I could listen to Buzz shit-talking musicians all day long for 200 years
Me too.
I'll tell you yes he can do some s*** talking but when he puts down Nirvana and Kurt Cobain after all that help that he received from Kirk to even get his bands on to a major label and to be so jealous I mean his stories almost make you want to smash him on the head or anywhere else for that matter
I actually saw the melvins/Horton heat/zombie show.
The melvins did the most memorable live moment I’ve ever witnessed. It was in upper Darby, PA. Right outside of Philadelphia at a place called the tower theatre.....
1 or 2 songs into the melvins set, some people were booing the band and heckling them. So what does the legendary buzzo do? He hits an open chord, put his guitar up against his amp, the band walks off the stage, the sound cranks up and for the remainder of their set we get nothing but feedback. When their set was done, buzz comes out and waves and thanks us for being a great audience.
Luckily I’ve seen the melvins many times as well as buzz solo acoustic shows so I have gotten actual sets. But that will be my most memorable show and I’ve been to over 600 concerts.
Saw this tour in Denver.
Buzz owns two t-shirts.
Reverend Benzo if you got a miles shirt, you are set
Ever so slowly, over the years, Buzz is turning into Yoda.
I am so sorry that I am 40 and have only just discovered The Melvins, thanks to all these interviews with King Buzzo....
its never too late i'm sure he'd say the same thing it happened to me lol.
I could listen to king Buzzo shoot the shit all day!
The first punk rock Kurt Cobain heard was records he borrowed from Buzz
"It was bothering Rob, while he was eating." Buzz Osbourne is now even more my hero, than he was before!
I would personally pay Buzz and Dale, out of my own pocket, to make a shitload of noise and bother Rob Zombie while he's eating. Doesn't even have to be music.
"What is he eating, a fucking Faberge egg omelet?" is comedy gold.
Hey you
Yeah you, rock band
I'm trying to eat eggs
Rob Zombie acted how you'd imagine Gene Simmons to.. Interesting.
+Kiefer Hyder that's pretty funny
According to the members of White Zombie he is a massive dick and the main reason why White Zombie broke up.
Actually Buzzo holds high respect for Gene, and Gene even played with Melvins once...
It's his karma that he hasn't made anything good literally since 1987
I remember seeing Gene years ago on Tom Green's show. When talking about newer bands and specifically the big 90's grunge bands, he brought up his preference and love for the Melvins. I'm sure it was the tributes and covers the Melvins did that stroked his ego, as most bands would be ashamed to admit they liked KISS. But nice of him non the less.
I went to a music festival a few years back where Rob Zombie was doing his solo set and Melvins' tech was trying to set up their gear. Rob went over time and kept saying "fuck 'em" while looking at the stage next to him where Melvins were due to play. I was sitting there waiting for Rob to shut up and let the Melvins start. They were 1000 times the act he was. Hell, it wasn't even White Zombie that time, it was just Rob and some schmoes. I'd rather watch Buzzo stand up all by himself and just tell stories for an hour than listen to 10 songs that just sound like Dragula and a bunch of White Zombie songs played by Not-White-Zombie.
So, yeah. Looks like Rob hasn't changed much. Still a git. Melvins were great though. They had the two drummers happening.
I saw that White Zombie/Melvins Tour. Reverend Horton Heat was also there.
The more and more I see and hear of and from Buzz, the more and more I like the Melvins and really dig not just their music, but their whole outlook and personalities. Just another band that happened to have some of the most memorable experiences, some good and some bad, and they're just really down to earth, honest dudes. Really glad I read some of the Nirvana books, like Come As You Are, where the Melvins were mentioned once or twice every single chapter!
I gotta tell ya, never listened to much Melvins stuff growing up in the 90s but Buzz is winning me over here with his stories and Houdini is great by the way
Saw The Melvins open for Helmet back in 97 or 98...Both were Great!!!
Heard a story from a friend of friend once. Can't remember exact details, but the gist was his band was on tour sometime back in either the late 90s or early 2000s, they showed up to the club and the owner came out and told em they would get their guarantee but they wouldn't be playing that night. Guy says "why not?" and the owner was like "Booked the Melvins last minute, they're a bigger draw" so the band just got to hang out backstage and basically get paid to see the Melvins. Said it was probably the best show of the whole tour.
😂
In Portland, OR during the 1990's, I remember when a guy named Dan Reed from the Dan Reed Network (an upcoming -according to the hype- "star"/singer/ musician/ actor/etc. that never made it) tried to get a club called the xray cafe (that was in the same building as the theater he was in, but still over a block away) to stop whatever concert that was going on for at least an hour because it was disturbing his pre-show meditation!!! They didn't stop, and it only solidified his reputation as a prima-donna, which is the last thing you'd want to be known as in this towns music scene at that time!
