    I'm American and I'm glad our neighbor to the north is just as ruthless in combat as we are (if not more so in some areas). Don't think all Americans don't recognize the true might of Canada which is so often underrated.

      atx512htx713 Thank you! There should not be such a rivalry between U.S.A. and Canadian military forces as we are next door neighbours and culturally quite similar. U.S.A. and Canada have been partners in military operations since WW2 and continue to present day. I think people that get into these big U.S.A. vs. Canada military arguments are people that have never been soldiers but rather just play video games.

Early commando days was SAS and US. Canadian forces work and train with the Brits and Americans but we are our own deal. just like the CIA wasnt trained by americans
      at the beginning ( OSI) I think they were called but in WW2 Canada had the first Spy training facility and thats where the US got into the spy game. Dont sell canada short we may be small but we carry big sticks

      America was never 'owned' in Vietnam, not one military defeat was struck upon the United States, the war lost popular support domestically and we withdrew. Numbers speak for themselves, 60,000 Americans dead VS. 1.1 million North Vietnamese dead.

    I love when I hear Americans talking shit about our military. They seem like there always talking shit. Navy SEALS especially like to talk mad shit about our military, well JTF 2 is more skilled then the Navy SEALS. JTF2 is tier 1, SEAL's are only tier 2. SEAL team 6 is tier 1, same with Delta Force. The only reason Americans think our military is a joke is because they don't know about our special forces. Our military doesn't brag about our top secret special forces, and missions that they do. No one is suppose to know about the Navy SEALS. No one is suppose to know about JTF2, but they are way, way, way less known then the SEALS.

      Voy Toy To get in a pissing match over Sf is stupid. Canadians should be happy to know that in Afghanistan. Commander Rear Admiral Robert Harward, a US Navy SEAL, stated that the JTF2 team under his command was his first choice for any direct action.

    • @stOpSKYSC
      @stOpSKYSC 11 лет назад +9

      Voy Toy
      you do know JTF2 is the only other spec force that T1 US spec forces will allow on missions with them, right? robert harward (who is a retired SEAL) said that when he has the option, JTF2 is his first choice for any direct action mission.
      so dont be so quick to dismiss JTF2.

    • @JimmyG228
      @JimmyG228 11 лет назад +5

      Voy Toy JTF2 was responsible for capturing more of the Taliban high command officials in Afghanistan than any other Spec Ops unit in the world despite having been deployed in far fewer numbers than the SAS or any US Spec Ops unit. JTF2 is proven better than all US Spec Ops units, with only Delta being it's only real competitor for direct action. However I doubt any Spec Ops unit is better than the British/Australian/New Zealand SAS... In other words JTF2 is second to only SAS with Delta being close behind.
      Any denial or arguing of this FACT is idiotic & arrogant. I am a retried infantry soldier with a top secret security clearance & have "some" first hand experience seeing Elite & Spec Ops troops in the "field". I can't be more specific without violating the Official Secrets Act.

    • @MarcusObrian
      @MarcusObrian 11 лет назад +4

      JimmyG228 no disrespect...but I dont think i have to tell you how little your word means here without evidence that could confirm your claims.And considering that information is classified the claims your trying to make (at least the part of the SAS being the best) can legitimately be labled as false or untrue.
      But i have read the JTF-2 books that indicate that JTF-2 may very well be the best Special forces on the planet.
      Infact...i would say there sort of like a TIER 0 unit rather then a TIER 1 (thats my own personal title i came up with for them)
      the SAS have had there time but there are indications that suggest in todays world that Canadian special forces are the pinnacle of excellence in there field.
      tactics and strategies...technology and certain events...these speak for themselvs.
      And if youv had experience with Spec ops a highly dout youv associated yourself with JTF-2 in any way.

      Thats a misunderstanding, Delta were the ones who needed the SAS to work alongside with in the Gulf War 1990, hence why Delta were under Joint Special Operations Command (to study special operations requirements and techniques), US have worked hugly alongside the British in present day conflicts, as Tora Bora, the SAS, in conjunction with US and Australian Special Forces were operating in the western Iraqi desert.
      On the training subject, the SBS passed on their maritime expertise to strategic friends, as the U.S. Navy Seals and the Sha of Iran's Naval Special Forces in the Cold War.

