Haha, the third week we were full time van living we were just nodding off to sleep and I heard ruffling in our "garage" but as I said I was halfway asleep then I heard it again and was like "shit" so I shined my light back there and sure enough a field mouse was tearing a hole in our dog's food bag. That was a few months ago. This past weekend we were hanging out at a campsite during the day with all our doors open because it was hot out and I heard ruffling from the back. Went back there and this time I saw a bigger animal moving around back there. A few seconds later I see a chipmunk leap out of the back doors and run off... Definitely a weird feeling having an animal in your living space especially when your living space is a tiny box, lol. Best thing to do is just store food better (which I see you've got a new container) and they should stay away. Thanks for another video, enjoyed it! I notice you drink matcha usually in your videos versus coffee, do you like it better than coffee?
@@KamrynWalks YES that’s what I was telling people- if the mouse was in my house you know that sucks but it’s not as scary. In a car I felt so violated 😂😖 Did you get the rodents under control in your van? So far with all my scented things and keeping food contained is helping 🙏 And I love both matcha and coffee, but prefer the calm energy matcha brings. If I get coffee it’s usually decaf but it still puts me to sleep. I just love the taste tho and can’t help myself 😁 plus using matcha is easier in a car, no mess, just add milk. Thanks for watching!! 😌
@@allylovesplants Yes we got them under control for the most part. Always going to be a “maybe this could happen” type thing because we free feed our dog. But the two incidents I described has been our only run-ins so far. I might have to get a bag of matcha next time and see how I like the energy from that compared to coffee. I feel you about it being easier to just mix with milk/water and be done while living on the road, I use instant coffee for this reason. It takes a lot longer to mix with cold milk/water but I’m addicted to that coffee taste, haha.
Hey, your video randomly popped up. I moved to Maine a few years ago but I lived in Wentworth and Meredith NH and Wentworth is on the edge of the Whites. I would highly recommend going up to White Lake State Park and camping there! White Lake is gorgeous and is right at the base of Mt. Chokura (I know I misspelled that). They even have a rental shack for kayaks and paddle boats, which my ex gf and I did for the day when we forgot to bring our own. The beach there is also huge and the sand is perfect. Edit: White Lake is up by or possibly in Tamworth or Ossipee. I honestly don't remember because I think it's right on the border of the two?
I've had this song 'Here Comes the Rain Again' by The Eurythmics stuck in my head for weeks and your reminding me of it. You got that Annie Lennox stong independent woman vibe. salute
I spent most of my young adult life working on Mt. Washington and had an "off the grid" home I built in a town north of the mountain. I had trouble with mice getting through the tiniest holes in my cabin, especially when I was on shift at the mountain. An experienced woman friend "gifted" me with two kittens which solved the problem. I woke up from taking a nap after returning from my week away and they were so happy to see me that they left me a dead mouse just in front of my eyes.
Oh yeah animals will get into everything. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you find a solution for yourself. The other day I was fixing up my car and I came back to it days later because I wanted to make sure everything was okay. And there was a freaking groundhog in my engine bay. And my face was really close to my engine because I was checking to see if there was any oil leaking. And I look up and all I saw was fur and an eye ball. And I jumped up and yelled. Haha. What was funny was that I got like a broom stick and tried to push him out of there and he did not want to leave. I pushed him out and he went to the back wheels and back and forth and I was running around my car with this broom trying to get him out. Eventually he left and went under my neighbors car lol. But man I had no idea that a full ass ground hog could fit in there like that. It was raining so he was just trying to stay dry and also probably stay warm next to my engine. But anyways you seem very perceptive and very aware. I'm also like that with very subtle sounds. So I understand where you are coming from. Especially because this is your home and where you sleep. And if you want to do this more, all the things that come about doing what you are doing and how you want to live.
@@meditatewithmike4105 that is a crazy story haha- that would have me freaking out! I never knew animals did this so often, it’s comforting to know I’m not alone but also frustrated that a lot is out of my control. Hope that little guy stays out of your car.
I love the wilderness! It is my solace and place of warmth! Thrive and drive into your dreams! Live, be happy, be free!
Firewood always seems wet when you buy it.key is a good bed of coals from twigs you gather up in which you did
Yup the twigs were not that dry, I am surprised I got it!

At least it was just a mouse. Can you imagine if a sasquatch came aknockin!😮

I had to look that song up-- and thank you, that is one of the best compliments I have received! Thanks for watching 😌

Marking it's territory. Smash it or Park someplace else. 😅
Smashing is not the answer to every problem. Lol. She's technically in THEIR home.
Make sure you keep trapping for those mice. They can ruin a vehicle. I know from personal experiences
Use your horn!
I don't mean to sound ruse, but if you're scared at a place of there are animals, just leave!
@@jasonmarmor4683 This was my first scary moment, I was hoping it would get better throughout the night. Nope! Next time I’m out ✌️
