It was bitter sweet to see his lovely wife got to see him win this award and thanked her.
She was so proud.
R.I.P Helen...
Man I feel so bad for the guy losing his wife like that 😣 he didn't deserve that. Poor guy lost his mum too early, and now the mother of his children too early. Life really sucks.
Guys, watch Homeland and you will see how Damian Lewis is a brillant actor, he deserve it. Nicholas Brody is a great character like Walter White.
true ! Damian Lewis is brillant ! (I like him in LIFE , in Forsite...etc !)
+No hay nadie yup...band of brothers, now billions
No hay nadie True that he was brilliant .
Big Breaking Bad fan here, but i absolutely agree. Damian was fantastic as Nicolas Brody in Homeland and absolutely ruled the seasons he was in.
Brody was such a great character👍
he is so loving to his wife and children... yay Emma awards..
His role as Brody was beyond compare; very moving, and enhsnced/complemented of course by the amazing Claire Danes. Just wonderful tv.
Little known fact: He was actually wearing a bomb vest at the Emmys.
Ridiculous
Lee Pace you have to watch Homeland to get the reference. Don’t wanna spoil it.
No!! Is this true?
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
not only a brilliant actor but with a lovely sense of humour! Love you Damian!
I have been a big fan of Damian Lewis since Band of Brothers. He was great as Dick Winters. Well deserved for his amazing work on Homeland as Brody!
Honestly this guy is one of the best of his generation. Band of brothers need I say more?
Watched Band Of Brothers again recently. It just baffles me how this guy altered his voice to play Major Richard Winters. Same for Homeland. That is super impressive.
The final scene of the episode he was nominated for was one of the best scenes on TV I have ever seen. He became absolutely possessed. I was mesmerized.
WTF? BRODY IS ENGLISH? HAHAHA THIS A SURPRISE. HIS AMERICAN ACCENT IS GOOD!
+VICMEL EPRES Haha just found that out too! I've never seen Homeland but that realization just made me look back on all the Band Of Brother's episodes with shock! Lmfao its funny as shit that probably the best American commander in BOB is actually british.
tankmaster1018 You should watch it.It's good shit. Only show that I'm watching right now that TWD is on break.
+tankmaster1018 half of the BoB casts are English actors. The actor that played Liebgott has a thick English accent in real life.
VICMEL EPRES GOOD? It's fucking Perfect
VICMEL EPRES - Said everybody who watched Band of Brothers sixteen years ago.
Most Deserved Emmy Award Ever. Damian gave an outstanding acting performance in Season 1
This actor is AMAZING!
amazing how brits can do american accent with ease. Didnt kno he is a brit
Niño Paulo Reblando I watched band of brothers like 100 times and Im use to hear him speak with an american accent
What an incredible lineup of truly talented and gifted actors.
Helen 💔 RIP
Hamm's reactions every year are so sincere, he definitely deserves an Emmy by now and to be that nice about it after losing year after year is unreal
Bryan Cranston and Breaking Bad are light years ahead of the competition but Damian Lewis' performance in Homeland was pretty darn brilliant so well deserved.
I fell Bryan should've won simply for the ending scene in crawl space.
Michael C Hall is every bit JUST as good if not better an actor than Bryan.
@@RevenantEternalidk, Bryan in crawlspace is just... A Masterpiece
Strange listening to him speak in his native British accent after watching him on Homeland. Incredible acting. Band of brothers too.
I only just realized he’s married to Helen McCrory. So between Peaky Blinders and Billions...holy shit what I would give to have dinner at their house. I need to look up more of Helen’s work but she is absolute dynamite on Peaky Blinders🤗
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂✌🏻
The voting commitee probably knew Cranston's trophy room was already at capacity. However, I love Homeland, and Damien is awesome to watch.
But cranston is the best...
+Heisenberg XD i know but i guess Season 4 focus more a little bit more on Hank , Gus, Mike and Jeasse, Walt is too paranoic for show his great performances, nevertheless The Father and Son Scene in " Salud " the Freak out in " Crawl Space " are good points
@@danielgrimes8312 Yes! The "other" main plot of Salud between Walt n Jr. is incredibly acted... easily RJ Mitte's best work as well, and for me actually makes Salud a more consistent and probably better quality episode than Crawl Space. Granted, that's like picking your fave child; just agreeing re: a generally overshadowed BrBa plotline amongst the flawless rollercoaster of Season 4.
What a incredible group of actors.
Quinn and Brody in the interrogation room. One of the finest and most intense scenes in Homeland thus far.
Damian's American accent is pretty damn flawless. Well deserved. Homeland is a superb show.
Rest in peace, Helen McCrory!
He was the first one to defeat Heisenberg, so I got to start watching Homeland right now.
Tell me hows that?
This guy would make a great james bond
He deserves a separate Emmy for beating out Walter White,Dexter & Don Draper at the same time !!!
That's gotta be the greatest collection of lead actors on a ballot. Filled to the Brim! & They picked the right one, almost a decade after I finally saw Homeland. Dang, how did I miss that, but you can't watch them on at the same time.
