Savage Slabs & Innsbruck's Hardest Boulders 🔥

  • In this video Toby goes through the grades on the Innsbruck boulder wall…
    Starting at the easiest (level 1) and working up to the hardest (level 9).
    The newly refurbished ‘Innsbruck Slab’ wall also had some world class slabs - some of which were set by Japanese setter Tsukuru.
    Filmed towards the end of a 7-day lead training trip around 10 days before the 2024 Innsbruck Boulder & Lead World Cups.

    It's crazy how easy Toby make all the 'regular' boulder problems look there. Stefano Ghisolfi recently did a video in Kletterzentrum and stated that he never even climed a 9-boulder there. Mind you, he has lived in Innsbruck for the past half a year or so. Gives you an idea how strong Toby really is.

    What a video. Really cool format, even if it kinda merged into an slab saga instead. The level 9s looked insanely hard and also insanely fun. That feeling where even though a previous day's endurance training knocked you out but you still have a great bouldering sess is just the best. Please keep making content like this, it's inspiring and really fun to watch. Good luck in Innsbruck!

    • @PPKFilms
      @PPKFilms 5 дней назад +2

      Based on my experience, gym grades are so widely different from rock grades that the v number would still be very different in each gyms. At some point you go to gyms and pretty quickly you see what is the equivalent between them and play in your grades 🤷‍♂️
      Grades are an indication of the type of experience you should be having (cruisy, challenging, project level…), the rest isn’t super crucial. And since you can’t use those as an indication of what to do outdoors anyway, it doesn’t matter what scale is used.

    • @colemantrebor6574
      @colemantrebor6574 5 дней назад +1

      If you go there I think you'll be able to figure out the grading ranges pretty quickly by climbing. When you climb a 6 you'll know if that felt like a 5A, a 6B+ or a 7B, and when you climb more 6's and 5's and 7's you'll start to narrow that down

  • @AmaniRafiki
    @AmaniRafiki 4 дня назад

    I like the content but the filming is not very good in my perspective. Don‘t want to complain or anything but it could be much more fun to watch if the camera angles actually allowed more immersion. I would like to see the holds in detail as well as the route as a whole better to understand each boulder.
