    Beautiful work. I'm currently turning a piece of monkey puzzle about 15 inches in diameter. I've kept my tailstock in place as long as possible while hollowing out as I would hate it to depart the chuck and hit the floor.
    Good luck Kam from Ireland.

    Great work, wonderful grain on timber and are the glue blocks always successful? In Australia our hardwoods do need a lot of support, but will give it a go. Thanks, John.

    • @TournageDubois
      @TournageDubois  Год назад

      Thank you, John! I have had really good luck with glue blocks. Just make the face of the glue block a little concave to hold a little extra glue, and go around the piece when it's attached. I am working on a piece of Red Mallee Burl that used 2 glue blocks!

    Since you wet turned it, why doesn’t it warp and crack in 6 months?

    • @TournageDubois
      @TournageDubois  16 дней назад

      It all depends on how thin it is turned. The thinner it is turned, the less chance of cracking. Warping can happen, but the wing gives it some stability to minimize that as well
