In true Nawlins fashion..what a send away! Local natives...nothing sad...just celebration of his life & his and his bands contribution to Rock-in-Roll in my blue heaven... his unique smile always memorized me!
But, did you recognize the first song? It's our theme song, and it goes like this: Ohhhhhhh, it ain't my fault; I said ohhhhhhh, it ain't my fault! Ohhhhhhh, it ain't my fault...you name it, I'll blame it. It ain't my fault! Yay! New Orleans, proud to crawl home. Bon soir ya'll!
YES , YES , YES , THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE !! ------ HOWEVER , IT ISN'T EVERYWHERE AT THE MOMENT !! ----------- IT WILL BE WHEN THE ONE " LORD " YESHUA / JESUS " CHRIST " ------ THE " SON " OF THE MOST HIGH ---- RETURNS AT THE END OF THE AGE / WORLD TO JUDGE THE NATIONS !! ALL BLESSINGS TO ALL THOSE IN HIM --- " CHRIST " THE " LORD " !! JOHN IN UK.
I live in Baton Rouge. When Fats died, it was announced on the news here, but not like it should have been. His music was all about New Orleans and Louisiana. The man was an icon to the state of Louisiana in my mind. If it wasn't for the people in New Orleans giving him a most proper homegoing, I fear, well, I don't know what it would have been said or done on his behalf left to state or government officials.
Billy Marshall that’s cool you grew up with great music like fats domino did you ever watch shows like Mickey Mouse club or father knows best I am a classic movie tv and music nerd lol
Despite all the doomsday stuff we hear about 'racial problems in America"..New Orleans is still a rich, diverse gumbo of a place: where African Americans and Caucasian, Spanish, Vietnamese, French....and many other ethnicities can join hands, second line to the music, eat together, sing, and celebrate life. I am proud to be a 'NOLAN' by marriage - and MY hubby was born in Mexico!! RIP beloved Fats..
I first heard Fat's Domino's music from my grandfather lives in Tampa, FL. I experienced so many genera and such a rich heratage. He was music royalty and from the genre of doo wop came r&B Neo-Soul hip hop and pop rock because he pioneered the way for so who might not have had the chance to do so.

Just watched this....the last 5 years have been rough for New Orleans legendary musicians....now Art is gone too. Does anyone know ...that looks like Dr. John toward the end of the video.
Joachim Schmidt you're right. I made it a point to stay out of the way. I climbed fences, got in trees, on top of garbage cans, etc. The people with the cell phones were so obnoxious. They were all over the place in the way . I believe someone wrote an article about that in a local magazine or online somewhere too.
my parents actually decided not to name my older brother Keith because of the NBA player and name confusion. so i got the name instead, 10 years later, i guess my parents figured he wasn't as popular at that point. i do like basketball though.
they did the second line at the beginning and the procession afterward is tradition it was probably the biggest second line in new orleans history. just because the video looks like a party doesn't mean you gotta get all jealous of our funeral traditions lol :P
Wow...look at all of the people of different colors.....THIS IS AMERICA....NOLA 2nd LINE....RESPECT.

A wonderful performer. I was privileged to see him at the Saville Theatre in London in the 60s and he was superb. A great innings and a great loss.

None of it is focused on the deceased. Its all a bunch of loud, unorganized procession of everybody wanting to be seen.
they did the second line at the beginning and the procession afterward is tradition it was probably the biggest second line in new orleans history. just because the video looks like a party doesn't mean you gotta get all jealous of our funeral traditions lol :P
