Useful guide Simon…my choice rather than the full size rack plus I would add your spoiler. It makes the 90 look much better! 😃🙂😃
Hi Richard - the problem with the full size rack are I guess
1) Wind noise
2) Fuel economy
3) Price
So the cross bars offer some advantages - but they are very close together !

@@L663 any chance the awning mounts will work with molle panel like a billiebar? Im also curious if a molle panel can go above between cross bars attached with your brackets to mount a pelican case without having to get the expedition rack. I don't want to have the expedition pack on all year but I do take 1 long trip every summer and need all the storage I can get on my 90.

What is the distance between the roof bars when fitted to the defender 90?
Good question - it is about 720mm from centre to centre - not very far apart !

Thank you. Your video was most helpful- the notches dictated the position. 720 is too close for some of the larger RTT I have been looking at. Your vid on RTT was most useful too 👍.
I only like the 90. I could fit a roof rack instead of rails but the added weight brings the roof loading too low for most RTTs however if you have off-road tyres the roof loading comes back up by around the weight of the roof rack 🤷♂️ so I would be ok. I really can’t understand why the tyres could make that much difference. I really fancy the 22” wheels and the don’t offer an off-road tyre for those wheels. So I am a bit stuck. Maybe forget the Rtt.
