When I was a child I played this game with no memory card. I got better and better at getting the starting areas finished until one day I had reached end game where you need to find people to help you capture the final pig. I needed 1 more person and decided I wasn't stopping until I finished the game. Needless to say I ate one of the laughing shrooms and my game softlocked as Tomba sat on the screen laughing. I was a heart broken child and now that I have an emulator I am going to finish this game. Thanks for the playthrough and the upload!
I remember when I popped the game in and had a blast. Always made fun of the absurdity of the situations especially the first time Tomba saves the elves. I always imagined them thanking Tomba just to go outside and get captured/lost again. And the laughing flowers was as close to a acid trip that I ever got as an underage nerd. Good times :)
This was my first playstation game as a kid, and I did not have a memory card... at first it took me half a day, to reach the 1000 year old man, but that time got cut shorter and shorter as I had to redo it whenever I turned on my machine.
I saw in a french video (if youy whant it, tell me), that if we don't kill the 2 violet bonsugees, they leave the powder of resurrection when you defeat the boss and transform the mushroom forest, when the yellow bonsugees replace the violets ones.
I just beated this game right now for the umpteenth time. I fucked up the little 🐖 event (that you make with the farty peach at beginning of game), you supposed to give it to the guy who cries in Baccus Village (on the left of the Red Fortune teller), but it didn't work because I broke the spiky roll that rolls back and forth in that wonky wooden bridge (between the Dwarf forest and the Charity square), you need to gently hit it, break the spikes and then push it into the water, somehow it unlocks few more events (and so the one of the little pig).
solidus21 I’m 30 as well hahah. Just started playing it after 20 years! I’ve been wanting to since then (as I never went beyond what the demo allows to). When I finish this one I’ll try to get the second. I don’t know how many there are.
I had the demo too, I played it so much one day my brother brought home the complete version, I was so happy, yes, beat it, you won't have any regrets. The second I downloaded it but never started it yet, tho I would have loved they kept the 2D graphic.
How non-linear is Tomba 1? Could you do any of the areas or bosses out of order for example? I beat it a year or two back but there were so many quests that I kinda lost track of the main path

@@LordVexxxus I finished tomba 2 in japanese, I know the struggle!
Ah yes, the furthest reaches of my toddler memories.
I remember being stuck at the house in the beginning for ages.
I was 12 when this came out I remember playing it
Interesting tactic for the Leaf Butterflies.

That was amazing, watched from start to finish! Nostalgia overload

karsten69 WR pace
Holy crap that would be annoying 😅
Same, but I wouldn't beat the game until I had a memory card. Too cryptic and frustrating when you're only allowed to play a few hours a day.
SAME
I was a complete fool to think i could figure everything out and complete this game.
Nostalgia recently hit me, I never beat this game, heck I couldn't even complete the dwarf's village. Good stuff
My favorite game! Executed nearly flawlessly! Great job, good run, much respect.
29:36 - 29:47 :)
Didn't know you could do it so quickly, great work
Someone needs to submit a GDQ for this
This is my favourite game of all time.
THEY NEED TO REMAKE THIS GAME!!!!

I’d love to see like a 2D anime style remake
@@beatzguy Im actually fiddling around with ue4 a little and try to make a 3rd game instead of a remake :D but its only a 1 man project for now.
@@3colors93 Great idea! How's it going????
I think the part most impressive than the fact you remembered the whole route was the branch grab at 2:59
Best childhood game ever
whoa, back in the day, it took me at least a month to finish
When I was a kid all I had was the demo on PS1, now I'm an adult I get to watch speed runs on youtube.
I freaking loved this game. Like no one knows about it. Have never been able to beat it
i played for years and never finished it once. i need to do it
Today I just thought back to when I played on the ps1, and I was like what are all the games I played. Damn I miss being a kid.
Thank you, a masterpiece for sauvage guys who love dogs and enjoying nature ! ! !
There's just no way i could've beaten this game as a child. Complicated ah
I'm amazed that I made it halfway in this game back when I was 10 (my version was Japanese and I don't know a single word in Japanese)
that is impressive, the japanese version is so jank

they do, but you miss an event if you dont fight them twice
I miss this game.
I don’t know how as a 9 year I could have finished the game. I got stuck at baccus village and stopped after that.
This has to be the most confusing game I ever played as a kid. Never beat it, but I sunk a lot of hours into it anyway.

And tbf, I'm 30, but I never never and say never gonna be tired to play it. It such a good and cute lovely game.
