I’ve been using Bergantino gear for several years now. I recently had an issue with my B|Amp and gave them a call. Jim answered, and took the time to talk me through the process of resolving it. And then checked back with me to confirm that it was resolved. Amazing guy, amazing products, and amazing service and support. Yeah, they’re not cheap. But you actually get what you pay for… Winner…
I’m trying to check some of the newer boutique gear Genzler Mesa mark bass and bergantino I have a fender bassman 500 and I have grown to to love it but wonder what I could be missin
I've been a Bergantino cab devotee for years, won't even try other cabs anymore, the balance they strike between warmth, punch, and articulation is unmatched by anything else I've heard. The heads are also outstanding as well.
Love the tone on that Jazz Bass Lars is playing at the start of your review! What can you tell me about it? In particular, do you know what strings he is using?
Thanks a lot, very interesting as always. The Sandberg JB is a weapon. Played it in FfM once, you did not want to sell it back then, I do not know why...... ;-) The shown Fender PB is what model? Thx for the information in advance
@@PSA955 Me too, The best cabinets I've ever owned by far have been my Bergantino 1x15 and 2x10. I've had them for like 15 years or more. They are expensive, but that have such a deep rich punchy sound and incredible response and clarity. I've also been using an Ashdown amp, but an EVO II 500. Although several months back I bought a TC electronics BH250 micro amp that sounds amazing as well. Especially for $300. And the option to beam any TC Electronics bass tone print from my phone into the amp is amazing. I use the spectra comp tone print pretty much all the time and it really sounds great. The amp easily powers both Bergantino cabinets with tons of volume, and the amp easily fits into my gig bag since it's so tiny and lightweight! Cheers!!
Same here. Love the cabs but still not wild about the heads. I noticed a lack of headroom; the digital heads seem to need a higher rating to cut through.
A more fair comparison would be EBS 802 to this one. I still prefer my Bergantino HP to 802 but it really is way above the EBS 752. The 752 is way cheaper though.
Not really digging the drive sound. Especially when cranked up. They just have that digital sound. Can't put my finger on it what it is specifically. More harsh. Digital effects have pretty much been able to reproduce everything over the years: modulation, filtering, time based, etc. But drives aren't quite there yet. Still amazingly better than 20 years ago, but not quite yet. There are some expensive ones that seem to have done it. But not this one to my ears.
The drive and/or fuzz sound will change dramatically depending which software you load it with. There are a number of different characters you can load. Not sure which software was loaded in this video.
Ideas great. Sounds thin to me(2d) over the internet tbh. I really like how you can load different algorithms into it. But wish they would've used a tube pre on it, had some lights or something for the compressor so you know what the hell's going on(maybe like the dbx 160x? when you have the 2 lights flipping on/off in sync with each other, you know you've got your compression set correctly!). And it would be great to have the analog tube pre, but have solid state power amp section, and you can add the amp simulation algorithms to it to change it up tone wise. Like for instance you want more of an SSL type of sound to it, or Aguilar sound, or Fender sound or Ampeg sound etc. Toss that in there and boom you go it. Then on the 4 band eq section, say you want an SSL eq on the lows, then Trident on the low mids, then API on the mids, then Neve on the highs you can put in algorithms to do that! Same with the compressor say you want DBX 160 sound, or SSL Gcomp sound, or Neve 5254 sound, etc. Now that would be a great amp! But it would also need metering of some sort!!!!!!!!! There are no meters on here for anything! Would love to see a digital meter on here to see what type of eq sound your getting, post/pre switch as well to see both. And of course a compressor meter of some sort, even if it's 2 light's or something like DBX has as stated above. The going down to 2hohms should be a given now for every amp as I know I personally use 2cabs one a 4hm and one an 8ohm so that's what 2.4ohms or is it 2.6ohms? But whatever, the point being what if you have two 4 ohm cabs you wanna use in stereo? You should be able to do that! My dream bass amp would be what I've stated above, with an analog tube pre system(the digital modeling stuff still sounds 2d to me), and all the bells and whistles you could think of, but super easy to use so no manuals needed!
It’s 2 ohms. And judging the sounds in this depth from the recording of a RUclips video... I recommend you make your own tests in addition. Capturing the character of such a clean amp is complicated and the results are of course manipulated with post production editing. And I think you overestimate the influence of preamp tubes. They don’t do much good in such a clean circuit
It definitely don't sound thin ;) even in that video it sound full, clean and massive to me. I have a Bergantino Forte now which has less power but even that thing have so much headroom
@@francoishtzl157 The HP sounds even more fuller than the Forte and the B amp. Especially with the right cabs. I have found that using the modern vintage software load and turning the drive knob to around 1-2 makes it sound very tube like. No drive at this level, but more of the soft "clean" tube amp sound.
try subtitles! it's a thing now in most languages even!
Spanish subs are on point!
Cantonese subs, 80 out of 100, tell google to improve it~

The Forte HP seriously has one of the most full, warm and natural drive channels I've ever heard on a modern amp. I absolutely love it!

Lars Lehmann what a great bassist. Thanks as always for a great review!!

that is... some of the best onboard drives and fuzz tone !! so natural and smooth...
Great review, and great playing. Most important for me, is the different basses used, and the tones that can be achieved.
I love this amp! It goes down to 2 ohms with no worries (when I get to play the big shows) and sounds incredible.
I was confused with 2160p50 then again I'm American.
Great sound and quality again :)
Gregor I just really enjoy your channel. I think I enjoy you more!
Lol
Only damn RUclips person that makes me smile.
Excellent work!

This is amazing. I have basically given up on amps, but this vid makes me want this one.
The Mesa D800+ is also an excellent d-class head.
Thank you for the excellent and informative videos.
Great amp and love your Tardis shirt!
Lars is melting away in the end because of the mad temperatures in Germany currently ;-)

Well I want one now, job done.
.... Bergantino 💥💥 👍🏽✨..... Is.... IRREAL..... SOUND MACHINNE.... 🙆🏽♂️✨
That sounds nice.

What is that lovely large body bass? Looks and sounds superb!
I would also like to know
Kay K162 Reissue
@@basstheworldofficial Thank you!
VERY NICE GUYS
Their cabinets are the best I"ve ever played, and I've played them all. The heads are good but I'm not in love with them.
I agree, I'm on my 3rd Bergantino cabinet, bought my 1st one 15 years ago. Agree on the amps, just sold my BAmp. Prefer my Ashdown ABM EVO IV Dual VU.

my dream this head
Definitely one of the most interesting class D amps as far as I'm concerned.
Lars Lehmann and his sweet... 😋 sweet... 😍😫 thick... 🤤🥵
grooves 🎸
This amp is bigger on the inside
Schauen wir der Wahrheit ins Auge, Lars is einfach ne geile Sau am Bass!
Try the Mk2 Bamp
Are you gonna review the Bergantino Super Pre anytime soon?
Yes in a few weeks
I am so torn between getting this or the new EBS Reidmar 752.

Umm - I must have missed that - what does this amp have that others don't?
@Norm - I recommend to watch the Forté D video first
This video is crossed the line...
