I stumbled across your channel when I was first looking into homeschooling almost three years ago! I came for the homeschooling info and stayed for your cute fam, you guys are awesome and I love all of your updates!! We are using Blossom & Root this year for our spine and supplementing with The Good & The Beautiful for handwriting and Math Lessons for a Living Education for our Kindergartener. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your experiences with us, all of your insight has helped this newbie homeschooling momma :) Our favorite subject, between me and my four kiddos, is science!
I'm super interested to see more about the loop with dissent! I have concerns about history curriculum being so white washed and I know you've expressed the same. I think the photography course geared towards homeschooling would be amazing, btw!!
My favorite subject is Math. I just love all the creativeness that you incorporate in your homeschool classroom. Keep up the all the amazing thing you do!
My favorite subject was always music. Still enjoy it to this day. I am new to homeschooling and have binge watched all of your homeschool videos!! Thanks for sharing.
Subscribed! Following! I was one of those kids who loved school so much, I repeatedly asked elementary teachers for extra work. Thankfully, this evolved into lots of extra writing projects. I wrote stories and plays, made a neighborhood newspaper, cajolled friends into joining a story-writing club, and filled countless pages with sequels to my favorite books and plenty of original ideas. Words poured out of me like water. I'm curious to see what insatiable passions develop in my young learners!
I LOVE your idea of the ‘Descent’ loop basket! I’ve been wanting to do something like that with my girls but have struggled with exactly how to put it together. Looking forward to that video! Also, this is my first year homeschooling and I want to thank you because I was very overwhelmed with all the curriculum choices, but your videos have made my decisions easier. We seem to have similar ideas when it comes to educating our kids and we’re so excited to start this journey. 😀
History was my favorite subject in school. But we just started the G&B space unit and I’m in love. We have had to do school on the weekends because they can’t wait!
Long time subscriber and IG follower here 🙋♀️ actually I used to read your blog like 10 years ago too 🤗🤗 My favorite school subject is definitely history 😊😊
I love them all, but especially math and social studies! I’m going to Childhood Education at the moment and LOVE these videos! It makes my little teacher heart so happy 💘💘
Just found your channel through Natalie Bennet and subscribed right away! Always loved math and reading in school and can’t wait to homeschool our little guy.
My favorite subject in school was Art, but being I was public schooled I struggled in almost every other subject. Since switching to The Good and The Beautiful last year, Language Arts is now my absolute favorite subject to not only teach but learn alongside my guys 🥰
Science. I’m a science nerd. We started Writing Strands this year. I was IMPRESSED with Masterbooks at the convention I went to. I love the idea of the second looping basket. Please do a video when you have it.
I loved history! Even though I feel like I didn't learn anything now that I'm teaching my kids. 😜 I married a history major that seems to remember everything so I LOVE having him teach the little ones too. :) Thanks for this video!
My personal favorite subject has always been history. We are using The Good and the Beautiful's History curriculum for the first time this year, and I am so excited to get into it!
I got chills when you talked about the “descent” study you’re doing. So exciting and important!! My favorite subject in school was history, but only once I was in college. Before that I didn’t find it all that interesting. Maybe because my teachers weren’t all that passionate about it either.
I loved math! I still love it. I took advanced math classes in college for fun, which my husband thought was crazy. It’s definitely one of my favorite subjects to teach my kids.
My favorite subjects in public school were all the extracurriculars like Home Ec, Gym, Cooking, and art classes. My oldest is absolutely fascinated by science, though! She is so excited to be switching to TGTB this year!
Hi Angela, Thanks for sharing your curriculum choices. I have a couple kiddos that tend to get a little lazy with their handwriting too lol. My favorite subject in school was science. Especially the biology and anatomy aspect. I love your posts on Instagram, they make my day.
Would love to see an updated photography course! We are always looking for new elective options. My favorite subject in school was reading/literature & history. I am an avid reader, love learning about our world and our country, and hope to instill that in my girls. I would love to see a video about how you go about choosing the read alouds and independent readers that your older children do.
Done and done ! My favorite school subject has always been science but as I get older and more into my college career I fall more and more in love with history as well!
Chemistry, physics and marine biology were my absolute favorites in school. I’m hoping my kids adopt a love for them too, because teaching them will be so much fun!
Thanks for sharing all of this! It’s so helpful to see what others are doing. History and Literature are two of my favorite subjects. It’s hard to pick just one! 😆❤️
I love History too! I liked it growing up, but as I’ve gotten older I am just so fascinated with everything History! Definitely trying to instill that into our kiddos too!
I loved anything that was an elective. Photography was my favorite. But I also loved creative writing:) This is such a perfect gift! First time homeschooling mama and science is one of my lo's fav!!!
It has always been science and art but now that I’m homeschooling my oldest I am in love with history!!! We are doing meteorology and space science this year too :)
Loved Math in school. However I love teaching LA - phonics & reading. So fun seeing them learn how to read! It was the number one thing I thought I’d fail at in homeschooling. And now my oldest is in 4th grade and reads just fine & my 1st grader is doing great too!
My favorite subject in school was Literature, Science, and math. I pretty much loved school, except for P.E. My favorite subject to teach is surprisingly history. It wasn't my favorite in school, but I have really enjoyed going through it with my kids. I learned in a splatter patterns, but going through chronologically with my kids gave me much better insight into the whole of history.
That was awesome! I feel like our teaching styles are so similar and I love your picks! I can't wait to watch more. Here's to a great homeschool year 🎉🎊💕
My favorite subject when I was in school, when I was teaching public school, and now as a homeschooler is absolutely reading! Not the teaching to read part; that stuff is horrifying. But reading with my kids, watching their faces and they become immersed in a book, sharing books I love with them.....that is the best thing ever.
the timeline for the Good and the Beautiful starts their timeline in the second year and beyond not for the first. I was so excited to see they continue it for the third year as well and I think the fourth.
My favorite subject in school was astronomy.. We were given a choice at school to either study solid materials or astronomy for physics but since only two people put their hands up for astronomy, solid materials won (majority rules). So I ended up studying astronomy independently :)
Love these videos that you have out together. Although I'm not a homeschooling mama and our kids go to public school I think that these are great for them as well.

Hi Angela, this is my first year not homeschooling in 13 years. It’s fun to see the curriculum others are choosing! It’s all so amazing. Thank you for sharing. One comment, as a math tutor I want to give you a heads up about Teaching Textbooks. Many of the students I’ve tutored, and what I noticed with my own kids, is that there are a lot of holes in the curriculum. It seems solid when doing it but as the students went to upper levels and later completed college entrance exams the holes were so so noticeable. Two that have been solid for others are Saxon and Math U See. -> Again, thanks for sharing. I have told so many people about the Good and the Beautiful. It truly looks magnificent.
English was my favorite! I could not read (struggled with dyslexia) until I was around 11 and after it clicked I read EVERYTHING and loved learning about language.
My favourite was always History & English. I loved both lessons as I've always been a huge reader & loved writing my own stories. When it came to History I loved learning about castles, different eras especially Victorian England.
