  • “Changes” (comp. Bijan Taghavi) - Take 1.
2nd SINGLE RELEASE for the upcoming TRIOGRAM album, which will be released 4/7/23. AVAILABLE NOW on Apple Music, Spotify and all streaming platforms!
Changes is a waltz I wrote to depict the general changes of life. Written during the pandemic, I wrote this as a tribute to my mentor, Robert Estrin who dealt with a lot of changes in his life as a result of the pandemic and was prompted to move from Arizona to Ohio. Musically this is depicted by the several moving chord changes and key centers in the tune.
    Bijan Taghavi (piano),
    Will Lyle (bass),
    Kofi Shepsu (drums)
    Videography: Ben Feldman
Recorded: 8/30/22 @ Trading 8s Recording Studios (Paramus, NJ)

    Beautiful!
The trio instrumentation and the block chords makes me think Bill Evans lives. But you are smoother.
    Keep up the good work.

High praise! Thanks so much for the complimentary words, Sheldon.
Since this recording, I have had the pleasure of playing this tune several times with the last drummer of Bill Evans’ Trio, the great Joe LaBabrera and it’s always a blast. We recently recorded with him and the album is going to be released later this month (TrioGram II ft Joe LaBarbera), so stay tuned! 👀
