Is so nice watching a video of someone who actually skilled compared to some of the other videos I’ve watched.
I saw a video a few mins ago of a cowboy installing floor panels against a wall without removing the skirting board
Thank You for the compliment!!!I appreciate it!👌
Dude, thank you for that. I've Done Construction for many years, and flooring is one of the things I do occasionally, but that actually helps a lot. piece moved over a little bit because there was slack in the cut that was covered by base trim and casing, the glue was still wet so you just moved it over to make room, and then back. Nice. Thank you.
Thank You for your comment!
I just got asked by my parents to put in hardwood in their house, I did it before in their last house and the jambs certainly my FAVORITE part (heavy sarcasm.). I’ve never hated closets so much in my life.
You put hardwood in the closets...
Truly there is very little that matches the satisfaction of observing the learned hands of a craftsman as he goes about completing work that he takes personal pride in, especially when that pride come form nothing more than the sake of it being his.
I’m an electrician and I always give the flooring gentleman and ladies their space on the job site. I have respect for them. I once tried to glue hardwood floor down to my concrete slab. Keyword tired, I gave up, it was to much like work and the gym all mixed in one. That door jamb cut that guy just did there was awesome though, it’s not as easy as looks not getting glue all over the flooring and in the joint
Thank You for the nice comment !!!
So great watching someone who actually gives a shit about the quality of work they do.
Thank You for your comment my friend!!!😉
I wish the guy that did my floor was this good. Dude left a half inch+ gap on a bunch of corners and door jambs. My floors look like crap.
Did he think courterround or base was going up? Also was there a half inch gap all around the room by the walls?
@@_saucyam_ It has a half inch plus gap with the quarter round. I measured the gap he left around the tub. 1 1/15 ". Dude just didn't care. Thats what drugs do to people.
Isnt gaps for cold temp so it dont split the wood?
ruclips.net/video/xNpqOFCixdM/видео.html
I wish the gaps he left were just so the floor could shift during changing temperatures. If it was all 1/2 inch only, it wouldn't bother me. But when I removed the quarter board to paint the walls in my bathroom, there are sections where you can see the crawl space under the house. Contractor just didn't care.
I just wish I knew how to do floors like the guy in the video.
Sometimes (98% of the times) the cheapest option isn't the best.(same goes for most expensive)
He only gets one shot at those cuts, he doesn't want glue on his hands or on his saw, and herringbone? Holy smokes, that's awesome...
David Fox,
You test fit it before you lay the glue down.
@@JEEDUHCHRI no way is that test fitted. It's tongue and groove. Extracting that piece to lay the glue down would ruin it.

You gotta be joking dude seems to be in his 30's if not older and I installed a nicer floor then him when I was 14 if you can make a hardwood floor look good with this supposed hack then I will listen till then he is a sub par craftsman like it's not hard to install laminate that has slide in place slots that run along all the edges now if he was using laminate without the edge inlays then maybe I would listen but not the case here
Did they show you how they did it. 😆
This is exactly what someone with lots of herringbone experience would do. Requires pre planning knowledge and some tricks of the trade for a successful stress free install.

This part was relatively obvious, the skilled part is how to measure where the cut should be.
Ryleigh
You get a piece of paper/cardboard the same size as the Tile. Lay it down and draw where the cut should be. Then use the paper to measure the cut on the real Tile.
@@fym6185 this is tile. It’s engineered wood flooring.

I’ve had to make cuts like this too. I’d say it’s easy, but I’ve seen a lot of people try to cut like that and I don’t know how many of us can. Idk how many split tiles I’ve seen :( lot of money. Lots of replacements.
Why does put look like he's using peanut butter

Cork underlayment, Herringbone pattern. Amazing talent. Quality job start to finish. Well done sir
Good technique, only thing I do different I round off the inside cuts to make sure I clear the door casing. Also I use a tapping block over hitting directly on the floor . But looks good

Incredible cutting skills there. Adhesive should be troweled in straight lines, should also put a thin layer of sheathing like plywood most glue manufacturers won’t warranty.
Particle board *
Was about to say same thing. Should’ve pulled the particle board. That stuff is garbage
I'm guessing there was a height issue. This floor is a one trick pony. Removal will take the particle board with it.

ABSOLUTELY awesome ! These days tools are becoming more and more wild and innovative by the means of FLAT OUT! Awesome ideas! I WITHOUT A DOUBT LOVE¡ Videos like this. Is this. The TOOL that allows you to Capturre the desired areas exact shape then allows u to lock in the shape like the. Toy i have seen so many times yet I no longer do but anyways it's. Like a square with all these little metal. Dull. Needles and when you put your hand or whatever u put on it. The needles touching u. Stay put while everything else around. Your hand or whatever fall which in turn. Allows u to see the exact shape of your hand.
This is actually really satisfying...
Yes, actualy. Because the floor will be ruined in 5 years maximum.
Makes me wish I glued mine down. I have so many areas we went over that are uneven. Will have to either redo parts or drill and fill without removing. A nice adhesive would have helped in this case. Great clean work.

What was wrong with the way that he did it? Other than the fact that you would do it differently? Why don’t you try it this way next time? Seriously why does there always have to be the I would have done it this way you should try it my way because my way is better person in the comments? Do you really think that we’re all going to turn to you and give you all of the credit and attention because you came up with a weird ass build it like a pyramid I hope you know what I mean solution? Get over yourself..
“Good luck” he says to a guy that literally just did absolutely perfect job… But because he didn’t do it as the way the installer from NYC did it it’s a bad job… Because he should’ve installed the last two pieces like a pyramid “if you understand what I mean.”
