YES! You are back!!! I was going through withdrawals without these videos!! That run with my COPO proved to be much worse than just a blower belt issue. The blower itself locked up at around 8 thousand RPM, which snapped the blower belt and it ripped through the transmission lines and took out part of the wiring harness. I should have known that there was an issue from right off the line, the car felt weak... I will be back hopefully soon!
Awesome races as always. That green BMW did alot better than I would think it would. To bad for the COPO, I love those. Andrew is the man at the track, he knows his stuff.
I àm going to try Hoosier Slicks(29's) and the 4:56. Already broke pg trans, (input shaft sheared) Freshen up(fix) the th400. Maybe that will be the combination needed....Having fun running you, but don't like breaking things...Keith
I'm glad to see you back. Fun runs! As much as it is great to see you run 9 second cars, I also enjoy seeing you give slightly slower cars the hit, and pass them in the end.
You may have mentioned this before but what other vehicles do you own? Curious on cars you would like to buy and race in the near future. Thanks, love the channel!
We have our 2019 Tesla S Performance, which has been down the dragstrip over 1001 times. A 10.4-second car, it’s more than enough for a daily driver 👍. Very low cost of ownership! The Plaid only leaves the garage to go to the track 😃 We’ve owned a number of Camaros and Mustangs over the years, some with built motors or nitrous. No ICE in our garage at this moment. Future cars? The Roadster has our attention, although we know Tesla will drop the price as soon as supply catches up with demand 💰
21K miles now in nearly 3 years. We don’t monitor our discharge rate, but our ETs have been 9.2s from 95% down to 75%. We’ve made six 9.2 runs in a row many times 👍
4:45 My first car was a 1971 Mustang Mach 1, Grabber Blue, with 351C 2V, FMX trans. Since then, I've bought 17 new Mustangs (mostly GTs) among other cars. My last Mustang was a 2019 Mustang GT Premium with the Perf Pkg #1. It was an awesome car. I also bought a Tesla Model 3 SR+ in 2019, sight unseen, to be used as a daily driver. I enjoyed the performance and driving experience of the Tesla so much that I sold the Mustang 1 and 1/2 years later and upgraded to a Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor and added the Acceleration Boost option. Faster 0-60 than my 2019 Mustang GT! I bought a 2023 Tesla Model Y LR (built in Austin, TX) last February and added the acceleration boost. I've been a Tesla fan for the last 5 years. I will say that I'm always on the lookout for a restored or very good condition 1971-73 Mustang Mach 1 fastback and would love to see it parked beside my Tesla. Great videos on your channel, too!
21K miles and around 900 dragstrip runs. Hasn’t slowed down at all because we take care of the battery with our charging habits. We just ran 9.201 in March. That’s the fastest we’ve ever run in those particular conditions. (We only run 9.1s in hot weather, as we will again this summer)
That's Danny Duncan's Cybertruck. I saw them shoot it on his channel. Don't know if Danny was driving it but I suspect not if there wasn't a commotion around the truck.
Yeah that was definitely the dual motor variant (600hp). The Cyberbeast(845hp) has run 11 flat at 119mph consistently on the street and non prepped surfaces.
Hey Andrew, is the Plaid slowing down a bit? Haven’t seen you run a 9.1x in a little while but consistent 9.2x no problem. Hoping you still have the tiny weight reduction advantage. 😁👍
All our 9.1s have been run in hot summer weather, and yet the car recently ran 9.201 on a mild night in March with a cooler full of drinks and other weight in the car. That would have been a 9.199 if we had a trailer to put everything in, like a lot of guys have. But we drive to and from the track. We are confident we’ll have more 9.1s this summer like last summer.
He actually hit the rev limiter, as he talks about later. Those 4.56 gears don’t allow him to get to 1320 feet in top gear. Thats why he swapped them out with 4.10 gears right after these races 👍
Hope you enjoyed your vacation! Missed your videos! In case no one has heard the Ford electric Cobra Jet Mustang just ran the fastest PRODUCTION TYPE car at a 7.75 @ 180 MPH. Beating the single seat McMurtry who went 7.97!.... BTW was that Demon170 Racer X's car? If so he blew the motor up! Been watching his channel as it seems running an 8.9 with one of those is a REAL CHALLENGE!
This Maroon Demon 170 belongs to a guy named Steve who can be seen in the last video. Racer X has an Orange 170 that was featured in our video from February: ruclips.net/video/Mkj1CS8CY6U/видео.html
👍Indeed, our 2019 Model S Performance (running mid 10s) has actually been down the dragstrip a bit over 1000 times and the 1000th time was faster than all previous 999. That was 3 years ago and it’s still going strong as our daily driver. No maintenance outside of tires and wiper places. This Plaid isn’t quite at 1000 yet, but possibly before the end of this year. It’s a lot faster (low 9s and 150 MPH), so it needed a set of brake pads already 😃
He said it's because one challenged him at a stoplight once. Then he swore a blue streak about it and how he’s now building a 7-second car that would beat it and so on...
So why isn’t it AWD??? The Germans figured it out decades ago. Ask Audi. Or BMW. Or Mercedes Benz. But those idiots in Dearborn are still scratching their heads. So your comment should have said: “If not for their own incompetence, the Mustangs designers would have built a faster after 60 years. But no, a 15-year old car company is already much faster.” (About TWENTY CAR LENGTHS FASTER 🤣🤣🤣)
WANT TO RACE FRON NY TO FL ILL BE IN MY TOYOTA MATRIX ,YOU GO AHEAD AND GO 40 MILES TO AND FRO YOUR CHARGING STATION ,ILL GET THERE IN 18 HRS C U NEXT WEEK,UNLESS U HAVE TO KIK OUT YOUR WINDSHIELD WHEN IT GOES UP IN FLAMES
@@sabrewolf1030 You WIN 🥇 today’s most ignorant comment award! We’ve seen countless cars go into flames at the dragstrip, including the orange pickup truck in our latest video, but never an EV. Gas cars actually ignite 27 times more often than EVs. That’s the actual data, but gullible idiots believe otherwise because of lying media. Thanks for showing us your IQ level with your comment 👍. And when we want to go 1000 miles in a day? We rent a car! We aren’t stupid! Who wants to put all that much depreciation on their own car? For $30 to $40, we get free roadside replacement and other perks. Meanwhile you’ve worn out your tires and need another oil change. We will pass you with a smile on our face while you are doing that stupid maintenance stuff 🤣 Go ahead and beat the crap out of your daily, nothing to be proud of!

