If everyone could go out like that who would fear death. Beautiful!!!
Amen!
A fitting tribute for a great man and musician. A huge crowd on a hot and humid August day. It was a true honour to attend.
My Mom loved Pete's playing and the Dukes of Dixieland. We saw him on the Lawrence Welk Show. Can't wait to get to Preservation Hall again!
A very powerful rendition of second-line "A Closer Walk With Thee." A fitting tribute
Loved Pete Fountain. Grew up listening to him and Al Hirt. What a fitting tribute to such a talented man!
I just saw the U tube, what a fitting send off for Pete.I will always remember meeting him on a number of occasions, a gentleman.
An appropriate tribute to a great musician and a real classy gentleman. Thanks for the great music Pete!

I am the self proclaimed biggest Saints fan in England. When its my time (not just yet), I want this as my final wish. Bless New Orleans.

Great send off For a Great Musician
God Bless Pete he was a friend of the Army EOD. 45th EOD to be precise.
I saw Pete, on the Lawrence Welk TV show, many times in the 1950s. Then, I saw him LIVE, in his club on Bourbon Street, in 1960, when I was just 18 years old. His first song, which he played for 20 minutes, was "I Found My Love in Avalon."
Wow, what a send off for a giant of a man and musician. I'd have loved to have been there for that.
That's what I want at my funeral!
* DAMN!!! HOW COOL IS THIS?!!!!!
Fell in with the Half Fast on a couple Mardi Gras weeks, though I was never a tenth the musician he was.
Simply amazing!
This is the real s***. Beautiful layers of harmony. Goodbye Pete.

@@IcUrPoint Lets Trade Obama and get a real U.S. citizen who was not a globalist criminal back. Thank You Lord Jesus For president Donald J Trump and The AR-15.
R.i.p....I GUARANTEE you that 70% of those people were simply tourist that didn't even KNOW that man, just looking for a reason to drink while using the culture of Louisiana to do it-
And I guarantee the guest of honor would have been damned happy about that.
I MUST TOTALLY agree with you on that one-
I'd go with 90%-
Erica Lewis and Shaye Cohn from "Tuba Skinny" should be getting funerals like this when the time comes. Best jazz Musicians in the history of the planet. Shaye Cohn should have a statue of her put up.
Don’t overdo it. There have been countless better bands that, I ,as a 78 year old musician have heard.
Is this the best they could do for the great Pete Fountain? Terrible band!
Pete would have thought you're an asshole for saying that. So do I.
I’m sure he would have liked it...
which one is terrible? there are at least 10 bands in this video.
