that was really good!! i've seen 2/3 of the media you talked about and will now be watching the third. i hope the algorithm picks up your videos because that was a great analysis and i definitely wanna see more from you. will be checking out your other content! o/
I really enjoyed the video it was great to see your analysis of class in these works. With the Lighthouse and Succession (I liked the inclusion of the second film in the video so much I skipped save it until I watched the film myself) the narratives are inmate with their isolation due to the nature of the crushing pressure upon them, the loneliness is personal because there is no space for the personal to shared otherwise. Loneliness is the safety for vulnerability is because the scenarios are so volatile; I am stunned I didn’t think of the pandemic immediately with Succession but on the contrast made it with The Lighthouse since I too watched it during the pandemic. Please make this a series, your work is incredible and I would love to see more of your perspective.
Thank u so much for this comment!! I love the line “loneliness is safety for vulnerability” it rings true even in the film you haven’t seen yet! And I’ve been getting a good response to this one so it will 100% become a series. Do u have any suggestions on what you’d like to see me cover?
@@milesmemory I would love if you covered Saltburn! I find the movie to be a grand play on the big screen, it’s been a while that I’ve seen anything like it. Maybe if you have the time Munishishi or Jellyfish Princess if you would like to watch some hearty animes. Psycho-Pass, if you have the stomach and the itch for a psychological sci-fi. It took me so long to think of exactly I would love to see your thoughts on but, that’s my list :)
25:39 watching this again and about ten minutes before this my internet dropped, and i just sat there watching the circle loop round, and round, framing casey's face in the dark. we were both motionless. i have not seen We're All Going to the World's Fair and i may have done myself a disservice by reminding myself of it with this video, but by your analysis of it i think it really settles into the same dissociative, murky, anxiety in the unreality of the internet that i've been steeped in this past year or so.
I literally cannot explain to u how much I love this comment lol. Judging by the little bit of ur vibe I’ve seen worlds fair would be 100% up your alley!! And good to know on the thing
I love the different ways that storytellers use isolation to highlight a character’s need for control or their response to fear, etc
Do u have any suggestions for works I should look at in the future like this?
I’ll think about it
@@milesmemory i think sunset boulevard fits into this nicely
