- We are wrapping up week 3 of the case with the Commonwealth still considerably less than halfway through their witness list. Today we have Matthew McCabe on the stand for the rest of his direct examination and his cross. Will the Commonwealth call Jen McCabe next?
I totally agree with Andrea. Jen and Kerri were Totally messing with her head They must have really been jealous of her. I already surmised early on that JM had put the idea into Karen’s head that she hit or ran over JO. But hearing about them riding around looking for him makes me so irate. They knew what buttons to push to send her spiraling. Very Mean Girls ish

Karen has a master’s degree in finance, is/was college professor & worked for Fidelity Investments. She owns her own home & drives a Lexus SUV. I think all of the cover-up women were jealous of her.
Karen's looks, and perhaps race, might be influencing people's view that she is or must be innocent.

Very educational today. We learned that you may need a flashlight to read a paper in your hand, but you can see tire tracks across a large yard at night. We learned that although someone told this witness they saw a blob on a lawn in the early morning hours at 34 Fairview & this witnesses husband(according to her own testimony) reminded her before she left the house that they saw “them right outside of your sister’s house” and yet that isn’t where she started the search for her missing friend. Odd.
Their car was parked at the End of the driveway lovey so when he exited the house he was walking Towards the tyre tracks. When in the car with the McCabes, Julie did Not say that. The tail light was broken so the car was taken back to the house & she suggested that they search the whole house while there which was a Good idea.
Prosecution questioning of Jen today lasted 3 hours & 18 mins (after deleting 1 hr lunchbreak). Judge in no hurry to hasten Prosecution along.
On Tuesday, let's see if Defense gets 3 hrs & 18 mins for cross-examination without complaints from the judge.
We should do a poll on how many objections Lally will come up with 😄😄
To make it even more unfair, Tuesday is a half day
I hope someone is tracking the judges sustaining/ over ruling (her words, I'll let him have it) the prosecution's objections vs the defense. This is not a fair trial, yet the defense is killing it. Team Bev/Lally are no match for these attorney's.

When I found my father was decesed, i would admit I was hysterical and screaming, and I was not comprehending what 911 wanted me to do. There is no understanding of anxiety and panic. Until you have lived, finding someone you loved.
Badgering Karen while she is in shock and living this night mare, confused and paniced. Jen calling her crazy is disreptfull and shameful .

If only this judge would exercise her right to remain silent at times. She is behaving unprofessionally, showing bias and prejudice, partaking in the questioning, commenting on evidence and wearing her unwarranted frustration with the defense team on her sleeve. Not sure whether the defendant is guilty but this judge disgraces the profession and should recuse herself.

I'm so glad you said that it sounds like JB was trying to avoid going back to Fairview. That's exactly what I got from her story and would explain why Karen is loosing it when she has these delaying tactics; changing cars, going to Johns house, contacting some other contact that he may have stayed with, calling her crazy. I can't wait for Tuesday!
Not everyone bought the Kool Aid lovey & so, not everyone sees every single thing that the people did & said as sinister actions. BTW - did you miss the part where Read was Screaming non-stop when at the front of their house at 5 a.m.? Did you also miss the part where she continued the Screaming in the car?

I’ve listened to the trial. To the case being brought by the prosecution and the cross examination of the defense.
The prosecution has shown me no evidence so far that Karen killed Officer O’Keefe. And the defense has really exposed the inconsistencies of the witness testimony.
I watch trials as if I was a juror. The defendant IS innocent at the beginning of the trial. No “kool aid” no biases, no opinions determine that. That’s the law. Innocent until PROVEN guilty.
Please direct me to anything, so far, in this trial that possibly moves the needle towards guilt.
The idea that Mr McCabe had concerns of 2 women driving around without a taillight but he wasn’t concerned about his wife leaving in a snow storm driving around a “hysterical “woman is absurd. No way my my husband wouldnt insist on driving.
Nor was he worried about ANYONE drinking and driving in snow the night before.
My husband would have gotten up and dressed, there us no way he would have let me and two ladies adventure a snow storm alone, looking for John.
TBH, Jen seemed to feel very warmly towards John. Mr. McCabe was probably relieved to get rid of the competition. No more diets for him!