      Where did you hear that?
      "These are the only Special Ops that will train or deploy with."
      You watch too much TV, because that is utter bullshit.
      DEVGRU, one of the United States' elite Tier One units, trains with Norwegian MJK all the fucking time. Also, what about all the task forces that we deployed with, Green Berets, SEALs, and Pararescue did a shit ton of work with Great Britain's SAS and SBS, Australia's SASR, New Zealand's NZSAS, Norway's MJK and FSK, Germany's KSK and GSG-9, Denmark's Frømandskorpset and Jægerkorpset, and, one of my personal favorites, Poland's GROM.
      US Special Operations TRAINED and WORKED with all of those listed above, I guess you're just ignorant.
      Get your facts right, dude.

      keepbman The actions of Tora Bora saw the SBS and Delta working together. However, the 'War on Terror' included the SAS working with TF-121 (now TF-88), a US-led team of Special Operations units tasked with hunting down high-value members of Saddam's regime as well as targeting Al-Qaeda. The SAS commit a full Squadron to 'Task Force Black'. One operation saw the SAS work independently as the US were focused on Bin Laden, Operation Trent saw an SAS team successfully attack an Iraqi Chemical plant.

    I dont know if anyone has ever noticed but ask almost any US soldier about the canadian army and they will say nothing but amazing and incouraging comments. And vice versa. They usually say they love it up here And love our military cuz se are so badass and friendly at the same time. Now i believe that there are so many people that (not only americans!) that underestimate the canadian forces because of our low military budget. I assum that things will change because Canada is starting so many projects And creating new teams like ENBP And CSOR And we will continue to expand! Remember we are all humans And all have the same capabilities And forces. Never underestimate your enemy! Or allies... And never judge a book by its cover.

      a day in the life....get up, have a timmie's, go on patrol, introduce yourself with a polite greeting, gently snap the neck bones, return home, go to the locked cupboard, unlock your rifle, go to the other cupboard unlock your ammo, insert the bolt into the rifle, go outside, get on your polar bear, ride out into the bush, sight the target, load your rifle, shoot the target, field dress the animal, return home and cut up the meat for freezing and storage, bbq up a nice slab of meet, clean your tools and lock up your rifle and ammo, go out for a drink, kick some butt then buy the looser a beer, return home. Of course this scenario would only happen if some dumb ass country came here to cause problems. We don't need guns to solve our problems we use our brains...guns are for hunting for food or maybe shooting some targets to keep sharp. Just a comment on the Canadian way of thinking we have no fear of invasion just don't look forward to the extra work when we could be playing hockey with our buddies.

      Ya if got sick of reading who was most badass so I tried to lighten it up a bit. We enjoy life and don't pay a whole lot of attention to our politicians because we know how the system works...make lots of promises, get elected, do whatever you want, get caught doing something you said you where against then make a bunch more promises to try and get reelected. I love democracy and if they where still offering the lifetime pension deal I would be running from prime minister or mp myself.

    @iKuname, i agree with your comment mostly. One thing is, we actually did fight eachother once, 1812, but of course we weren't called canadians then.
    The navy seals are a very well trained sf, but, JTF2 is actually preferred over the seals by the head of the navy. Maybe its because we're not as well known to the world like the navy seals. Either way, both forces could get the job done as well as the other. I agree with you that its pretty rediculous to be arguing about who's better, we're both on the same side and often work together.

    God all this belly aching at who's the better SOF
    Canada along with Britain, the US and all countries involved in previous wars have had their "SPECIAL FORCES" Canadians where part of Commando units alongside British troops these units became the future SAS who have the most experience, JTF2 is newer then them but has much experience and is just as proven as the others.
    You guys are commenting on various operations and which force selected which to work with. Britain and US in Iraq. Canada participated among numerous NATO and NATO Ally countries with the US in Afghanistan.
    One country picking another to work with exclusively could be on specific mission requirements, unit availability, numerous reasons and variables.
    To all the people saying they never heard of JTF2 and CANSOFCOM that's because they had a tight lid restricted to the military. I've seen the JTF2 posters for almost a decade, they were all over the RMC campus our other SOF units are even more concealed only saw posters for them in an obscure office of ASU Toronto.
    SOF don't reveal unit members or mission details unless necessary for security reason, to prevent retaliation and keep safe the members that keep us safe at night.
    Also there is the possibility none of the units listed are the best and there is a super secret unit a specter of a unit that is the best and nobody knows exists but if that's the case we will never know...
    I'm Canadian I joined the infantry reserve at 16 and am transfer to Naval officer in the reg force am currently in University, I have great respect for most countries militaries and civil services. I wanted to join JTF2 and CSOR when I was younger and I'd still like to but I also want a family and I can't have both (well there is a very slim chance it would work) but I will do Naval Boarding party while not an Elite unit they do exciting stuff and make a difference.
    This video is also made by the government of Canada and one of their best/highest quality most of their videos sit around 480p
