They need to re - tool a production line for the 597! An improved version of the already excellent Scwimmwagen? That is a vehicle would surely sell all around the world. The internet, especially RUclips, has educated the masses on the subject of special vehicles. VW and Porsche history has gained a huge following, even most of us oldtimers never knew of the 597, common history in print form showed only the original type 1 based cars - Beetle, Kubel, And Schwimmwagen. Short story was that the factories producing parts such as bodies and 4 wheel drive components were destroyed. Believable enough, as there was a leap to the new, re - tooled Kubelwagen, which we know as the "Thing" (Safari, or Treker). Next was the equally interesting Iltis, but nobody even knew of this insanely good 597, a forerunner of all these modern side by side type of ATV... But this one (597), is amphibious, has original Porsche and type 1 heritage, and might even be made as road legal!
