Paul Rudd always plays characters kind of down to earth, happy to go lucky and seeing him being put to the test with him now carrying the weight of responsibility, gloves are off, time to get serious is a nice change of scenery for him as an actor and the character he is portraying.

The problem was never on the tone, it was the writing. The jokes of the Antman movies have always been routined, the materials never truly explore Rudd's range. I doubt this will either, even with a more serious tone.
@@ThePrinceofHisOwnKingdom The original story had Edgar Wright on the helm and they took his storyline, concepts and kind of expanded on it. I think Paul Rudd did some re-writes or something with Peyton Reed. I feel Wright leaving was probably wanted to be this individual contributor and not wanting to collaborate maybe as a team. Trailers always love to misdirect which is a standard routine but with now Kang entering the scene I feel personally the tone will change where you see a raw intensity where Major's Kang will bring the best out of Rudd's Scott Lang.
2023 is looking like a big year for Jonathan Majors. Staring as the lead antagonist in 2 huge Hollywood blockbusters ...much deserved success from a talented thespian definitely look out for this man to become a household name

I’m a huge marvel nerd but never had known much about Kang from the comics growing up, I had read up on him some years back and very much enjoy the concept of his character. I also didn’t know much about Jonathan majors as actor but he’s got this charisma about him and his performance that will throw a new element into kang that makes him enjoyable to watch on screen. That’s important for someone hopping all over the time stream and who we will see continuously lol. So yea I think he will truly “make” this character and I can tell he takes his job seriously which I like!

As a black man, he's the only reason I wanted to see this movie! I knew the others are great at doing what they do, big fan of Rudd, and Douglas because of all their different roles. Majors performance in this, and Loki is on their level. And we all know Hiddleston is a beast too.
It's Kangin' time! Lol. I LOVED Majors introduction in Loki S1 as He Who Remains. I thought he was fantastic ad am looking forward to all these Kang variants. As long as he doesn't kill Ant-Man or Loki. Paul Rudd and Tom Hiddleston are national treasures, don't hurt them! Can't wait for this movie!!
There is no way that Ant-Man survives this movie 😢. I would be seriously shocked if he doesn't die. *All of the "old" Avengers are moving on to make way for the Young Avengers, Thunderbolts, Midnight Suns, etc., and I seriously doubt Ant-Man will make it.* Having the multiverse open means we can always see one of his (and all of their) variants at some point, but I really think he's going to die in Quantumania. 😭

Been an Ant Man supporter since 2015 makes me proud for the amount of press and intrest its been getting. Usually the Ant Man films would tend to get overlooked, first ant man was between age of ultron and civil war and with wasp between infinity war and endgame this time it gets to stand in it own right.
This Ant-Man film will be an Avengers level event. Maybe the best movie of the whole phase 5.

And the ridiculous part was, there were always so many people complaining about things they didn't understand in *Endgame* and I gleefully reminded them that *they didn't understand Because They Didn't Watch Ant-Man and the Wasp!* I'm glad more people are understanding just how crucial his character is (and has always been!).

This Majors guy is so good at what he does. He is a true performer. His monolog to camera in Devotion was extremely impressive. (Though I personally found the film a little uneventful.) And that he is playing Kang, such a very layered character(s), just gives me hope. There is just so much greatness that can come out of this.

His performance in LOKI was phenomenal.
Even the way he talks of the character in this clip shows how deeply he thinks of his roles. He approaches things differently from most actors.

Man the Ant Man movies have always been so much fun, the evolution of Scott Lang over the years in the MCU, he’s definitely one of the MVPs of the Avengers, Jonathan Majors is one of the best actors today, excited to see him as Kang, he was really good as He Who Remains in the Loki show, Ant Man Quantumania is going to be special 👏👏👏🐜
Yup, I'm starting to have a thing for Jonathan Majors.. He's just so compelling. I love the way he talks and formulate things. Even in something like this, where he's trying not to spoil anything. He also seems to be a really intense guy, which makes the times when he relaxes and his smile lights up his face, all the more lovely.

I believe that Jonathan Majors hinted at what Kang the Conqueror's goals are during the film, which totally make sense seeing as how this is the Multiverse Saga and he is the big bad. He mentioned that Kang is a man isolated inside the Quantum Realm after taking it over and I presume he most likely rules over it now as a result obviously so yeah. Also, Kang wants to escape from the realm and continue spreading his influence further, but the only way he can do this is to find a special kind of device that was stolen. Once he gets a hold of it, Kang's dynasty can keep on growing until there's nothing left for him to conquer and he rules over the entire multiverse which ultimately is his big evil master plan. This chaos of course will now continue onwards from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania all the way up until Avengers: Secret Wars is released as we all know. With He Who Remains no longer alive and the Sacred Timeline shattered as a result, there is nothing stopping Kang from accomplishing these goals any more so yeah. He tricks Scott Lang into helping him by making an offer he simply cannot refuse, the years Ant-Man missed out on with a younger Cassie. But he actually has no desire of doing this whatsoever and just uses this as an excuse to persuade Scott, eventually turning on him, Cassie, Hope, Janet as well as Pym!
From an earlier trailer I thought Scott might be tempted into turning traitor, which is worse than dying. If Kang's primary motivation is that he lost a loved one, well he needs to get over it. I think he's got some kind of need to prove himself superior, as he may have found his time travel equipment from Tony Stark's invention a thousand years in his past, instead of inventing it himself. So instead of taking over the galaxy 1000 years from now, he's gone back in time to give himself an advantage. I think there's going to be multiple Kangs which we saw in the trailer, like one Kang asks Ant-Man to steal a key device or power source from another Kang. If Scott dies defeating one Kang, then there's an infinity of others, so I hope he brings back critical intel allowing the Avengers to stop the Multiverse War.

I think Kathryn spilled a little bit to much but I cannot wait to see her interpretation of Cassie as she is an amazing and talented actress. There's this chemistry and respect radiating from Jonathan that gives a really good vibes of what we might expect so I can't wait ☺️
i am looking forward to this antman movie cuz it looks so differently from the previous 2, this one looks so dramatic and serious mostly due to kang being the villain and he is one of the biggest reasons why i am so excited for this movie. i hope they do this kang variant justice and that he promises on the statement being the next big bad. so curios how it will end and where it will lead.

We definitely losing somebody. I don't think it'll be wasp tho because I can see her playing a bigger part in the next avengers movies. The only avengers movie she was in was endgame and it wasn't even that long of a role. So I hope she has a bigger part to play in the future

The San Diego Comic Con last July revealed a lot about Jon Majors' character.
Because, of course, not only will he debut as Kang in Quantumania, he will return in the next Avengers movie titled after right after his character, "Avengers: The KANG Dynasty".

If you haven’t, I highly encourage you both to look up the Books of Doom miniseries from Ed Brubaker. You’ll see how it could be perfectly adapted as a movie or even better, a series

Did anyone else think Paul Rudd seemed a little disconnected from the cast? Relatively little eye contact and he didn't laugh or smile as much as they did. It just seems kind of out of character for him as a person. Makes me wonder if Ant-Man makes it through til the end! Or, it could be that Evangeline and Jonathan were vibing so much with chemistry and body language, that it made Paul look kinda stale! Man, I can't wait for this movie!! I sure hope everyone makes it!!

Hell yes. This just brought my hype up so much. Phase 4 really let me down even with some of the solid content but everybody just seems so excited and also knows this is a turning point for the MCU and how much is riding on this films shoulders. I can’t wait
