tabs for each project that then contains which animals will go in, in which section and in which order. So I usually do plan out which animals will be in the entrance area, in my reptile house, etc.
For my next Zoo I draw a sketch of the Zoo map on a paper. Nur just for now. I dont know how that is going to work, because I do Not Start Building yet. But what is very helpful for me. Is to think about a Zoo theme and After that Start Building. The next theme I use. Is Colorful Wood work. I‘m so excited to Start that one.
DeLadysigner, just thought you would like to know that your local zoo Rotterdam Zoo sent two of their female Asian Elephants to the Smithsonian National zoo in Washington D.C. as a gift!

I like drawing a rough sketch outline of the zoo in the world in the game using the darkest terrain paint colour.

If you don't mind me asking what type of compter do you use?
You can find my specs at www.deladysigner.com 😘
Planning a zoo on pen paper before even booting up PZ? Well that may be a useful idea.
Haha yes, I was sitting nice and comfi on the sofa with my scetch book planning this zoo out :P lol
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I start with the ticket gate, and then just go buck wild from there. I'm cool like that. Have a comment.
not me just realizing you actually have to plan things instead of doing random crap 💀
Oh no you dont have to 😊 do whatever feels good for you! ❤️
Planning and not planning a zoo are both difficult lol
Haha, YES ❤️
planning ahead whats that? ahahaha
Hehehe ❤️
i have a qallenge for you
And that is :) ?
@@DeLadysigner I challenge you to make a zoo in planet zoo with all the animals in the game (both base game and DLC) if possible
