Much like "Rehab" it's not exactly a song about drinking but it contains multiple allusions to drinking which serve to paint a harrowing portrayal of her craving for it whilst missing her loved one.

The blues and country genres have tons of drinking songs. "Whiskey River" was kind of Willie's theme song and a staple in concert. Great Merle Haggard record and I love that Rough Guide comp. Skoal.

I was always amazed that John Paul Jones agreed to produce The BH's. It was like when John Cale agreed to produce The Happy Mondays debut on factory. it sold about 12 copies. He also had a golf instruction channel up here when he married a Canadian girl and moved up here. Anyhow I'm a golfer and we spent much of the evening in each others company talking golf. When he mentioned he was Deans teacher at the Riviera when he was one of the teachers there I said I gotta ask you, I've read Martins both an alcoholic or tea totaller and the drunk routine is all an act. Which is it I said. He laughed and said Dean always sat outside on the patio with a water glass full of gin so everybody would think he's drinking water. He said Dean Martin was a drunk... LOL

The last time I went on was to plug Ryan Kidd’s new record. I was in less than 5 minutes. I also showed a Vox Pop record that has a naked Don Bolles on the cover. Rachel was quite annoyed. As a result she could not leave the stream public.

Too many songs about drinking from so many different genres. The list can actually go into the thousands. I have a double lp compilation from the mid 90's I believe that I can't remember the name of or the label. All songs about drinking with soundbites from movies or television series about alcohol between the tracks. Gotta do some research and get back to you.
