  • I just bought four QSC LA108 speakers with QSC cases and of course I have issues... I am quite positive I have the worst luck ever when it comes to buying new gear. I mean seriously if we analyze failure rates of equipment based on my purchases. I don't know how anybody has gear that works 🤣

I am involved in advising our church in what company to use. I have done warranty repair on several brands. I knew that Yamaha is an interesting company, their speakers are made in Thailand, and India. Most of the other brands speakers are made in China, and Mexico. I did listen to your reply to advise about RCF vs Yamaha. You did a very good dialogue, My leaning is toward Yamaha.
When I worked at a high-end audio store in the 70's I was privileged to fly to Chicago, and attend training with Yamaha consumer electronics. I received a pair of Yamaha cuff-links as a present.

Friend of mine bought d&b rig for over $200k and d&b was saying that they have less then 1% failure products of a factory) He got 4 D80 amps and 2 of them just froze in a couple of weeks) They fixed them on a warranty. So your luck is just fine))

Hi there again, thank's for the continued great vid's 👍
Can I ask your opinion regarding the JBL eon1 mk2 column array battery speaker, the new EV Everse 12 battery speaker and the yamaha BTR battery speaker. Which one would be your choice out of these 3 speakers, if solo singing outdoors/busking, mainly to Elvis backing tracks. Would it be correct to say with Elvis backing tracks I would need good bass and mids? Sorry I keep hassling you with questions......lol Thanks and much appreciated!

"Let's talk about the QSC LA108 cases" Bad luck man that sucks I feel for you. Honestly, I feel I'm critical on live sound stuff for what we do that's why I appreciate watching your channel. Hopefully your 4 108s are just fine - I'm sure they are. The only QSC gear I've ever had is my current CP8 but I'm sure they'll (or the retailer) take care of it. Hopefully they send you a new one and let you keep the broken zipper one just for the inconvenience.

I thought about hitting up QSC for a warranty claim, but in the end I just went on Amazon and bought these clip-on zipper ends for luggage. QSC typically makes some pretty good, reliable speakers. I've owned a few in the past so I'm not too worried about the actual speakers. They have Gator make the cases for them. There was even a gator tag inside of that case. But I'll tell you what when you are in the process of unboxing $10,000 worth of speakers and cases. And one of the first things that happens is a zipper snaps in half you seriously have a "what the fuck" moment 🤣

@@TheAngrySoundTech oh I bet on the WTF moment. I think you handled it quite well! And I did not know Gator made their cases but you learn something new everyday!

What do you recommend for a mobile dj? Gigbar or build your own lighting rig? Any specific lights that are must haves and not $500? I plan to do salsa dancing socials and maybe private house parties. Thank you in advance

I just got some 112s I found the 8s lacking when compared to the 12s

I think if I was primarily doing music I would have went with the 112's as well. I do mostly corporate speech these days so I'm pretty happy with the 108's.

      @@TheAngrySoundTech I’m combining with DXS18XLf-D subs ..I’m thinking you’re doing similar.

Since I bought mine for mostly corporate events and just do light background music I bought a pair of KS112's to use with them. I may eventually use larger subs with them once I get a few more boxes and can hang a larger array but for now I'm just ground stacking with 12" subs. Currently I have 4 LA108's but I'm just about to pull the trigger on two more so I have 6. I'd eventually like to have 8 so I have two for front fills as well.

I think both of your presuppositions may be true. I think things do suck more than they used to in terms of quality, and compared to the rest of us, you have crappy luck. Sorry about that.

I'll tell you what though. I bought replacement zipper tabs on Amazon and they are awesome! I forgot I had a few other things that were missing zipper tabs and now I've just been a zipper tab replacing fool 🤣 BTW even though the zipper tab was questionable the speakers are awesome! I'll be doing a review on them soon.
