And yet this is a July 2021 build with no modifications to the alignment (no shims or changes from OEM). Are you running the 19" Pirelli's Sidney? We know the 21"s are a nightmare, as the other Plaid that we bought (and sold to a friend) had them and have gone through a half-dozen sets of tires already.
I fitted some unplugged performance rear arms top and bottom and that sorted it. But what fun trying to get the wheel alignment with the air suspension. Ended up having to take it to Tesla to reset all the heights again. How painful that you have to take it Tesla for a wheel alignment.
@@TeslaPlaidChannel No, Michelin Pilot sport 4s. I have both 19s for the drags and 21s for the street. It was only that I was changing them over for some runs that I noticed one rear trye down to the belt on the inside edge, but the tyre itself was only 1/4 worn on the tread. The 21s have been on for a while now and they are wearing like yours thank goodness especially at 750 bucks AUD each.
@@sidneyshaw9999 After we got hit on the rear axle in February of 2022, we took it to our local Firestone shop and they did their alignment. One of those rear wheels still shows the scars of that 115MPH collision 💥
The motor sort of went with the wheels, so it simply just went from forward to stop and lastly just going backwards (There’s 2 rear motors)(1 in front)
I found in the freezing temperature range it's spin city for my Plaid with the stock Pirellis. I changed to the Pilot Sport 4 A/S and I don't have any problems hooking in the cold. I am curious to see if they run any slower than the stock tires though.
👍 That's interesting, I haven't seen anyone else try those tires on their Plaids yet. But the Pirellis are not for use in cold temps. Strictly 45F and above based on compound. Track prep is the other variable of course.
We ended up doing a total of 3 "runs" that night. None used the sexy button drift options. I had hoped to test these, but they stopped have an "open track" meaning I could experiment and were making all the drivers drift a fixed configuration with stop points. Hoping to test the SEXY button options further in the future. For the Track Mode Settings: 1st runs were in Track Mode "Drift" setting. This with our non-square set up (front wheel track was great than the rear) resulted in a car that did not like holding full opposite lock. 2nd run I had a custom setting of 100% rear setting, -10 TCS, and 60% regen (if I recall correctly). 3rd run we ran 100% rear setting, -10 TCS, and 60% regen (if I recall correctly). - but the rear tires were so spent they didn't even last 2 laps.

Blake murdering them tires like an absolute maniac in a 4,600lb sedan, absolutely insane 🥶

Another GREAT video! Thanks Andrew!

HE'S BAAAAAAAAACK!!!
Great variety of racing content! Plus the informative track talk scenes. Kudos.
Andrew, thanks for the great video. Always enjoy your outstanding community of racers.
Looks like they made some real improvements to the rear alignment on the Plaid. My performance Model S chews rear tyres like a mad thing!

@@sidneyshaw9999 Indeed, that inside edge failure is rampant among Plaids with the 21” PS4S 😞
Seems like a design defect to me
That must feel strange drifting a Plaid.
Indeed it’s like using lubricating jelly that also has the numbing medicine added to it.
I always enjoy your videos Andrew. Thanks

This is a nice surprise, I've just landed in the US and there is a fresh TPC video waiting for me 😊
😃 Welcome to the US, we're happy to have you here! ✈️
Did it snow where you live? I live in west Florida near Pensacola and we had 8-9 inches of snow in some places!
It’s been 30-32 degrees in the morning, but no snow here around Tampa thankfully 🥶

His gutted Tesla sounded just like Kyles plaid with the dodge demon170 body.
I wonder what happens with the motors when it rolls backwards?

@@R3cKi7 The regen override might be a factor here (Blake mentions it after his laps). Not sure it would do that when the regular regen is on.
@Heartfromsomewhere 🤣 thanks for that
@TeslaPlaidChannel surely it wouldn't be an issue, but curious lol I mean, engineers have done worse
@@R3cKi7 no like, the motor’s rpm LITERALLY went with the wheel spin

Does he have a party box in that plaid, i thiought you couldnt disable traction/stability control 100%

Thanks for asking 👍
Great plan if you buy Whole Life while you're young.
The green old mustang is garbage there is nothing he can do about !!!
He’s running 9s in the 1/4 and has many low 6s in the 1/8th. With the bigger nitrous jets, he could beat the Plaid this year 🤯
