- THIS WAS A MISTAKE! Maybe this van camping spot was a bad idea.. We stayed overnight in the UKs most notorious dogging spot in Cannock Chase. Whether they naked or not they not bothered about any one watching. This thing seems to have been going on in the uk for some years now. 😮

I haven’t been camping in a minute, but my camping style is a lot different than what you do, we don’t have car parks here, I like wooded campsites with privacy, I sleep in my wife’s Van, but not quite the setup as y’all. Not that the I am aware of - there are some fantastic walks around the Chase, but not there! That said, you were a stone’s throw from the War Cemetery and the German Military Cemetery which is worth a visit!

With ref to the cleanup…. Get yourself a camp shower from decathlon and leave it ful in the van with a sponge and wash up liquid. It’s great for pretty much anything. Lots of dodgy spots in Lancashire too for the pineapple people 😂

Great video as always Brendan. Gutted you got stung for parking. It’s disgusting that we are encouraged to enjoy the great outdoors for our mental wellbeing to then get charged a small fortune no matter where we go. It’s also about time we saw somebody cooking for you for a change pal, even though you had to do your own tea, that pad Thai looked delicious. I never knew about pineapple either, do you think the same applies for tinned pineapple? 😂

Brilliant Video, I don't know if you are aware Brendan that is a Massive Scout/Guides Camp called Beaudessert, I think I have spelt it correctly, I assume that it's still there. In 2004 I went to Magic 2004 with my guide group (5th Shrewsbury previously 5th Abbey Guides) A international camp which was amazing, my mum and dad brought my youngest son out to see me which was a lovely surprise, he was only one at the time, so got fussed over by all the girls, I been with the guide group from brownies, Guides, young leader and then Guider Assistant so 20 + years of Guiding. amazing memories x

Hi.. I've just started out on this journey. I've slept in the back of my van once..on my drive . I'm quite nervous about doing it properly in case of people wanting to break into the van etc. Sounds crazy but I'd hate to have this happen. Any tips? I have the park4night app and have ideas on decent spots.. just plucking up the courage!
We all feel the same on the first camp 🙂. As a rule of thumb, parking around others is a good idea if possible and try and be as stealthy as you can at night 👍. For the first couple of camps, maybe camp with a friend?

best to get out and explore the area, and see what kind of litters there is, etc if there's broken glass or anything that makes you think, and always trust your gut instinct. Iv been to few it was scary at 1 but once you have done it a few times and know what to look for you're all good.

If you visit Cannock Chase and don’t want to pay the ridiculous charges at Birches Valley, head for the visitor centre at Marquis Drive instead…it’s free! Multiple other car parks that are also free dotted about … sans doggers 😂
