@@sdgamer1860 That's the issue for me; the "crap they pulled" in my experience has almost all been complete BS and debunked by developers and/or things completely beyond what a consulting firm can do in the first place. I have had fun playing this game. I liked the level design, voice acting, combat and some of the music. Negatives; platforming feels clunky, sometimes it's hard to tell if a location is included in the level, story is forgettable, there should be more variety with your character build, your resource is very limited as Jake said and I don't like politics in a video game. I was craving souls-like with more storytelling. It's not top tier but definitely under appreciated. I would say if you have game pass and enjoy souls-like games, give it a try. My score 6.5/10
@@wilfredwayne7139 Sorry, there wasn't much of any distinction so I just read it as one thought. Ready to play it tomorrow. When I seen the price I set my expectations. I tried the demo and it was interesting enough I stopped early on so that I don’t have to double back and do everything for a second time on my Xbox. It’s been pretty installed for a week from game pass. There’s no other games out so why not.
I like the game , you can play for fun and don't get too much stress , or someone maybe like the game that you can die very often and get frustration , this game is focus on RPG mechanics , where you mixed your skills and equipments
I felt that the combat was really clunky in the demo so I just put it down. Maybe the full game has it fixed and as it’s on gamepass I guess it’s worth a retry.
I always try to see the best out of a game and be the most positive possible, but the more I see previews of this one, the more I feel like it has no personnality. I can't understand the art direction and the atmosphere the studio is trying to sell.
I think the devs have potential like I mean most of every game borrows from something else and it worked for Palworld. I love the inspirations they taken here like the God of war ragnarok like traversing, souls like bosses and graces, and has gunplay that doesn't seem too shabby. I think games like this are like a devs first steps and I think if they get to work again they can really churn out something solid. I think the worst part of this game is just that it's super generic in both title and characters.
Gave this a go after watching this (only a few hours in so far) - I quite like it. I do agree with the criticisms on the mantling/climbing that sometimes doesn't quite work properly. And also there are definitely times it feels like I should have avoided damage with a dodge but just don't, and it's clearly a game that's of it's budget. That said it's pretty good fun. I'm not a massive soulslike fan by any means but I quite like the sort of middle ground this has between GoW and soulslike games. And Flintlock Fantasy as a genre isn't all that much explored in video games and it is pretty cool as a concept. It's an enjoyable enough game. I also like that by the sounds of it it's not massively long and I was looking for a game I could just play and enjoy in between a couple of bigger games and this looks like it's ticking that box so far.
The dying-drop-points-recover system killed it for me. The one gimmick I despise in "modern melee action games," also known as soulslikes (since melee action games not trying to be soulslikes are almost dead).
No idea why people are bashing this simply because who was involved even if it didn't affect the game in any way. We've Hyped up lesser soulslikes in the past and this, while it has problems, looks fun for $35.

