Recently I've been going back and reevaluating Melvins' catalogue, from 97-21. Can't believe how consistently good it all is. I can't think of another group I can say that about. Love them.
Melvins still conquer all. Still relevant. Still weird. Still funny. They never sold out, and they never became shitty. I try to catch them whenever they play nearby, though I missed them recently.
As well as discovering new stuff, I will always love to listen to those old favorite records of my younger years. It's cool when you see there are others that are the same way.
These guys are so fun to enjoy live and their catalog is one of a kind. I love the Senile Animal time with Big Business.... What a riot it was to watch the two drummers perform.
I like when they do those Senile Animal songs with the current lineup. And I think they should bring back the extra guitars. My favorite lineup is when they had Rutmanis on bass and Scott Stone on guitar. I think they should come up with a new configuration in reverse of Melvins Lite. 2 drummers, 2 bass players and 2 guitar players. Or even make it bigger and have THREE guitars.
Live At Leeds had the same effect on me! I always imagined they were playing some massive stadium until I saw a photo of the place. An unexpected venue to such an epic recording.
A very popular live album, it's been cited several times over the years we've been making this series. Captures The Who at the blistering best. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Man the interviewer is great! I've watched a bunch of these (and I'm subscribed), and he always knows his shit and is able to talk about whatever album the guest brings up. The breadth of his music knowledge is extremely impressive
Yeah, me too. The Melvins gig were Steve Macdonald down in western mass. Helms also was great. The drummer was outstanding. She was opening for the mighty Dale Crover, and she was monstrous. Good time had by all I hope.
Revolver! Even more mind-boggling when you consider that they were limited to 8 tracks. Making the bounce decisions and living with the results is a part of the process that we haven’t had to live with for 50 years.
@@galus14436 lol yeah, what an easy concept, I mean. There MUST be a reason no body did that? Jesus Christ. "Yeah. But back in the day, mono sucked. Like. Why didn't they just invent stereo sooner?"
It's pretty basic knowledge. Not everyone should be a music journalist. Although in America having clueless people doing jobs they're not qualified for seems to be the way it's done these days.
jesus buzz, allow dale to awnser some of the questions, dale looks slightly annoyed being cut off and not being able to chime in...dont get me wrong. big melvins fan here. but man..people skills

Just listening to the U-men compilation after hearing Buzz mention it. Incredible... it's like the Cramps meets Bungle
when i see the melvins... i click
Thanks for viewing!
Ditto!
That was a great show! I flew in from Calgary for it,then took my younger brother to the Calgary show! Melvins rule!!!!

saw them in Bristol, place called 'the croft'...now called 'the crofter's rights'... just one of the most amazing drum sound ever.
to me, they were good up til 2004. Since then i've been disappointed by EVERY album except the "birds & bees" ep
Senile Animal for me, but I give 'em a break. They've been at this since '83. There's always a couple of great songs on every record.
Love these guys... they just seem so down to earth and fun to chat with...I'm excited for the new album!
Couldn't agree more with Buzzos comments on Revolver... best Beatles albums hands down
The melvins rule
one of MOST under rated bands of all times!!! and off stage they seems to be marvelous guys!

Yes Jared.... I second that. In fact... I am going as far as to request the Senile Animal in its.... Do I dare say it? --- ENTIRETY ----
That is awesome Hugh! Great memory. Those silly Melvins.

Seen melvins about 5 times this year and each time was amazing
these guys are the greatest most humble legends in the fuckin world.
Melvins are amazing live and the most original pionering band still out there.
Humble and wise guys. Great artists. The mighty Melvins!!!
Still my favorite band of all time, these guys. Normally not an easy conclusion to reach, but the Melvins make it easy.
pure love
Melvins is passion
true rock stars!

The reissue in the early 2000s was great. Had the original album plus Tommy live. Great, great, awe inspiring stuff.

Thanks for that, I'll be sure to pass this on to Charles! Cheers!
He thought Ringo Starr wrote Taxman
Saw them while tripping out. It was awesome
ugh... this interview is amazing...
Thanks for watching.
This is how every musician interview should go. Talk about music nerd stuff - shooting the shit as they say.
Fuck yeah Priest! \m/
10:18 best advice ever
Good advice at the end there.
These guys are truly beautiful people & great musicians. I wish i was a roadie so i could hang out with them 24/7.
Why not just wish you were in the band ?
Slayer also played Smellington's so did Dwarves, Kyuss and many others
those are some amazing bands lmao
I agree Helms Alee is rad!
i wish i could count that fast
I'm surprised they didn't say trout mask replica.
Awesome
Saw Helms Alee! Good stuff!

6:39 King Buzzo really knows.
i clicked the like button on the video for this reason :D

Why didnt thay just double up on the gear. 2 of the 8 channel mixers and 2 of the 8 channel multi track reel to reel. You get my point

Amazing interview. 😃
Cheers! Thanks for watching.
Love Helms Alee
They start to resemble each other
Buzz may very well be the coolest dude on earth!
So fucking legit
It's so funny how much a like they look.
There is clearly "room sound" on the Taxman guitar..
Good point. I'm sure that after 30 years of recording with zero experimentation he clearly
Brothers of The Sonic Cloth from the Pacific Northwest kick ass too!
The beatles never went too far and the white album is my favorite 🥲 I am surprised to hear Buzz say that
I've never heard anyone say that :) that's why I always love talking to artists about records. Thank you for watching
This people is so clever
Electric Ladyland Exile on Main Street
So did they get a taste of Regina?
I should hope so!
Couldn't click fast enough
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand The Melvins mention the Beatles again :-|
They are kinda unavoidable if you lived in the 20th century.
Buzz Osbourne is a swell fella. And I'm not being sarcastic. Seems like an easygoing dude.
tattoo on dale's neck?
Fuckin'hell....i hate the beatles, but i like revolver..and taxmanis my fave track..I must be right to one point.. : )
Did Ringo write Taxman? Oh dear...
well to be honest, that's how I felt as well. However, not everyone is a Beatles devote. mrh
It's pretty basic knowledge. Not everyone should be a music journalist. Although in America having clueless people doing jobs they're not qualified for seems to be the way it's done these days.
What!? They were in Regina and didnt play a show!? I guess Regina really is the worst. Why do I live here again? :(
Gonna catch a ruff ryders show. I was next them guys at vegas hotel. I was strippers in hallway all nite.
3:25
Shoulda played the Beatles in mono. Doesn't really do his point justice playing the crappy stereo version.
Good ears! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Interviewer is a Proud Boy.
What does that mean?
It’s because of the shirt you’re wearing, a symptom of the times we live in, where a shirt can have political meaning to over sensitive sjw’s.
jesus buzz, allow dale to awnser some of the questions, dale looks slightly annoyed being cut off and not being able to chime in...dont get me wrong. big melvins fan here. but man..people skills
I think that might be just how those two work together. Buzz does do a lot of the talking!
another example as of why if you dont like the beatles you dont like music
Fuck the beatles
the beatles suck ass. easily the most overrated band of all time.
