**6/19/24 UPDATE: For those who may have already seen this set uploaded last week and wondering why this is being re-uploaded, this version includes a new 3rd camera angle from the back center of the room, courtesy of Randy Kojaku. Huge thanks to Randy! Luther and I have a rich history together as mentor-mentee, collaborators and friends; we last played together at Jazz at the Merc in Temecula, CA “the day before the world shut down” in March 2020. It was only fitting that our first time performing together in over 4 years would be back at the Merc exploring the ART OF THE DUO. Sit back, relax and join us on this journey as we explore a couple original tunes, a couple Horace Silver tunes that Luther played with the composer himself, a couple Jobim tunes and Luther's "favorite Easter tune" (East of the Sun).
Bijan I want to say I think your standard Changes deserves to become as much a staple in the repertoire as something like Stella by Starlight or Beautiful Love. Love the different takes on it with Triogram and with Mr. Hughes.
