AS A UNDERTAKER IN THE CITY OF ATLANTA KUDOS TO NAWLINS DON'T NOBODY DO HOME GOING CELEBRATIONS LIKE Y'ALL BABIES I LOVE IT KEEP MAKING IT DO WHAT IT DO ABOVE AND BEYOND BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY UNTIL THEN AND GREAT JOB PATRICK.......👍🎩⚰️🕊️
It really is. I visited it some years ago; the energy of your city was palpable even as we approached the city as we drove on the highway. Such a memorable experience.
It isn't when you live here 😭 we ain't the murder capital and the first OG mob town for a reason, shits depressing that's why we got good music and food to keep us partially sane. This coming from someone who grew up in BunkerHill/ Lil Woods, New Orleans.
Thank you, NOLA. Thank you for your fabulous traditions, for your remarkable culture and for your amazing people who keep them both alive. Nice job, L. Patrick! RIP, Mr Rainey.
The only way to go...paying tribute to one of the greatest traditions in NOLA. I live outside of the state, now but when MY time....THIS is the way I'm going❤
Well done, Patrick. You were right in not cutting the videoclip to save the whole soundtrack. It's worth the whole 27 minutes of vision - a difficult task today, when people on RUclips usually give up after 2-3 minutes. Good job!
Yes, very good job goes to Patrick. This is amazing. I was fortunate to see a small version of this while visiting Belize. Just happened to be going to change currency at the bank and my daughter and I was delighted to see a similar experience. Not nearly as elaborate.
Living is hard. Dying is easy. We carry on the pain that the living had when they were here. We carry that pain in our tears for them. There’s something selfish about that.
Oh wow! 😲 I didn’t know that there was a Zulu Tribefrom Africa living amongst Gadites from the Tribe of Gad. (The 12 Tribes of Israel) Good to discover! Thanks for sharing! 😊
We are the few...the proud...the cultured...baby. We want to record the beautiful things we see. At least for me,love! I think the Creole culture and what it has brought the south should be recorded out of respect for posterity and education. Whether it be a celebration of marriage, death, or just because it feel right this weekend...its beautiful to see people come together like this. Traditionally always has been such. And I might be white by skin but I was raised within such a diverse culture that I fell in love with every sound...and every bite! I really wish we had more accurate documentation of this type of event from ages ago. Man wouldnt it be awesome to be able to relieve the early ones through videos! I try like heck to educate people on the richness to be found via the deep South specially now that I live in a northern state where everything is boring and bland!! I'm a cook too and was blessed to learn from a few Creole masters growing up in my hood. Everyone was always so kind and such beautiful, gracious souls! How could someone not want to share the beauty! I carry it with me everywhere I go. It's made me who I am...no matter my color sha. And I am so grateful each day to have been blessed to see, do, and experience what many white people in the rest of society probably will never understand. I thank nawlins for that. It's always been my first love, my muse, and forever a light in the dark. (Oh and"us white people". Totally get that. Too many abhorrent uneducated white sheeple with money who choose to never understand. I love that yeah lol cuz I'm nawlins bred low class poor white trash and always had a sour taste in my mouth for those kind of white people.) Long live NOLA!! Many blessings to you and yours, love!!
I tell ya, New Orleans knows a little something something about celebrating both living and dyin'...and it's all beautiful in the in between.
My father Arthur Vigne was King Zulu 1988, he passed away July 2019. While living he was the oldest living King.
May he countine to get his rest rip

And to think there were those who didn't want to rebuild NOLA after Katrina. People like that know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
