    I’m rooting for Metv Toons because they are going to be over the air (OTA) and having an antenna means I may be able to get it when it comes out. But at the same time I don’t want Boomerang to go anywhere cause I’ll be able to watch that too in my bedroom on my Roku, so it’ll be a win win both ways for me lol.

      Nah, they need a Powerhouse or CN City era of their own to make us Millennials and Gen Zers happy who are growing older and would want to relive the bumpers of the past all over again.

    I just hope MeTV Toons becomes a permanent channel because than Cartoon Network will finally realize how much viewers want to see the classic cartoons and put them back on the schedule forever along with turning Boomerang back into what it used be in the 2000s.

    Too soon to ask, but my vote will be on MeTV Toons since going to be an OTA (Over The Air) 24/7 running channel. Something that I've wanted all these years without paying for cable tv.

    I would love METV Toons to carry most of my childhood back again. We are talking about Warner Brothers, Hanna Barbara, Terrytoons, Harveytoons, all the Popeye franchises, the superhero cartoons; Superman, Superboy and Kripto, The Justice League, The Fantastic Four, etc..., just a review of what was on the networks during the 1960s and maybe halfway through the 1970s.

    I have to go with the up coming MeTV Toons. For one thing my cable provider stopped carrying Boomerang in May 2019 ( that's five years). The shows they have on Cartoon Network now sucks. I liked it better when CN did have the classic cartoons before launching their sister station Boomerang. Now that I haven't seen Boomerang in five years and CN shows are garbage I can't wait for June 25th to come and I can finally get to see my old school cartoons.

    "Better" depends on what you like, but the new Toons network has a few inherent advantages. Boomerang, and Cartoon Network before it, were repositories for the Turner/Warner cartoon libraries. So that mostly meant Hanna Barbera's back catalog, Termite Terrace, and MGM theatrical shorts. MeTV has to lease its content, but it's provided a new platform for moribund cartoon libraries from studios that i hadn't sen on TV in 30 years, like Fleischer, Walter Lantz, and Columbia. The published schedules so far show that they're reaching deep into the toyboxes for some of these shows. And I'm here for it. 😊

    MeTV Toons all the way, don’t get me wrong I miss the days of both Cartoon Network and then Boomerang being the home for the cartoon classics but this is possibly the best chance we have of getting a cartoon channel that has more than just cartoons from the Warner Discovery library but also access to other libraries of cartoons that we once exclusively aired on other channels back in the day.

    I would suggest watching the METV channel for s while to get a sense of how METV Toons will be programmed. METV has proved to be exceptional regarding their programming format, even if all of the shows aren't top rate, most are, and the others receive the same programming stability, so the channel remains dependable and predictable. Something Boomerang has lacked over its tenure. I would argue that METV's sci-fi block which starts Saturday's at 8:00PM Eastern each Saturday featuring Svengoolie, Batman, Star Trek TOS, Kolchak, Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Time Tunnel and others is the strongest entertainment window available on any network currently, so they definitely know how to program. I expect METV Toons to produce the same quality programming over the long run and avoid moving the "classic" window forward in time which was the beginning of Boomerang's downfall.

      Boomerang just shut down in Europe and is about to shut down in America. Most cable companies don't even carry the channel anymore. And Warner Bros Discovery wants nothing to do with animated programming anymore. I'd be surprised if they didn't shut down CN within the next year. They clearly do not have any future plans for the channel. They stopped producing new shows and are now adding more and more old classics to the channel's lineup.

      I doubt Boomerang would be shut down in the U.S. although they did shut down in Latin America and Europe. It has gotten a bit better though but not enough variety. Can’t wait for MeToons though.

    • @MrDonCoyote
      @MrDonCoyote 6 месяцев назад

      @@peyifte6311 So after some further digging, here's the situation. Warner Bros Discovery's exclusive license to the Boomerang brand has expired and they didn't renew it. Hence why another company took the brand and recently launched Boomerang in Canada. For now, Boomerang still operates in the US, New Zealand and Australia. Suggesting that their licenses have yet to expire. But clearly, WBD is no longer interested in operating this channel, hence why they rebranded Boomerang to Cartoonito in some regions such as South-East Asia. Cartoonito is a pre-school focused channel similar to that of Nick Jr and Disney Junior. This explains why we're starting to see more classic programming over on Cartoon Network. Cartoonito has already been around for some time in the UK and Europe

    if they follow the parent network model, they will run all the episodes from all the series they will run, in order of their og airdates. Now because Saturday Morning shows had far less episodes than prime time shows, they will recycle faster. So, you'll have time slots with different, but related series: Wacky Races/Penelopie Pitstop; the two Josie and The Pussycat series as examples.

    • @shawngronseth2357

    Although in Greece, where I live, the boomerang has become cartoonito, I support the boomerang. From what I know, the boomerang of the USA has become like Europe in 2010-2013, that is, the old cartoons returned, but it still maintains some new ones. Because I grew up with boomerang, I don't want what happened now to change if metv toons has more spectacularity.

    MeTv has cool shows and more cartoons than Boomerang, which is 24/7 old cartoons, while MeTv is 1 - 3 hours. Boomerang doesn't have a lot of old cartoons than they used to. I remember Boomerang as a little kid and the new shows are as good as the old ones, it just needs more of the old and original cartoons rather than just remakes of old Cartoon Network shows which are also good.
