Brilliant. Its like watching Norm Abrams in New Yankee Workshop amped up on speed :-) A beautiful piece of functional furniture and its fun to watch it being built.
You make this look so damn easy lol, I just made some acoustic panels and had hell getting things squared. It all comes down to having the right tools to making the job smooth. Defiantly upgrading my tools. Have you seen the all in one table saws
Thanks. No I not a big fan of the all in ones. But for keeping things square your best option is to use a properly dialed in table saw sled in my opinion.
Amigo hermoso trabajo,no sé pero al entrar a la página de los planos no muestra nada de los planos, podrías ayudarme ya tengo los materiales pero las medidas me complica cortar y herrar, ayuda por favor, gracias muy amable Glenn!
+Robbie Timms I have posted "plans" for this on my website. They are not 100% plans but should be enough information to make your own. diybuilds1.weebly.com/plans.html
Coming here from SMG, I like good tutorials, so I subscribed. How much did he pay for that awesome desk? And how long did it take for you to build it from scratch?
+Johan Brodd Thanks. If Glenn isn't saying a price I am not either lol. It took me a good month to build because I have a day job and a newborn to attend to so there is very little time for me to work on things.
Where have you been all my life! (Ok, a bit odd, little creepy, but Thank you). I have been trying to build a studio desk and like messing around with woodwork and watching this has helped me see so many mistakes I have been making (though I wish I would have seen this before I started. Would have saved me a bit...lol). Great Job, excellent work and again, Thank you! (was this all done in 3/4 in CGP?)
Ahh, makes sense. Thank you!. I have learned a lot just from this video. Took me a bit, but found a good video explaining why you do a 'two pass' on the miter saw. I would have never know. Thanks again.
DIY Builds $700 for materials? Is that based on wood? Is there a different kind of wood you'd recommend that could save a few bucks? Not that it's a bad deal just curious
+Koedix Lol Ya I have maybe a total of $3000 worth of tools. I go cheap mastercraft mostly and my bigger machines are second hand off kijiji that I refurbish.
+DIY Builds Either way your standard of work and the cost of source of that knowledge also factors into the labor cost as well, so yeah. And that's a pretty cool way to get the stuff you need. I do the same with guitar gear. I take beat up and broken equipment and do what I can to fix it.
最良自由 The Argosy Halo is very similar and it's hella expensive. This desk could either be cheaper or more expensive, depending on how Mr. DIYBuilds does things.
Yeah yeah absolutely man. 😀 am just not a guy who likes black. Find myself having to clean it so much. Cause dust and is so visible and I like a nice vanished piece 😀
This is oddly calming to watch, good work!
Lol, Thanks!
Watch in Dubble speed.
Awesome job! As a music producer myself, I know how important it is having your set up "just right".
Sent by Glenn! This is incredible! Keep up the good work!
clean, nice job

+emcgon Thanks you. I try to move the videos along as fast as possible as I have a poor attention span myself. (1 months work in 9 mins)
Nice design.
saw the on Spector sound studio, very cool and talented work.
+Cave Man thanks
Nice one! Very similar to one I made as an alternative final project in woodworking.
Fantastic job
Beautiful work. You really know your tools
Badass... Rock and Roll!!

+Mtaalas lol ya here in Windsor since we're so close to Detroit we even use Fahrenheit.
The orgins of the infamous desk
This is awesome! Im happy to be subscribed to you
Thanks, happy to have you watching.

Fricker sent me. Good job.
This is better than porn.
+Koedix Well Idk about better but certainly a close 2nd.
+DIY Builds Nah. There's nothing like seeing a craftsman who really knows what he's doing using all of the proper tools to make something beautiful.
With all due respect to the awesome job done on this desk, if you think this is better than porn you're clearly watching the wrong type of porn :p
will you be posting the plans on your website? I love the design and I'm in the market for a new desk. (and Argosy is a bit far out of reach)
+Robbie Timms I have posted "plans" for this on my website. They are not 100% plans but should be enough information to make your own. diybuilds1.weebly.com/plans.html
+DIY Builds awesome, thanks! I'll definitely check that out
DIY Builds Link looks like it's bad.

No problems at all, I'm in the outlook for a new desk myself, that's why I asked. You certainly got talent. Good luck with your newborn!
yeah!!!
AKA Glens rant desk😂
More on the "business" side of thing: how do you price out a project like this when building it for a client?
+thisgoestoeleven I usually do things at material cost plus gas money because I'm making a video. But I would do double cost of materials total
What length or U size of rack rails did you use?
Not sure glenn bought them. Might be able to find out if you download my free plans and check on there.
@@DIYBuilds ok thank you! I used your plans and modified them for my own desk! Thank you so much for them!
I would love help in modifying this design to meet my needs, I have no problem building it, but design is not my forte. but I love this design
I want one just like this.. how do i order?

+Pie Don thanks. 3/4 oak veneer ply
Thank you. Also, what is the purpose of scoring your lines? Is that to make the line easier to see and/or help the jigsaw stay in line?
+Pie Don No it cuts the outside oak veneer so the saw doesn't cause chip out
Ahh, makes sense. Thank you!. I have learned a lot just from this video. Took me a bit, but found a good video explaining why you do a 'two pass' on the miter saw. I would have never know. Thanks again.
Wow thats a nice piece of furniture buddy! how much did it cost if I may ask? (materials used) :D
+Martin Feller 700 cnd materials
Thanks so much! Not cheap though ;)
Martin Feller compare that to what argosy console charges lol you're in for a shock.
Michael Gilyeart than I will not look ;D
DIY Builds $700 for materials? Is that based on wood? Is there a different kind of wood you'd recommend that could save a few bucks? Not that it's a bad deal just curious
Is that 3/4" maple ply?

+Pascal thanks

What kind of wood were you using for this project? :)
+Worn oak veneer plywood
Thanks and great work!
Are the measurements in inches on the PDF
+iangodfrey2005 yes
You Must do thid for a leaving. ?
Nope lol
How much did this cost?
+MIRA - Official in materials about $750. as for labour cost. priceless.
+DIY Builds Don't forget the $10,000+ in tools
+Koedix Lol Ya I have maybe a total of $3000 worth of tools. I go cheap mastercraft mostly and my bigger machines are second hand off kijiji that I refurbish.