Michael Hall: "That should have been me"
Lmao I could read this lips too
lol
Wow! Yes, I know I'm responding to a 5 year old comment, but good catch. I happen to very much enjoy all the actors that were in this category that year. I'm a big Dexter fan, but, c'mon, Michael, you've got to be a good sport about it.
loved him and Helen together, you can see how much they loved each other💔
I am stunned at your work, I love homeland...
Can't wait for 3#1!
Outstanding, outstanding...
I love Steve, Bryan and Damian. Great job Mr. Lewis!
One of the greatest and favorite actor of mine....
That is a huge bow tie!
Damian Lewis the Best I love Brody ❤
Britts are such great actors !
Amazingly good 👍
Same with Ruppert Friend playing Peter Quinn, unforgettable !
Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) is Bobby Alexrod... he changed his name after faking his death in Homeland... this is why Carrie (Claire Danes) had an illusion of him being alive and comforting her... he really was alive... that's how he made his billions.
I love all these shows and actors, and i have to say, this was still a huge upset. he was going against some of the best in the biz.
Damian and Rupert Friend have brilliant American accents. Brody must have been an awesome character to bring to life. This award was well deserved.
After last night's episode of Homeland, we will be seeing a repeat of this next year. Amazing acting!
I first saw damiens raw talent in Poirot`s Hickory Dickory Dock" where the amazing David Suchet forsaw his talent immediatly! (told in a documentary).
Then... "Band of Brothers" where he yet again proved to be a brilliant actor!, What a fantastic serie.Damien Lewis shone in is role.
Last but not least Homelands "Brody".. True art!!!
Well deserved Damien Lewis :)
he is truly amazing!!!
I love the way he thinks..Art should not be judged :)
Reidun engh Me too
About time he was recognized as the brilliant actor he really is !!!
He is an amazing actor!!
0:46 We can say that Brody was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Carrie, Saul and Quinn... It would be possible to clarify the following doubts:
- Would you like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press?
- Clearly, Javadi's ability to receive credit for Brody's capture helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder?
- Was your name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you think.
- Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. He ended up doing that scene ... why ??
Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and she succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else.
Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was incredible, it will be one of the most memorable moments in the series, without a doubt!
“And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see what you see in him. That happened. Everyone sees it through your eyes now ... ”
- How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see this? It's the world?
The 3rd season did not correspond to the 1st and 2nd as it should be.
Compared to most seasons it was weak, as the plot and plot issues that were overlooked or addressed briefly stood out in season 3. There was no "hunting" in Brody's scenes earlier in the season to make it look like he really was desired NOS.
Where Roya Hammad and his terrorist partner M.M. They were?
We never received an explanation for the events surrounding how Brody's car was moved and his involvement, only what we got was the "real" author of the bomb at the CIA in a hotel that we must believe to be a super leap that changed the script. For such an investment in storytelling around Brody's family over the past 3 seasons, for him to just disappear the way he did, it was a waste of time - to make Dana's story worse, it was shallow. And all those scenes about Mike and Brody's wife continually in love with each other, and just ending up in season three were useless - and Brody's son disappeared. What about Brody's marine friends who thought he was part of the conspiracy? And Quinn's underutilization throughout the season after being instrumental in the beginning of the second season's premiere.
All positive points, they should have made the homeland a show of this 3rd season and address every possible plot!
Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave us, in Damian’s words, “two broken-winged birds sort of hobbling and circling around each other” in Carrie and Brody in such a compelling way that even though it really ended in tears, it was a GREAT RIDE as long as it lasted. And if you miss these two as much as we do, you may want to re-live the LOVE with Carrie and Brody: Was It Love? YES.
Homeland had a sensible ending, closed all of Carrie's stories, while continuing the ongoing story of America's and Russia's rivalry. The series ends, but does not end, only better than that was seeing all these years incredible performances by Davis, Damian Lewis, Rupert Friend and Mandy Patinkin ...
Damian Lewis is such a class act.
He's a brit.. Damn he sounds awesome.
Marine one was acting at its finest, well deserved
Even Bryan Cranston deserved to win, I have to say that Damian Lewis' Performance in 'Marine one' was pretty good and maybe deserved also. I'm not that pissed off with his win, but with Jeff Daniels win I cannot understand what they see in his show, even his performance wasn't bad but underdog comparing to Bryan Cranston or Lewis or Spacey, damn it even Hamm.
Amazing competition: MadMen, Breaking Bad, and the rest…they all deserved an Oscar 👏
So that's how he actually sounds like!
Omg I just now found out he was British after watching this clip! He truly is amazing!
Cranston should have won just for the ending scene of the episode "crawl space"
Brody speaking English accent still mindblowing🤯
Damian can win every nomination he gets
I just started, let it sink in bud!
Well done Damian!!
best of the best
1:49 Bryan Cranston thinking of ways to Heisenberg Damian Lewis one time. LMAO!!
1:52 Michael C. Hall leans over to his friends and says "He's gonna be on my table by the end of the night."
