Been following for a while now, genuinely can't wait to see you rip the track on this thing!
Bro, this might be the most I’ve ever heard you say “Ahhh” ever 😂
Amazing work! Please get it thoroughly cleaned inside out (especially inside, also boot and hood)!
Nice work Jeff! You may have done it even faster by not removing the front brakes and uprights from your car. Just undo the steering rod ball joint and the 3 upper nuts for the shock on the body and you can swing the full strut out of the wheel arch. I did it twice, it works.
Great wheel choice! I have been running them on my track car for years. Very light and strong.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome Jeff, great work
It looks so much better.i saw ppl were saying about getting cold air unto the engine bay but also getting hot air out is a good thing too .gotta be one of the best looking cars now 👌
Having discovered this build I have binge-watched the whole series this week! Looking forward to future episodes to see what you do with set up - I have just put Ohlins on my Cayman and had my first track session - they were awesome. 👍👍✊
I hope this at least gets a rear lip style spoiler.
Like the ride height!
Keep up the good work!!
Wheels look mint. That hard lid made a massive difference looks tuff
Looks good. Keen to see it on track soon. However, just keep in mind some scrutineers don't like spacers as they can be a safety risk even though they are bolt on. I got pinned for mine and I had arp wheel studs on mine, so double check you can run them at the events you are looking at. Buy keen to see the progress.
Joined your channel because of this Boxster, as I'm a Gunna. I'm gunna build a Cayman track car. But got caught up in the Alfarrari. Glad to see a new episode
Nice, I use these wheels on my 996 too. Super light, stunningly beautiful!
Looks great!
Looking good Jeff 👌
The Porsche is looking more and more like a Cayman. Love the new look and stance!
Good Choice for the Wheels, very light. Some AP Brakes will really be a Good choice. Lightweight, race proved and good on the road. Also a Proper spoiler and front splitter will really help in the corners, maybe along the lines of the GT4 !
To bleed brakes with vacuum, you could put some grease around the bleeder not to suck in air. Even better is to use teflon tape on bleeders when installing them. I also recomend quickbleed bleeders. They have oneway valve built into them 😉
Or rathe. Goodridge speed bleeder😅 those have the valve built into then. So to bleed the brakes you simply crack the bleeder, put a hose onto it and pump the pedal.
Looks amazing 🎉.
This car is looking better.
Wicked, mid week home built🤙
With the fastback style roof and the track suspension and wheels, its looking proper serious now.
Let me know when you need someone to help drive it! :-)
looking sharp!
I had the exactly same problem when bleeding, use vaseline arround the nipple to avoid air coming through the threads, works like a charm!
Vacuum bleed sucks.
Nice wheels, love Oz wheels.
I'm familiar with the issue you mentioned with vacuum bleeders. Air will enter from the treads, and you are seeing bubbles on the bleeder hose all the time. I solved this issue by starting the bleeding process by removing the bleed nibble and adding some thick grease to threads before reinstalling. The thick grease will prevent the air being pulled in through threads. sometimes
sometimes if I have been lazy I have just smeared the grease at the bottom of threads, but that way the seal might not be as good.
The pressure bleeder saves all of that stuffing around ;)
Very cool project and at the same level of all your other cars. Don´t do it too track car, keep some comfort inside and noise dampening. Greetings from Barcelona.
At least you know you can run Dakkar with the ride height set to the highest … 😂
The wheels look great!
Hello from Brazil!!!
Would love to see a retro livery on this, like Gulf colours or Martini.
Understandable you wanted some time off from the alfararri. You really weren't enjoying yourself in the last video
I think you should go with Rocket bunny kit 👌
I think this would look awesome with a vinyl wrap.
How were the bushings in the control arms Jeff? Surprised you didn’t swap them out whilst you were in there. Lovely wheels by the way!
Got the same wheels on my black 996. So much lighter.
I think any extra air flow to the engine will be supplied through that horrendous gap in the rear bonnet. Is there anything to be done about that? Or is that the way it has to stay?
That poor old Roxter, it's still a bit sad looking Jeff, but it should be great fun at the track so long as that Audi V8 keeps its timing chains in the allocated spaces.
Belts ;)
@@HomeBuiltByJeff much better then, pardon my ignorance. I've seen the Audi chain drive V8 setup, it's full of twists, turns and tensioners.
When are you going to fix the holes in the Roxster's frunk lid?
Would love to see a quick and dirty paint job on this thing
That’s what the roller is for!
Are you going to be taking the paint roller and stick (15:30) to the track with ya? .....sorry I just had to
Jeff. How bad is the closure of that rear hatch ?
Looks like the entire contour is out by so much.
Looks great. So confirming that you left the preload as they came out of the box? I've got a set of Titan waiting to go on my 996. Were you tempted to replace some suspension bits while you were there? Coffin arms, lateral arms etc? I got mine out and they were shot.
I will get to that, but this is a good start.
I don’t have any track day mates 😢 I don’t have any mates come to think of it 😂
Wonder what the weight difference is between the two engines?
Go back and watch when I weighed them. Less than you think ;)
Can't wait to catch up at World Time Attack. My car will be less ready than yours so I'm watching from pit lane 😢
I agree 100%. I bought the exact same vac bleeder for the bike and it's a piece of rubbish. The idea is excellent, but it just sucks to much air and never, ever seems to work as advertised..
Not renewing and upgrading the bushes?
Alleggerita should be on the other car 😂
🍺👏👍🏻
Just how many projects have you got going?😂
No news of Mrs.Jeff?
Naah the style of wheel doesn’t fit that car but hey, it’s a track car! Function over style👌🏻
Leaving it black Jeff?
Nope ;)
why buy wheels that require a spacer on your vehicle???
This car needs a rear wing
Yes it does :D
That engine sounds a bit rough 😬
Jeff, I think the biggest upgrade for performance would be trading it in for a real Porsche.
But where would the fun be in that? 😆
What makes the Boxster not a Real Porsche and don't tell me the Engines not hanging out the Back of the Car??
Porsche has moved their engine in the 911 towards the center of the car more and more with each new model. Clearly even they know that mid engine is the smarter way, but for marketing reasons they can't admit it..
It’s not a Porsche. Jeff says it’s a Porsh… often 😂
If you don't offer to take the previous owner for a spin on the track just so we can actually see the legend themselves I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say we'll be very disappointed in you Jeff.
Road Legal? those Spacers are not Road legal anyway....
you will never have a racing car with spacers. Start study geometry
It would be more ideal to have a wheel with the correct offset in the first place, but it's not spacers that hurt the suspension geometry, it's having the wrong effective wheel offset. Without the spacers, these wheels would sit too far in because they have a different offset than factory.
Frankly it still is the ugliest Porsche Boxster in Australia. You're not doing the car any favours. This car doesn't seem to get a break.
With a V8 in that light car, will you install any aero on the rear to help with downforce?