5:53:31 This section of her testimony after she starts talking about the fall out of the night, is actually giving a little bit of context to some of those weird details others were pointing out in their testimonies. The odd anchor points in these stories really got me even more suspicious.
…DUDE 5:58:19 that statement she just made has me thinking someone either Matt, Carrie, or Jen reached out to Brain Albert and told them she thought she hit him and to stage his body in the snow where they had seen the black SUV….I’ve had this theory for a while, but it’s becoming even more reasonable as these testimonies keep going on.
Also her looking over at the jury with some of these narrative bits SPECIFICALLY is giving Amber Heard trying to convince the jury that her emotions are real while she shows visible pain while acting like a victim but having no tears and quick switches into other stable emotions depending on the questions. It’s just so disturbing, and I bet the jury probably feels a bit intimidated too when she stares at them.

It’s notable to me that Jen didn’t trade info with Karen, and that John was communicating with Jen when they apparently arrived to 34 Fairview, then let’s say John did get out and go inside. When Karen woke up and John wasn’t there she had Kaylie wake up to contact Jen because she had her number, and Karen is probably yelling because who was the last person that John was talking to when at 34 Fairview, OR who was the person that invited them over there? JEN, so it makes sense for Karen to be wanting to be getting ahold of her now!!
Wow her lies and this collective story is really showing the cracks in their social dynamic as a group.
6:10:58 Wow! The first emotions out of her in relationship to not meeting her own expectations of her self. Hm, pattern continues. If she was even slightly emotional when referring to her calls and texts she made to John around the time when they were looking for him that would make sense, like when Paul O’Keefe was when he recalled the last message he had with John.

I always felt it very strange that Jen was texting and calling John with directions, she had no respect for Karen. And why was it so important to her that John get over to that party?? To harass Karen more with her mean girl crap, or so the guys could mess with John?
@@LalliPop-What-If-Any Hell yeah! seeing proper justice (especially in the judicial system) come to fruition fuels my soul. So while this is horrible for Karen, the kids, and the O’Keefe family to have to go through, I am so glad this trial is being recorded so they can call have a physical record of how fucked up this whole situation is. And HOPEFULLY for there to be some kind of accountability in the end, besides peoples lies being hung to dry in front of their neighbors and the internet at large!
I’ve accepted I’m deeply committed this trial, and I am going to put together some form of a thought map illustrating the various versions of events being testified to in this trial. It’s so much, but being able to visualize it in front of me and also be able to share what I create sounds really impactful as a resource. We’ll see what I do! If I make a video or something I’ll mention it here or in chat, or maybe somewhere else I dont know yet.
My goal though is to run back through what we’ve had so far by Tuesday in time for cross, but we shall see!

I know timestamps from the court live stream(court tv, or whoever had good audio) of the witnesses testimony’s for each day would be awesome. I plan to run through and record then map out each witnesses times they claim things happen over a base map of what we know did happen. First steps at least! Haha!

Why don't you people understand that witnesses don't get to go into detail about every single thing? And that is in relation to when cops ask questions at the time also.
If I recall JM placed a call, unanswered, at 04:55 to NA and then guided KR back to 1 Meadows. IMO this call was a "heads up" and expected so as to alert the Albert's that KR was on the hunt for JO. My take is that we are seeing a very elaborate cover-up falling apart piece by piece....

If they are not super close, I thought i heard her say she didn't even have Karen's number, why would Karen's first reaction be to go to Jen unless she knew they were the last people she saw John with.
because she was distraught and couldnt get back to the house herself easily AND she knew JM is family and knows the house well. I hate that she went to those nasty girls! They are missing souls!

Also the "Asian" thing was Attorney Yannetti pointing out the lack of respect Matt McCabe has for others. That was just an example of insulting rude behavior he has for people,. As we saw through-out his testimony, the man (and his wife go figure) lack any amount of class .
I also think it was more of the “outsider” theme… no effort to show respect to ppl unless they are considered in the family or in the club so to speak.

What auntie bev is doing here is expressing lots of sympathy to the jurors but is shifting the blame for prosecution dragging the F out this for 14 days with no case onto the defence by making a HUGE deal (im so sorry jury) out of every hiccup when the defence is up.
What Auntie Bev is doing is saying that the defense is wasting their time. She’s doing everything she can for the prosecution.

I think the reason they made such a big deal in the beginning about Karen wanting to go to The Albert Brothers pizza place is because they wanted to make it look like she was comfortable enough with them to say it over and over... It'll all come together The liars will be shown
With her GI issues she has to be careful of what she eats & drinks. IMO, I believe the testimony of the Greek couple (no disrespect but I struggle with Greek names). I felt they were honest & genuine & they said KR was not up for pizza & that she was drinking 'a clear liquid'. I drink water or club soda with a twist of lime!
It is the job of defense lawyers to trip up all of the prosecution's witnesses when they're on the stand & so, to show that they are lying, then & There. The defense lawyers have Failed at that job, every time.
Why are the 4 of them,- Brian Sr, Nicole and the McCabes- all so intent on placing Higgins Jeep there at the time John and Karen arrived?
First Nicole said he was plowing the driveway when they arrived, which makes no sense with a dusting on the ground. Now they are the only ones who saw the jeep with plow out front.