They were acting like it was the only time they were going to get an Emmy.
Damian Lewis and Bryan Cranston are awesome!
Nice reaction from Hugh Bonneville at 0:56
His accent is amazing
Damn that was a tough category!
He'll probably win again this year. Despite the flaws Season 2 suffered in its latter half, Lewis's episode submission is all he'll need to claim a victory, and if it's "Q & A", then I think we can call it early.
Oftentimes, actors faking an accent will break their character's voice when they have to yell in a scene. This guy yells a lot in Band of Brothers and Billions, never breaks character.
Good guy Damian, wins emmy, says the other nominees deserve an applause too.
His accent kept slipping back into American lol - especially when he says 'umm' I know that sounds weird but if you were British you'd notice it
He has said before when he is in America, especially if he has been acting in American, he can be unintentionally speaking American just going around the city.
hugh laurie and MCH must have been so pissed that they never won an emmy.
btw he totally desrved it! Outstanding job!!
I felt Bryan Cranstons acting had left a bigger impression than that of Damian Lewis, no doubt in my mind Bryan should have won (again).
Bryan Cranston is amazing and so is Damian Lewis. The year 2012 was the only chance for Lewis to win it and he deserved to win it and thank goodness he did. Bryan Cranston got to win it again this year. IMO Bryan Cranston and Damian Lewis are two of the best actors right now, small and big screen included. I hope these two will one day get to prove their extraordinary talent on the big screen and win the Oscar.
canuck21 Ditto.
Not sure who this Damian Lewis guy is, but i'm sure that Bryan Cranston deserved that price.
I am here 2020 for michael c hall (Dexter)
I agree. Damian Lewis is great, one of my favorite actors. Still, Cranston (just look at "Crawl Space") deserved this. Lewis will prob win again tho. Q&A was great. I'd like to see Breaking Bad win best drama tho, Homeland doesn't deserve it this year.
What a field
Okay so I know that Damian Lewis is great, but this season of Breaking Bad was the one where Walt breaks down into screaming, crying, and insane, hysterically, fucking terrifying laughing in a crawl space when he realizes there's no way out. And that scene was the best acting in the history of television.
Which is why I said give it to him or one of the others for this 2012 Emmy's. And no. He was not nominated in 2011. I specifically have seen the video. I don't think you have though.
I just saw homeland season 1&2.
Lets b real, they're all winners!
Have you watched homeland? I adore breaking bad but this was well deserved
Nicholas Brody
sersan nocolas brody,, i like it...
Wow watta line up.
Hugh Bonneville and Micheal C Hall had never won an emmy. Bryan Cranston on the other hand had won 3 for Breaking Bad. And Damian Lewis had won 1 for Homeland and 1 for Billions recently. Its quite a huge achievement. He is a brilliant actor.
I don't think he won one for Billions? Or am I crazy?
1. Damian Lewis/Bryan Cranston
2. Steve Buscemi
3. Jon Hamm
4. Hugh Boneville
5. Michael C. Hall
YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS FINALLY hes getting the praise he deserves this man is fantastic actor and does a better job on his american accent than dr house does
Watching this makes me miss Helen so much.
Brody was my favorite character dont know why he exited
2:18 lucky man.
This man would be a brilliant choice for Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in the MCU
After watching him in "Band of Brothers", I have to admit, I was shocked when he talked. How do these guys lose their British accent... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Band of Brothers / Homeland / Billions = Elite TV star.
I don't think Bryan Cranston should have 4 Emmys to be honest but if ever he fully deserved it (not saying he didn't on other occasions) it's for the crawl space episode. Lewis was great but that was probably Cranston's best work on the show other than maybe the phone call scene in Ozymandias (as an aside I think Lewis should've won the next year for the Q&A episode)
Fuck up
GiantSandles did you see Lewis' bunker scene
Bill Yobfas Yes and it's great but Cranston in Crawl Space is some of the best acting I've ever seen in anything
Axe is doing great.
1:53 Michael C. Hall telling his wife - "That should have been me"
Well season seven was the best post season 4 and ray stevenson taking the season 7 and walking away with it and owning every scene hes in didnt hurt
It is unfair with Bryan that he lost in 2012 but also unfair with Damian him losing in 2013. Damian Lewis and Bryan Cranston BOTH have outstanding performances in 2012 and 2013 so why couldn't they share it, BOTH years???? LOL
I mean, it has happened before with the Emmys and the Oscars, so why not?
한국어 번역해주실분 ㅠㅠ
He should've won for billions too
I love both Homeland and Breaking Bad. They're my two favorite shows at the moment, along with The Sopranos. I've seen both "Marine One" and "Crawl Space" and I have to say, Bryan Cranston deserved this. Damian Lewis is still awesome though!
Haven't seen Homeland but it looks like a deserved win for Lewis. Bit disappointed Michael C. Hall lost though, he better get an Emmy before Dexter ends.
Hahaha Michael C Hall is saying: that should have been me
Brody💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
