  • Day 13 - Full Body Yin 🧘‍♀️
Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 13 of our 30-day yoga challenge. Today, we're embracing the deeply restorative practice of Yin Yoga, focusing on full body relaxation and release.
In Yin Yoga, we hold poses for an extended period, todays practice we will be holding for up to 2 minutes, to target the deeper connective tissues and fascia. By blocking the flow of energy to specific areas of the body we create an opportunity for deep release and relaxation. This practice can be incredibly soothing and transformative.
    What to Expect:
    - Toe Squat to stretch the feet and toes
    - Child’s Pose to relax and release tension in the back
    - Sphinx/Seal Pose to gently open the chest and lower back
    - Open Wing to stretch the shoulders and chest
    - Saddle Pose to open the hips and thighs
    - Frog Pose to deeply release the inner thighs and hips
    - Savasana to fully relax and integrate the practice
    Tips for Today:
    1. Embrace Stillness: Allow yourself to be still in each pose, focusing on your breath and the sensations in your body.
    2. Use Props: Support your body with props like blankets, blocks, or cushions to ensure comfort and stability. You may find using a cushion is especially helpful in your saddle pose!
    3. Listen to Your Body: Respect your limits and avoid pushing into pain. Discomfort yes - but know the difference listen to your body and remember Yin Yoga is about gentle sustained pressure not force.
The benefits of taking a rebound in Yin Yoga are profound. After holding a pose, a short rebound period allows the body to reset and the energy to flow freely again. It gives you a chance to notice the subtle changes and shifts within your body, promoting a sense of balance and harmony.
Well done for dedicating time to this restorative practice. Your body and mind will thank you for this gentle yet powerful approach to yoga. Share your experiences and any thoughts you have about today's practice in the comments below. Let's continue to support each other on this journey.
    Love, Renèe
