Andrew when using drag mode and the two pedal double bulb sportsman launches is the time roughly the same to launch? Typically how many seconds do you have to double bulb it or does that vary by ambient temperature?
Full launch mode takes about 9 seconds. Thats why we try to talk to competitors ahead of time and let them agree to the double-bulb. Temperature doesn’t seem to have any effect, since it’s just a function of the air-suspension adjusting.
If we start the process but only give it less than 5 seconds, we are worse off than not using it at all. More than 5 seconds (but not done) is usually better than not using LC at all 👍

Hey Andrew, we need to do something about the tire grip-they're clearly slipping, and that's why the 60 to 330 time isn't great. Also, we should replace all the brake rotors with carbon-ceramic ones but keep the stock calipers. As for the tires, they need to be heated with tire warmers to 120-150°F.
Drag radials are on the way. But brakes are “safety equipment” per the NHRA. Note our 1.45 sixty foot and 3.91 to the 330’ on that Bye pass. Shows that when the prep is right, these old Pirellis can still perform. But we expect our new drag radials to be more consistent, and more tolerant and of imperfect prep. They will indeed require some temperature, and the Plaid’s inability to burnout will require tire warmers, especially in cooler months. We used tire warmers when we tested Yokohama full slicks on Kyle’s stripped down Plaid. And yet those tires were slower than my Nitto NT01s on lightweight 20” wheels.

It’s faster than the plaid. For some guys that’s all that matters and don’t mind paying extra money . I agree for over 100k more than the plaid it’s not that much faster . But then again it’s not fair now for the plaids in a heads up shoot out . Can’t compete now that’s why they have to bracket race /dial in
It is easily worth it. Not only is it faster, it is roomier, far more luxurious, and handles 10X better at speed. Not even a contest unless you don't have the money for it.
I’m talking about acceleration wise. The plaid is not top dog anymore this is why they will be bracket racing in these Ev classes . Have to give all the other slower Ev’s a chance since you cant add power to them and modify there power output . Only can do so much by striping weight . Majority of people like or want the faster accelerating car and don’t care about the top speed.
Lucid barely just barely won this race NOT WORTH $250k plus tax= $275K just for barely NO WAY. Also keep in mind that you have to pay around $930bux for car insurance every month for lucid. The Plaid is way way better IF you install lightweight ceramic rotors and lightweight 19''rims then you can beat that lucid !!!!! Also the car insurance for the Plaid is around $330bux which is much better for my wallet !!!!!!!!!
It is not a drag car, like a Demon 170, it is a Halo car for Lucid customers. Everything you buy as you move up the product range has diminishing returns at some point, the Lucid is better than the Plaid in nearly every way, is it objectively worth the extra money of course not. But for people where money is no object and just want the best EV it makes perfect sense for them. A Rimac Nevera is probably only 0.3 seconds quicker over the quarter but costs another $2m. It is the battery that is restricting power, each Lucid motor is around 670 HP, you need big batteries with lots of cells to go that fast. This is where the Chinese will start to come in as they dominate current battery tech. The Zeekr 001 FR a 4 motor 1265HP hatchback "estate" car, the first of likely many.
Indeed, the Plaid is amazingly efficient. There’s no other 9-second car that can go down the track and trap 150+ MPH 33 times on a single “tank” of fuel. THIRTY-THREE TIMES in a row without refueling! 😳 Even slow-poke Hellcats can’t do half as many. And our buddies COPO uses 3 gallons per run! (12 GALLONS per “mile” according to your math 😃)
@14:50 Bryan is describing a bracket race as I'm sure you know. Then it is skill and strategy. I actually found it more fun even though I was running mid 10 second cars back in the '80's.
👍We’ve enjoyed some brackets, and while it’s helpful to some “noobs”, the reality is it often comes down to reaction times. And that’s where guys with decades of experience usually take the money 💰 We’ll be open to that for next time 😃

We haven’t seen one yet, but looking forward to it 😃
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO LUCID🏆🏁 SAPPHIRE WOOHOO!😀👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳🎆🎇🎆🎇🎆🎇🎆🕺🕺🕺 TOGETHER AS ONE LUCID FAMILY❤️🙋♂️ ADDING ON AND HOLDING STRONG HOLD 🙌💎💎💎💎🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🌕😉👍

Well worth every dollar😉👍🥳🥳🥳🎇🎆🎇🎆🎇🎆🙌💎💎💎💎 It's a unique vehicle, not everyone has it.

@@samikamal1 Sure, if money is no object? 😃
Remember It's quality not quantity. 😉👍 I'm sure when the Tesla Roadster comes out.
With a rocket launcher in the back of it Then maybe you could catch up to the lucid sapphire. I guess tesla needs to put a rocket to catch up to lucid.😉👍🫡🙋♂️❤️
That Lucid Air Sapphire isn’t worth $250k in my opinion to barely outrun a Model S Plaid…
It’s faster than the plaid. For some guys that’s all that matters and don’t mind paying extra money . I agree for over 100k more than the plaid it’s not that much faster . But then again it’s not fair now for the plaids in a heads up shoot out . Can’t compete now that’s why they have to bracket race /dial in
@@SuperJj2468Actually the plaid track pack if hacked is 216 and lucid is 203mph so the plaid is technically faster XD
It’s sweet, yet that price delta is a big cavern. Can have one gutted Plaid S to race and one daily driver Plaid X and still $50K to spare 💰
Good points 👍
Hes start was shit. 😂😂😂
it depends on driver. In other video, lucid crashes plaid
Isn’t this a eigth mile tho
I just picked up my Model Y performance. I can't fathom what the S plaid must be like.
Yeah The plaid still way better in every way than that ugly Lucid !!!
Definitely more bang for the buck 🧨 💰
%12 per mile
About like an old apple phone
%1/min
Indeed, the Plaid is amazingly efficient. There’s no other 9-second car that can go down the track and trap 150+ MPH 33 times on a single “tank” of fuel. THIRTY-THREE TIMES in a row without refueling! 😳
Even slow-poke Hellcats can’t do half as many.
And that’s where guys with decades of experience usually take the money 💰
We’ll be open to that for next time 😃
@@TeslaPlaidChannel And getting them to 'take the bait" too! Like winning with 10.8 at 82mph.
Love your Channel sir! Upmost respect 🫡.
Question: Have you heard any information from Tesla or rumors regarding upgrades (Horsepower, design, lighting, cameras etc) for the 2025 Model S Plaid???
@@rayrouzan1264 Thanks! We haven’t heard anything about 2025 Plaids, but if we do, we will mention it in a future video 👍