First time I saw The Melvins they opened for KISS. Sold out. 18,000 strong. While the Melvins played there were maybe 9 people standing for their performance, half of which were in my row. Having the sounds of the MELVINS fill an arena where everyone was sitting on their ass was God like. OF course KISS came on and everyone went bat shit.
Frustrated Buzz: “Aww whatever!”
What's odd is this year the only two shows I've gone too were to see the Melvins, and Kiss, on seperate dates of course lol.
I saw them on that tour, White Zombie. Reverend Horton Heat was the other opener.
KISS and The Melvins... 2 in my top 5
Rob Zombie is a dick on stage (and probably off stage, too).
I saw him at Ozzfest WAAAYYY back in 2002. This is when Nü-Metal was in full-swing and "The Osbournes" was on MTV - and at the time, Sharon was undergoing cancer treatment in CO (IIRC). (Some tour dates were cancelled and rescheduled, as well).
Anyway, Ozzy was not going to be there, so most of the Main Stage acts had an increased time slot. System of a Down was going to be closing it out for the night.
(They fuckin killed it, BTW)
Rob Zombie had the honor of going before SOAD - and he decides about 1/4 through his set, that he's going to pull out his cellphone and dial Ozzy to let the crowd send him their love since he was in the hospital with Sharon. He dials, he puts him on speakerphone / the microphone, and the crowd is going wild, I mean, the kind of thing that you gotta be there to experience. You could see the look on Rob's eyes (it was all over the 15' monitors)… Jealousy. Envy. Something.
The rest of the set, he was such a lazy dick.
He was missing the lyrics left & right. He was sloppy.
He wasn't fun and energetic.
He hardly put on a show.
It was terrible. It was laughable.
It was like watching a beached whale slowly thrash about...
Ever since then, I can't take him seriously.
Dude, it was YOUR idea to call Ozzy. Don't get your panties in a bunch over the response from the crowd!! Duh.
A fist fight broke out down in the front of the stage, which even the cameramen found far more exciting than the stage theatrics… they were all focusing on it and kept cutting to different angles from the Pavilion lofts they were stationed in.
Oh, to be 16 again…. LMAO.
Rob Zombie - what an ass.
(But what a hot wife, shwing!)
+brrrmanza vegan people are mostly ass.
I would sell my soul to see the Melvins open up for KISS.
I was there-- in New Orleans, iirc. Had heard of the Melvins, but never listened-- was an awakening, they killed.
96, former Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, you could tell the P.A. was only set up for Kiss
i saw them a couple days before Stag came out at the Pyramid in Memphis. It was awesome that the songs they played from Stag were still fresh in my memory when I picked up the CD, like tthe Bit. Cool that my older brother got us tickets and that he initially turned me on to Rock through Kiss who was to him as the Melvins were to me. We both enjoyed both bands thoroughly. Almost everytime seeing the Melvins (12+ or so times) has some kind of interesting thing about the show.
@@icandleall I seen that show . They played Candy-O by The Cars . I remember KISS ,my favorite band, sucking, but The Melvins cooked. It Bar-X-The Rocking-M was a golden moment.
They already sold theirs.
I saw Rob zombie and the Melvins were cooking eggs for him
That's the world described in a musical context. A whole lot of disrespect and humble pie.
if he's talking about the White Zombie tour with Rev. Horton Heat I was at the Toronto show!
Perfect
Buzz is HILARIOUS
Yeah that's so funny I went to see Rob Zombie once and Alice Cooper was opening. Rob Zombie was such a pompous asshole on stage, just a "worship me" kind of attitude, I hated him after, such a douche. Alice Cooper killed it!
amazing show by him!
Buzz once said Rob was the biggest asshole he's ever had to deal with in his life.
+Masta Vapors Also, Rob stole his image from Al Jourgensen from Ministry.
I don't get it. if Rob Zombie didn't like the Melvins, why did he brought them on tour in the first place? or did somebody else thought this would be an interesting touring band to go with?
Buzz 2020
Sounds like a Rob Zombie thing to do
lol was this the same day as his loudwire video??
+Ted Dennis Same shirt!
I'm not making fun of, I'm just trying to come to terms with or understand, Buzz's hair. Can anyone help with this?
Faberge egg omelette 🤣🤣🤣
They don't use a chorus, chorus, mini chorus, bridge, verse, chorus, chorus method.
I can't be the only one who's curious to see how Buzz looks like with a beard.
That would be some cursed images type shit lmao.
Sideshow Bob got old man!
Almost as old as this joke!
i dislike gene simmons, a great deal, to bad the story wasnt worse
But was a hillarious history I laughed hard ! jaja
