Sleepy John Estes is a favorite along with Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee ! Willie passed me the bottle of Jack as I was up front here in Reno back in '79.. I passed it to my left after a good pull, and later the bottle was passed back up to Willie ! I saw the family band about 3 times during that run..

Great idea for a video, those old blues guys drank like fishes! Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart did a song called I've Been Drinking Again, and let's not forget the Kinks Demon Alcohol.🍺🍻
The blues and country genres have tons of drinking songs. "Whiskey River" was kind of Willie's theme song and a staple in concert. Great Merle Haggard record and I love that Rough Guide comp. Skoal.
Fantastic video and a great concept. Somehow I knew that Dead Kennedys song was going to make your list! You're right, it should have been, "drink my diarrhea."
Awesome list, sir! Got some great recommendations out of it! I think another great Amy Winehouse that could be included is "Wake Up Alone". Much like "Rehab" it's not exactly a song about drinking but it contains multiple allusions to drinking which serve to paint a harrowing portrayal of her craving for it whilst missing her loved one.
It seemed that Amy Winehouse’s decline was very rapid. I’ve seen footage of her last tour and she doesn’t know the words. The background singers were doing the singing.
Great idea, so I picked a few: Thin Lizzy - Whiskey In The Jar Judas Priest - Victim Of Changes Dead Kennedys - Too Drunk to F*ck Little Feat - Willin' Sia - Drink to Get Drunk ZZ Top - Arrested for Driving While Blind George Harrison - Simply Shady Gil Scott Heron - The Bottle Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling into Place The Pogues - Fairytale of New York + Bonus Lloyd George - Beer Sung
