I agree with you 100%. I never understood the argument that building grip strength has no carryover. Almost any strength you gain in your upper body will carry over to some degree once you learn to utilize it. Strength is never a weakness, as Mark Bell says.
Technical training should be done on the table regardless of how you build up your strength.

I recently got a Metolius hangboard for rock climbing and have been doing 10-15 second fingertip hangs and it has helped a bunch with grip training and I can feel the carryover on the table. Great video Ivan

As someone who's only armwrestled for almost 20 years off and on and never trained grip, excellent video. I agree with everything you said. I think the strength itself DOES carryover, once you can coordinate it over to the table. I think the mobility in the wrist helps to stay iniury free also.

Thank you Ivan for this video, so much misinformation on training grippers and Armwrestling. Up until today was one of those people who tried using lighter grippers with a cupped wrist because I saw professional Armwrestlers doing it, but now I will just train the grippers the correct way knowing the strength built will be there regardless, and I will make sure to wait until 2 - 3 days later before training wrist flexion with Fatgripz. I should have known after seeing that Khaled Jashell guy from Larry Wheels channel, he is really good at the grippers like you and it is clear when he grabs people on the Armwrestling table that it is carrying over tremendously.

Grip Legend David Horne was 10+ x British Champion in Armwrestling. He trains Steel bending/snapping and natural Stone Lifting at highest level also.
Russian Nikita Yurkovets has repped a #3.5/4 and is quite good at armwrestling too.

How far can someone go using ONLY grippers? Fantastic content. Only found your channel today and i'm glad I did. I appreciate your no nonsense straight forward approach. Thanks!

Not very far, tbh. I'd just look at it as a nice supplement to whatever else you're doing. But it's definitely not useless like some would have people believe, especially not if you're just getting into more arm wrestling specific training and you're getting a lot of newbie gains. Of course there's some variables as always, but that's at least my experience over the last year or so.

all the finger flexors are powerful wrist flexors, training finger flexion will necessarily have carryover into cupping and vice versa. Now how MUCH carryover and how time effective it is might make it not worth it to some.

It's always annoyed me so much whenever people like Coach Ray and others completely disregard grippers, and almost outright laugh at anyone even daring to suggest that there's something to be gained by using them. Just because they're in a place physically where they'd not gain as much compared to people just starting out. Paul Linn too, and you can tell that he's never had any real experience with them from the way he talked about it ("you train your wrist to be open and always exposed when using grippers" etc.). You can hit your forearm plenty too, and even feel it in your triceps if your arm is completely straight and you turn it slightly.

Hi Ivan. Do you have worse and better days when you practice grip. I run CC once a week but sometimes it's very tough and no pressure against what I can have at times. I feel completely powerless sometimes and sometimes I have a very good pressure and can train hard and really push myself. I don't understand why it happens, so I've rested for a whole week. inland I can handle CC 2 but sometimes T is a pain as I usually warm up and the grip doesn't want to respond at all!

I've a question, what do u think about the differents approach for gripper (handle down or up), keep the gripper closed for many seconds and things like that for progress in strength?
    Ur opinion about Imtug gripper?
And can we go far in gripping with only grippers?
And last, little advice, try to put a little bit of fine oil on the springs point of contact for stop squeaking 🤌🏻
