"You can even do some historical research and paint your own family's heraldry onto the knights..." Me, an American: *paints a revolver and a bottle of whiskey*
I should be studiing the Middle Ages for the universitty... instead I'm watching videos of fictittius medievla knigths and dreaming awake about using for the first time my brand new resin 3D printer to make my own Bretonian Warmaster army... Damm you all!! XDDD
far from my favourite, but something has to be said about a well painted colorful army of brettonian calvalry charging across the board, in bright and contrasting tones of white blue red yellow & green.
Finally, I waited for Bretonnia! Thanks for the work done, it was very interesting. I started playing for Bretonnia in due time. For the lady! For the king! Attack!
In WFB, the light/archer cav of bretonnia was yeomen. A higher class of serfs, almost freemen. Knights were forbidden from using ranged weapons as well as magic (fighting with a magic sword, banner, helmet etc is still allowed) so someone else needs to manage bows and war machines. Yeomen who can afford a horse of some sort can serve as mounted archers.
Full Tilt is a fun little miniature game featuring a bretonnian knightly tournament. You control teams of individual knights trying to climb the ladder during a little tournament somewhere in Bretonnia. You decide which tactic to use as your knight charges at another with a lance. Fights are not to the death but to knock people off their horse or shatter a light wooden lance at them. Magic items and spells are disallowed. Knights try to get favors of spectating ladies, which can be used as rerolls. At the end of the tournament, the remaining knights face the NPC black knight.
Great fun. Thanks I enjoyed that. So much painting prowess on display! It will be a while before I am going to paint individual heraldry on each figure. Though I suppose the squires will duplicate the knight's. And there are all the retainers to paint in his livery.
