    I have been filling out the FAFSA for years, never received a Pell Grant. Hardly anything from my child's College as she was a transfer. Extremely disappointed as She was a top student at a Prep High School.

      Do you feel like your EFC/SAI on your FAFSA was unfairly high?

    How do we know if we qualify for the Pell Grant? We've already completed FAFSA. If we did qualify, would we find out from the university or directly from FAFSA office?

    • @TheScholarshipSystem
      @TheScholarshipSystem  4 месяца назад +1

      After filing FAFSA, you can see the summary to find out if you qualify for the Pell grant. If so, it should also be listed in your university's financial aid award letter.

    I’m going to apply as a senior age person. My died and I’m left with 200k in Parent plus loans to pay back for my daughters. It’s a huge weight on my shoulders and I need to finish my education now. I have two years possible left. So if you have advice I’d love to hear it. Meanwhile I’ll apply for the Pell Grant.

      You should definitely appeal to your school's financial aid office and explain your situation. If your daughter's are still in school, also appeal to their school's financial aid office to see if they might have additional funds to award out.

    I can see the loan part in FASFA but not Pell Grant eligibility. Where do I find that on the website? They seem to be very behind this year.

    • @TheScholarshipSystem

      There won't be a question about Pell grants within the FAFSA application. If you qualify, you'll automatically find out after applying. Here is more information directly from the FAFSA website: studentaid.gov/understand-aid/types/grants/pell

      I don't see that they have finished 2024-2025 yet. Assuming i'm correct do you know why they are so behind?

    Hello! I want to apply to a Pell grant but I to graduated from Penn Foster, an online school, am I eligible? Am I on time so I can get into college for next fall?

    • @TheScholarshipSystem
      @TheScholarshipSystem  4 месяца назад

      Each school and state has their own deadlines to apply to FAFSA. You would need to check with your school of interest to see if you are still eligible for Fall enrollment.

    Is the total amount how much you will get each quarter/semester? Or is that for the whole time in school ?

      For the academic year. But the school will break it out over each period (quarter/semester) and apply it to costs right before the start of the new quarter/semester.

      Ok thank you! So if I have a fall and winter quarter, broken down into 2 terms is that considered the academic year ? Like they will break that into 2 different payments or 4 if I was rewarded $4000? I’m trying to paint a pic of how much I will have to take out in loans . @@TheScholarshipSystem

      Say my GPA dropped but I was able to get it back up. Will I be eligible again?

    • @TheScholarshipSystem

      Usually FAFSA awards are for the whole year, but then distributed by quarter/semester.

      You would need to talk to your financial aid office. Schools have different financial aid eligibility requirements.

    Hi,
    If a person qualifies for a full
    Pell Grant.
    Does he get to keep any overage
    After paying college tuition?
    Thanx!!!

    • @TheScholarshipSystem
      @TheScholarshipSystem  4 месяца назад +1

      It is rare that the Pell grant will cover the full cost of tuition. Overage may be refunded to the student after ALL the direct costs have been paid to the school, including tuition, fees, and on-campus room and board, if any.

    Hi, I have a question! So in my award letter from my community letter, it says total $7395. In my transactions, it says Federal Pell Grant was only awarded me $3698. I was hoping I’d get money back to buy a new device since none of my devices are really suited/upgraded for college, but now I’m worried.

    • @TheScholarshipSystem
      @TheScholarshipSystem  4 месяца назад +1

      You'd have to check with your financial aid office to see why you weren't awarded the full amount. However, most awards are broken out by academic period, so you won't get the amount all at once. You'll receive some every quarter or semester, depending on your school's academic period.

    Hey! Im attending a community college, and in our specific college has a program that pays for our tuition for the academic year, after rhat i should have around 7,000$ left after the tuition. With other expenses like books and other major related costs for the year, I should have around 3000-4000$ left. Is that money completely mine? Do i have to pay that back?

    • @TheScholarshipSystem
      @TheScholarshipSystem  4 месяца назад

      It depends what the financial aid package looks like. Loans need to be paid back. If the funds are from grants, then there is no need to pay that back. You should look at your financial aid award letter to see where the money is coming from.

      FAFSA will open up on October 1 for the 2025-2026 school year. This application can send information up to 20 schools. Schools will offer financial aid, depending on the FAFSA application. Private scholarships are an additional way to pay for college. Check out our free training about our program: thescholarshipsystem.com/freewebinar/