@@ChrisHMusic95 I can see where elex 1 was more epic. But e2 has some good structure and when invested many hours the story and side quests allure worth it
I don't play games like this, so even if it's a lot of recycled stuff from other games, it's all new to me so I'm having a good time. To be fair, I'm playing it on gamepass so I didn't have to commit to buy it or anything
Nope. Skiping the SweetBabyInc game
Glad this is on game pass
Third act was rush. Three boss in a row. And final boss is a mess. A joke. Killed him in my first attempt.
Doesn't look worth full price to me but i will play it one day because its from the same studio that made Ashen and i really like Ashen.
Nice, you were one of 600 people who actually played the game!
Something about the upgrades too is it makes you pick what you want and only upgrade that. Can't really expirament when you are destroying with the gun you've been upgrading the whole time.
Another game for an audience that is either a small demogrpahic or doesn't exist. Sweet Baby is one of the things that is wrong with modern gaming.
I heard another reason why people aren't bothering to buy it is because of who the devs brought onboard to help make the game. Also word is the Main Character was never supposed to look the why she does in the first place meaning she probably had a better and more fitting design than that
the character design is fine
@@blacksailsfan4life I'm not saying the design we have is bad. I'm curious what the actual design they were going to use was. At best the character Design is ok. If this was Dark Souls however I'd be paying much more attention to the Armor and Weapon Designs
@@sdgamer1860 I personally doubt it. The rumors I've seen have all just tried to make people mad at SBI (a consulting firm) for "race-swapping" the protagonist.
They don't have any real evidence and sound just like rumors about previous SBI projects that were debunked by the devs.
The protagonist was shown ever since the game was announced over two years ago.
@@lukeskywalker987 Given SBI's reputation and the crap they pull, there is a reason why people avoid the games they touch
@@sdgamer1860 That's the issue for me; the "crap they pulled" in my experience has almost all been complete BS and debunked by developers and/or things completely beyond what a consulting firm can do in the first place. They can't "force" anything when their entire job is to just make suggestions that the developers can choose whether or not to follow.
Sweet baby inc......
Nope nope nope.
Killed a game before birth once more!
Not every game needs to be the next big thing. We need more games like this that are flawed but still fun and have clear passion.
I cannot put this game down! Awesome blend of games like Hogwarts Legacy, Banishers, Elex, Greedfall, Bound By Flame, and even Enslaved/Kena (in terms of exploration/platforming). The detail in the world is breathtaking at times. I wasn't expecting much since it was free with Gamepass, but this is most definitely my kind of game.
I play it in gamepass and I like it. I'm a totally Bad at souls like games and this game is not really hard as the others in the Genre.
What I don't like is some graphical errors, like mirrors not working, shadows dont really stay at your character sometimes.
But I still like it
Never heard of this game
You must not watch showcases lol
It’s barely been released. Why would you? Lmao
do you know how many games are released each month?
Trust me ignore this sh1tty game it's not even worth being Heard
@@DJGaming-XSXperhaps he has more interesting and important things to do
Im liking this game more than i thought i would, only real complaint is losing multiplier to hits that clearly should have used i frames....
Great job sweet baby inc. As a stunning and brave lesbian of colour I can really get into this game.
Got to the party section of the tutorial tried for about 8 minutes to parry the enemy literally nothing worked uninstalled the game. Total black wash.
@@wilfredwayne7139 What does skin color have to do with you not being able to parry?
@@lukeskywalker987 notice how I mentioned those two things separately.
@@wilfredwayne7139 Sorry, there wasn't much of any distinction so I just read it as one thought.
"Black wash" doesn't really make sense tho, considering this is an original story instead of an adaptation and the MC's always been Black, as far back as in the official announcement trailer.
I mean I get quitting and uninstalling after having that experience (even as someone who's enjoying the game), but I really don't think it could be considered Black washed.
@@lukeskywalker987 see it however you want to it's a game set in the 1800s I'm sure there was plenty of black women in high positions in military. I don't give a crap someone's race I care about historical accuracy something that has been completely absent in recent years.
@@wilfredwayne7139 It's not historical though. It's Fantasy. Admittedly it takes elements from the Napoleonic era, but it also takes its pantheon from Mesopotamian mythology.
I want a new Army of darkness game
👍
Im so glad we are still getting games that prioritize graphics over gameplay.
Honestly i really like the game so far, story isn't perfect but it's neat. Kinda unique. Game sorta just starts though and it's a bit jaring. Regardless I think it's worth trying on game pass or on sale
i love it personally i really like Nor and Enki, not fond of Boz he's kind of annoying
Everything these days is just another copy of a copy.
I'm from the future. It flopped hard.
its meh
How did they go from ashen to this I don’t understand

A 20hr action rpg is right up my alley and the fact that it’s on game pass is even better!
Ready to play it tomorrow. When I seen the price I set my expectations. I tried the demo and it was interesting enough I stopped early on so that I don’t have to double back and do everything for a second time on my Xbox. It’s been pretty installed for a week from game pass. There’s no other games out so why not.
jake's voice is pretty tranquilizing. I love it. Love the game as well. still not playing it though
Add it to the pile of largely forgettable yet oddly satisfying 7/10 games.
I like the game , you can play for fun and don't get too much stress , or someone maybe like the game that you can die very often and get frustration , this game is focus on RPG mechanics , where you mixed your skills and equipments
Tbh before I play any game I always come here 👌🏻 Thank you!!
Love ya'll's reviews, they're so even-balanced, fair, and down-to-earth/REAL! Vibes with me perfectly! Happy Sunday ya'll too!

She can destroy the patriarchy and the white supreme pizzas , but still can’t get a date because she doesn’t have any cake.
I felt that the combat was really clunky in the demo so I just put it down. Maybe the full game has it fixed and as it’s on gamepass I guess it’s worth a retry.
I actually LOVED Banishers. 👍🏻
I always try to see the best out of a game and be the most positive possible, but the more I see previews of this one, the more I feel like it has no personnality. I can't understand the art direction and the atmosphere the studio is trying to sell.
I really tried to play this but it just felt so bad :/
I think the devs have potential like I mean most of every game borrows from something else and it worked for Palworld. I love the inspirations they taken here like the God of war ragnarok like traversing, souls like bosses and graces, and has gunplay that doesn't seem too shabby. I think games like this are like a devs first steps and I think if they get to work again they can really churn out something solid. I think the worst part of this game is just that it's super generic in both title and characters.
Palworld worked because it is so different than any other Pokemon game.
I've been digging it so far, I think it's a good first entry for a new IP.
Same. I just hope that it's not completely sabotaged by the Gamergate 2.0 brainrot.
