I just finished doing 8 plug replacement on a 2014 CLS63 AMG. Same setup, coils over plugs. I'll never understand why Mercedes engineers didn't make parallel engine bay walls, which would have left the same space front and rear to access spark plugs. Instead, they tapered the bay walls toward the rear, leaving minimal space. Anyway, using the proper tools makes the job easier, of course, but the plug boot on both sides at the back was a real challenge to remove. I found that heating up up the rubber with a heat gun helped a lot, making it easier to remove the boots. This was all done at 50,000 miles, and with a 10-year-old car... it was fun.
Thank you! Your clear, concise, and detailed video is really going to help me when I do this same job on my car in a few months. Again, thank you for taking the time to prepare it.
The lock at the top of the electrical connector simple came out when I push it backwards… I put it back. The next one was broken. The others were fine. Do you know where I can purchase the lock? I examined the housing and saw that the lock actually only made it easier to be removed. These plugs have never been changed. The car has 69k and it is a 2015 S550 4matic. Thanks for sharing your video.
