The Han Solo origin series too. When I hear they were doing Solo, I hoped so hard they were gonna use those books.
They would have gotten all their cameos, their brave and strong women, their feel-good story of freeing slaves and defeating bullys... it had it all.

@@KamalaKackles Even wiping out 100 solar systems wouldn't add up to more than a couple trillion. Let's be as generous with the numbers as possible. There are 8 billion people living on Earth. A planet twice as large could hold maybe 20 billion. Let's assume there are 5 planets twice as large as Earth in every known system (There aren't). Even with numbers so improbably large that still wouldn't amount to much more than 10 trillion. You'd need thousands of known systems to have a population close to reaching hundreds of trillions. Are there even 100 named systems in Star Wars canon? Planets?
There is no conceivable way 300 trillion people could be properly governed by a singular unified government. Any centralized organization would be impossible. The entire senate chamber shown in the movies couldn't represent even 1% of the galaxy's population. Wiki states there were 700 million clone troopers created. For comparison, 120 million people fought in WW2. On one planet. All the deaths in the Clone Wars combined wouldn't amount to more than a speck of dust in a universe that large. Can it even be called a war when only an imperceptibly small portion of the galaxy even notices it happening?
One problem that humans have is that we suck at comprehending large numbers. Trying to fit trillions of people into what we know about Star Wars completely breaks the logic of that universe. I know George Lucas wasn't thinking of a universe at that scale when he was writing his script. The only way that writer could have come up with 300 trillion dead was that he thought, "We need a really big number to make these bad guys look really bad." He had no idea what a trillion looks like. It makes his worldbuilding look amateurish and stupid. Like the other guy said, that's the sort of ridiculousness that belongs in Warhammer. Disney will fuck it up like so much of the other story elements they’ve completely screwed. Stick to the the NJO novel series and the comics that involves them and it’s better that way. Disney will never be able to bring in EU elements (in a fitting way) in to the complete shit storm they’ve made of Star Wars. Disneys Star Wars isn’t Star Wars.

@@thejesterofwoe7778 As someone who loves the NJO…I can understand. The series was too dark for too long before things finally turned in our heroes favor. Also ignore that other commenter. Legacy of the Force is the absolute worst Star Wars story of all time. It was so bad that the authors tried to fix it with Fate of the Jedi. It did not help.

Agreed. Disney was not the first to completely not understand what Star Wars is about.
Most authors just crammed their pet project story into the Star Wars lore.
      I remember "Truce at Bakura".
Could have made a decent standalone sci-fi story.
God awful plot for Star Wars.

The Yuuzhan Vong aren't Star Wars. Star Wars has a certain style, asthenic, call it what you will. The crappy Yuuzhan Vong belong in crappy 90' Star Trek or similar TV shows. They don't belong in the Star Wars universe any more than Disney do.

They're the ancient Sith that achieved true darkness which caused their deformity, but they disappeared into another plane of existence, either through a ritual or hyperspace accident, and now they're back.
