    A very beautiful bowl So many wood turners make little tiny things and call them bowls. This is a real bowl I love it . Keep up the great work.

    Hi MARTIN..ITS A REALLY GREAT BIT OF WOOD AN YOU MADE A BEAUTIFUL LOOKING BOWL....IM SOLD ON ELM MY WIFE LOVES IT TO WE HAVE A DINNING TABLE I MADE OF ELM AND TWO OLD STYLE SETTLES TABLE LAMP OF ELM ....WE GREW UP ON THE HARESFIELD ESTATE IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE ...EVEN MY POSTAL ADRESS WAS THE ELMS ... IT WAS LOADED WITH ELM AND SOME MASSIVE TREES...SAD THING THAT ELM BUG KILLED THEM OFF AND LOADS BURNT...I WAS TOLD YOU WERE OK UP SCOTLAND AS A BIT COLDER YOURS WERE OK THE BUG DIDNT STRIKE YOU...IM STILL TURNING BUT THE WOOD IS SO HEAVY AND REAL HARD HERE AS WE ARE NOW IN N.S.W. AUSTRALIA HUNDRED AND THIRTY MILES SOUTH OF BRISBANE....YES WE DO HAVE WHAT WE MADE WITH US...WILL WATCH FOR MORE OF YOUR FILMS.....DAVID..

      Hi David Really nice to hear some of your story, The Elms are dying hear too, we have are own very small woodland mostly Elm some looks healthy but its mostly dying, at least I have plenty for turning. I understand what you mean about really hard woods, it's not a lot of plessor when the wood is so hard, constantly sharpening and very slow progress. But I'm sour there must be some interesting woods good for turning.

    Oh! That is wonderful. I truly love watching you work. You make it look so easy. I do have a question though. I notice that it doesn’t appear that you utilize an Irish grind. I’m beginning to think about the change. What is your favorite gouge angle for turning bowls?

      Thanks very much Larry. I use a 40/40 grind and something like 55 degree for the bottom. 😊