Car felt weak?!!! Greg I came here to tell you that thing RIPSSS.
Looking forward to seeing you back Greg. That car is cool and fast.

The Mach 1 sounds like Greg's car too.
Andrew, great races. Always fun to watch. Nice how you and the others get along so well. Looking forward to your next races. Stay safe and have fun!

👍Breaking things, a reality of drag racing. Before we got our Tesla anyway 😃
I'm glad to see you back. Fun runs! As much as it is great to see you run 9 second cars, I also enjoy seeing you give slightly slower cars the hit, and pass them in the end.
👍Thanks Dean! We cut it close on that 2nd one for sure! 😃
But then again, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
That Mach 1 is sweet.

I wish I could have gone that night. The BMW and the Mustang run right around the times I'm running.. I may go this coming Thursday.
I’ve got a conflict this Thursday Oliver, but hope to see you out there the following week👍
7:18 It sounded like he ran out of top end. His RPM's didn't sound like they changed much after 3/4 track.
👍Agree, he was topping out around 1000 feet. That was his motivation to swap the 4.56s for 4.10s right after these races 😃
How many miles on your Plaid ? Just curious... What is your max discharge rate on the battery at 90-95% ? Thanks
21K miles now in nearly 3 years. We don’t monitor our discharge rate, but our ETs have been 9.2s from 95% down to 75%. We’ve made six 9.2 runs in a row many times 👍

Our story involves a lot of Camaros (‘69 RS 327, ‘74 350, ‘78 Z28), but ends similarly to yours! 👍
How many miles are on your Plaid now? Im curious how much they slow down with age, I know charging and battery care go a long way

Fun to see myself on the channel… unfortunately, for awful reasons 😭 Poor COPO!!
Still under repair a month later 🙁
That's Danny Duncan's Cybertruck. I saw them shoot it on his channel. Don't know if Danny was driving it but I suspect not if there wasn't a commotion around the truck.
👍Correct! (But on this night, his posse brought the truck out to the track without him, as confirmed with the driver 😃)

Maybe you could get a music sampler orpe recorder and stick a 1000 watt speaker in your trunk so you can make the Plaid sound like Greg's car.😂
Bmw running 9s needs bolt ons with e85... was he on E?
Not sure actually…
That was awesome
Great Races ! yea I can't see a BMW beating a EV honestly.

What model/trim is that BMW? An M4/M5?
Great question, I’ve been hoping the driver might answer it with all details. (I’m not a BMW guy at all and didn’t get a chance to walk by the car)
It’s an M4 with down pipe and tune, running E85, and has all wheel drive. Just bumped into the driver again and confirmed these details 👍
