Damn, since most street photos on YT nowadays are shot on 28, 35 or 50mm shooting with a telephoto lens gives it already a unique look. Now you throw in the M11M with this 75mm Noc and you get yourself really a unique set of images - and they are stunning Jamie! Even those on the day you didn't feel it so much :) Since you got the M11M I assume most of your shots are still mainly composed in camera like your M6 shots - or do you crop a lot with the M11M, since it has the 60MP (+ that beautiful Mono sensor!)? Always enjoy your videos when you publish them, awesome job as always mate! :)

28 is my focal length as well. Generally I shoot the 28Cron. For pure portraits the 75 is absolutely incredible. Not a street lens for me. A portrait lens, the separation and fall off is perfection. Great video. thanks.
If I could only have one lens for the rest of my life this would be it for sure. I tell people all of the time, this and an M10 Mono or M11 Mono and I'd just use a phone for color. Perfection in this lense.

For tele purposes I searched for the discontinued Summarit series lenses. I was able to find the 2nd gen version with f/2.4 for the 75mm and 90mm. Best lenses ever! Compact, light weight, fast enough aperture, perfect for travel and not that conspicuous when mounted on a M camera. Give those two lenses a try! Either the 1st gen or 2nd gen version.

@@jamie.dop_ Everything you can think of! Portraits of my nieces and travel photography as in landscape or seascape, at those aforementioned travel destinations strangers and tourists as tiny persons in the big vista, with the compression having a sense of dimensions.
@@jamie.dop_ Yep, that's why I love the Summarit-M series. Currently got almost all of them as the 2nd gen with the f/2.4 aperture. To complete the collection I am trying to get the Summarit-M 35mm f/2.4 in my hands. The Summarit-M series is well balanced on the M11 black and M10 Mono. With the high ISO capabilities f/2.4 is more than enough especially if you shoot street with smaller aperture or you need more depth of field with portraits. I remember years ago Ralph Gibson recommended the Summarit-M 75mm f/2.5 or f/2.4 version as a under dog performer lens.

@ similar to what you were doing picking an individual or small group typically in Borough Market or in stations on elevators. The other use is to capture detail on a steam engine or car. I use it more on my M11M than the M11 as it suits mono more for me
Great Photos! Awesome video to wake up to with a coffee. I have the 75 APO Summicron, but I don’t use it often. Great colors and sharpness. But It is very different from a 35 and I’m not yet comfortable or familiar with the focal length. But you’ve inspired me to take it out again. Did you find the 75 Noctilux or 28 Summilux too large or heavy to work with?

Have you compared the Summicron-M 28 to the Summilux-M 28 (heavy, but a sharp yet “creative” lens) and the tiny + lightweight Elmarit-M 28? I have the latter two, and am tempted to try the Cron. I too like the 28 mm focal length on full-frame cameras.
@ I look forward to seeing your results. I love the size of the Elmarit, but Summicrons usually offer a bit better image quality. If the Cron is optically superior (the MTF charts suggest they don’t have much different acutance, except the Elmarit might have a bit more aberrations)
@jamie.dop_ witch ever really, I had the Q2 monchrom for a short while and the idea of only being able to shoot b&w scared me into getting a q3 instead.. but looking back at this year 97% of all shots that is work related is b&w so I'm actually considering the m11 monochrom, and there's far to little good m11 monochrom content out there 😅
@ ahhhh Q2M to the Q3….. hmmm, that’s a big downgrade in my opinion. The Q3M may also be a downgrade when they make it. The Q2M is magical. Tilt screen ruined the Q and Monochrom all the way!

It's a great lens (I use it since one year) - but when shooting moving subjects, you must be willing to accept a significantly lower hit rate compared to modern 85/1.4 lens with AF on a Sony/Nikon/Canon. The DoF / amount of separation is about the same.
@@msamiullah001 next time fella! Sorry didn’t get round to that. I am testing the 50 1.2 Noctilux at the moment and have shot some colour! Won’t make that mistake again when using lenses like that. Sure it would have been wicked.

Great vid. Very inspiring. I love the 75mm. Using an APO-cron on an M11P or M7. Great classic reporter combination with a 35mm.

The 75 is a nice balance between Mandler and Karbe design principles.

I bought the 75 summicron 6 months ago, and I used it once or twice, I don't know what to do with that focal length!

Try this on the 75nocti for M-mount. Beautuful lense, but difficult to handle, not suitable for street.

BWXX depends on how much contrast you want, i find for me pushed a stop balances well (400)... Keep it up sir, see you on the streets ;)