Big problem - unless you are used to seeing dead people, it’s super traumatic & you can never unsee it. Here she stated he was lying in his back, but in the 911 call she said they flipped him over. It’s not a huge difference, but in reality that is a big deal.
My gut tells me there's a 10% chance that jen mccabe either flees the country or disappears herself in order to escape the impending doom of alan jackson's surgical cross-examination.

Oh #MattMcCabe knew John wanted his daughter to go to that private school and that John knew Karen was a help with her getting in that school, due to her homeschooling the kids during the shutdown. He did not want to give Karen that credit. Matt's wife Jen then helped rip away that achievement from John's daughter by using her conniving devious ways, she talked John's mother into putting her in public Canton High... ensuring #JenMcCabe 's daughter has a friend there. Totally disregarding John and the girls BFF who was going to that school with her! This husband and wife are horrible people, as their testimonies showed today. Both mocking Karen's hysterical screams over and over! Who does that?! The lies are clear with them both. They make me ill and I can't stand to look at those two. I see right through them. Justice is coming.... they will be paying for all they did in this case!
I hope you are right ....but don't think it will happen in this corrupt town. They will say KR is guilty but incompetent Lally failed to prove it. There will be no justice for JO. So sad.
It really reminds me of Zachariah Anderson where the state has desire to actually investigate the disappearance and build the entire case around Zachariah based on his ex's statements. Zero evidence.

As for this case, reasonable doubt is an understatement. I agree, not intentional murder whoever is responsible. But so much shady, deceitful, dodgy behaviour by too many players.

Those texts are from Jen McCabe’s phone (tells you the owner) and they only got a small period of time of her phone. Wonder what happened after the timeframe of the order!
i’ve always thought that karen shouldn’t testify but i’m starting to agree with you. i don’t think she needs to, but it’ll give her a chance to explain certain details, and i don’t think lally would be able to make her look bad

I cant help wondering if they got the idea to dump his body on the street after Karen asked if she could have accidentally hit him? Then stalled her and went back to johns house so they can place him outside - since the road was plowed before the body was discovered… then they just kept feeding her the idea that she was responsible

I don't believe I've seen a case where the public was so keen on embracing police malfeasance, even when there's video evidence, etc.
The police reports said that Jen said she told Karen to come to her house so that they could look together. So KR coming to Jen's house was JEN's idea.
Hopefully they confront her with this on Tuesday.
I would not be a good witness because I would be the one who has a hard shell and wouldn't show any emotions. It's not the first time I've heard criticism about that... not knocking you Andrea because I hold you in very high regard... it's just that some of us are like that and I wouldn't want to be judged harshly, as I have my reasons. Anyway so glad you are covering this trial and you're the chosen one for me to watch this trial. One thing I can't fathom is how Karen could do so much damage to John unless she literally ran him over and even then he was a big, strong police man who you would think would get out of the way, unless he was so drunk he just gave in.

John called for directions again , so it seems they were not sure of the location. Even matt m said you could go different ways.

I don't believe the screaming, Jen. I don't believe Karen was saying, "we need to go to Fairview." Jen said Karen said she didn't remember going to Fairview. Also, John, a police officer, is going to let Karen drive blackout drunk.

IMO I don't believe KR confided in JM re "girl talk". They weren't friends or acquaintances. KR didn't even have JM's phone number. I think JM had a thing for OJO & was jealous of KR when she entered OJO's life & was helping him with the children. She is a HS mean girl that never grew up!
I don’t understand why you would need to say the guy wasn’t inside in a group chat . Shouldn’t everyone remember that on their own. I’d find it more believable if everyone said I’m not sure if he was there- I never saw him. Am I the only one who finds it strange that Jen saw the car outside, didn’t see anyone get out? I feel like most people would text or call & say hey where did you go? And at a party with people you know- I’d get asked - hey why are you looking out the window ? Or if I was at window, I’d come back to the group saying I wonder why they didn’t come in - it would be a conversation at the party.
I know there are good and bad judges, same as any other profession but I haven't watched a trial where one was so clearly biased.

No sense of urgency at all from Jen in searching the house.
Johns last text was at 12.14 asking "where to?". Jens following texts to him werent answered, despite her seeing the car at Fairview at 12.30. IMO John was never in the car, and possibly walked to the Albert's. Its a 38 minute walk
