hell yeah la dispute underground legends fasho their very influential on my music. I start listening to la dispute because of a girl I had a crush on in freshman year of highschool. Its been a longtime since then but this album and wildlife both helped me explore those feelings at that age. the honesty in bros lyrics and the whole bands delivery always keeps me coming back
I used to hate that line. thought it was an unnecessary break in tempo. Im not genuinely interested in lyrics. The overall "feel" of the song being much more important. Its obvious to me now that line is where the tempo is supposed to break and become discordant. Much like life...unexpectantly. Beautiful in execution La Dispute.
@@hunteranderson1046 they will be on tour with Circa Survive this fall/winter (2018). Here's a link: www.metalinjection.net/tour-dates/circa-survive-announces-tour-with-la-dispute-queen-of-jeans
I love bands where you can feel the mood the band is trying to push in the song. I love when you feel the hurt and the emotions of the band through their songs. I love when you can relate to a band because you share the same struggles and feelings. That's how you know a band is genuine. And this is one of those bands.
Kaylee Suiter Notice how long ago I posted this. This was before they became popular. This was before their fan-base took a drastic turn for the worse. If you only listen to their music, it has meaning, just like La Dispute
yeah i know i love their music i dont see the resemblance between la dispute and 21 piolets both bands are great but the 21 piolets fans kinda discust me no disrespect ment twards anyone
This is literally one of the most beautiful songs I know. Annabel Lee is my favorite poem in the world, and this is such a captivating form of that beautiful story.
I'm pretty sure this was inspired by E.A.Poe's Annabelle Lee, because of the seraphs that envyed them and her death ..it surely is inspired by that poem. And I love it! I adore both Poe and La Dispute!
I remember seeing La Dispute for the first time in Philadelphia about 2 or 3 years ago. This is my favorite song by them and I genuinely let a few tears fall. Meeting everybody afterwards I was somewhat speechless, my first live show and favorite band.
"He could not break apart the waves to bring her safely back in He watched her hand break through the surface once Then disappear again Forever wait inside the sea for my, my dear I hear you You speak in every curling wave And sing in every violent breeze" This is so deep, especially when you've drowned before and know people who have died drowning or almost died drowning
Why are you even here then? If the lyrics mean nothing to you or how much emotion is being put into this song and how sincere you can hear them "talk", then why on earth are you here?
Best song ever. His writing is so strong and beautiful ... how can anyone look at this and think"shitty poetry" when there are so many litary devices. And all in which flo so perfectly. His singing is perfect in all his songs.
This is the song that got me into La Dispute, and I've listened to them pretty much daily since 2017. I think if you introduced me to them with Ed Benz, I wouldn't have liked them, but once I got into them, I loved wildlife. This band is really good shit.
i think this band is more poetry with really good guitar in the background than music. still, the passion that the singer (or speaker ) emits is amazing.
This song seriously gives me goosebumps every time and have played it on repeat a lot today because im on a long car ride to the beach and its such a beautiful song
but the wind picked up...that part gets me for some reason. the guitar line afterwards is so melancholic, and it makes the tone shift so perfect. musical bliss.
i just heard about this band this morning to be exact...and their lyrics are so good, im a big fan of the modern day black metal and deathcore/metalcore and this music reminds me of chiodos a bit when they were good, and i love this band
I haven’t felt passionately about music in like 5 years since high school. And this makes me feel nearly the same as I used to💝🥲 I pictured the same scene too like a flashback ughhh 🤧
I love this song.. My honest interpretation of the song is that in the beginning, the man is deeply pessimistic and lost. And a girl shows up and rids him of this sorrow, and begins to make him happy. Yet, alas, she is caught up within the constant current of the world, the everflowing change, and she leaves him. And he hopes she will take the same advice she once gave him, and return.
I was just thinking that before I read your comment when they said the line "you think some seraph up above is trying to rob us of our love" I immediately thought of Annabel Lee !
10 minutes ago I was like "Eh...I don't like it. I don't like the vocals." Then I listened to it over and over, really listened to the lyrics as well, and now I'm in love...
As an Alesana Lover, This is really amazing! I know people think i should be insulted since they're both inspired by edgar allen poe, but this is amazing too! :)
This is honestly such an amazing album. I love pretty much every genre of music but I've yet to find another band with quite as much meaning in their songs as la dispute
Their three Ep's "Here, Hear" are all poems. And each song from this album is based off of a poem from "here, Hear" and yes this poem was inspired by "Anabel Lee" one of my all time favorites:D
Rodrigo Pichardo Wait, every song is based off something from Here, Hear on this album? What's "Such Small Hands ~ Nobody, Not Even The Rain" connected to? Honestly, they were the most impactful pieces on this album, barely above Four/Said The King To The River. But I was thinking this could be the next piece of that story. The lovers coming back to a flooded river and her untimely drowning.
La Dispute reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe. In all of the best ways, his poetic lyrics are absolutely beautiful. Does anyone else hear this song and relate it to the poem Annabel Lee, by Edgar Allan Poe? They are incredibly similar.
How are they still so underrated. I remember jamming to them like whoa they're going to be HUGE. Nope. They really deserved more.

I feel so old. This is the first song I ever heard by them
They were truly ahead of their time
Their music is beyond regular music, a poem brought to life.
It used to be that's what music was
La Dispute is like a new genre. Oh man how refreshing this band is. They're so much more than a band, they're pure artists.
12 years later, and 12 likes later on your comment, they still haven’t been recognized for it.
@@eskimojesus907 And they won't be until they're long dead. It's the unfortunate outcome for the greatest artists of the human race.
@@eskimojesus907finally small hands is blowing up on TikTok so they are getting a tiny bit of recognition
"but then the wind picked up"... amazing, it adds sooo much more to this great song!
The pain behind his voice brings me to tears. The way La Dispute tells a story is incredible.
Jordan isn't the only writer, they all compile their ideas, inspirations and experiences in order to make perfect stories. :3
Rad new band for me. It's like a mix of slam poetry, trocadero music, and angst. Some of my favorite things.
There's so much beauty in a storm.
"but the wind picked up"..so much meaning in just 5 words.
izzibizable i
Tho most meaningless words in the song imo. That's how powerful this stuff is..
I used to hate that line. thought it was an unnecessary break in tempo. Im not genuinely interested in lyrics. The overall "feel" of the song being much more important. the one piano line towards the end, and the one guy clapping at the end also hit
I think if I saw these guys in concert I'd probably cry and then faint.
i think if i see you in a concert of la dispute, i would asked you out for a date
They are even better live. Definitely cried. The most memorable concert I have ever attended. Beautiful, absolutely stunning performance.
Malphas Stolas they aren’t together anymore are they? 😔

Funny part is I showed La Dispute to a friend and he made me look up Twenty One Pilots
The passion in their songs is just...wow

my favorite song is ode to sleep
la dispute's lyrics are just always perfect and filled with so much emotion, thats why i like them. Raw expression.
Honestly their songs make me feel so much more then any other music. Literal artists.
This is literally one of the most beautiful songs I know. Annabel Lee is my favorite poem in the world, and this is such a captivating form of that beautiful story.
They have such strong lyrics, unlike some bands that just growl randomly, they sing a story. That is what I love about them the most
11 years later I’m here to tell you, this is based on an Edgar Allen Poe poem. Said lyrics are 90% written by someone else 😅
this man has some deep feelings
but this is the best sound my ears have ever taken in before
I remember the day I found this band I cried so hard.
The songs reminded me of someone. They still really do,
