Those fittings and couplings weren't glued with pvc cement. Because pvc cement doesn't glue the fittings together, when properly applied, it welds them. heating them only enforces the bond. But in the event that they weren't primered before they were glued together, they wouldn't cure evenly, which is probably why they had to be removed...they leaked betcha. Sure, you could separate the pipe from the fitting if they were just fastened with ordinary blue glue, but you still couldn't use them for anything and expect them not to leak. But let's say they didn't leak and were removed for whatever reason, the only way you could reuse them would be to just add a female couplings to each remaining pipe stump making the fitting a little longer but usable.
I thought the same thing for years too, until I tired it with Purple and grey on SCH80. Surprisingly It does remove the weld. These are primitive methods shown in this video that can mess up the pipe you are trying to save, but will work. A pipe Debounder does this with great results.
Waste of time, elbows and other fittings cost next to nothing. I wouldn't trust any of those after they've been glued once already. After you heat them up they probably expand too making the new pipe loose fitting.

I boiled water and pour on it. And applied little force.. It came out.. Now I can replace it by my own... No need to call plumber.. 😉

Save your time and money people, just go buy new fittings unless the zombie apocalypse has started and you cant find any. Keep in mind this video didn't show these parts working under pressure.
Thanks much. This vid helped a thousand. Used the BOILING WATER method. Some of the parts were re-useable. I place them in the hot water....shaped them round with pliers......then....placed them on a normal piece of pipe....and let it cool.
Good idea with the candle hacks. The elbow fitting would not defect too much as the candle is likely heating the pipe more than elbow. My opinion using the candle better than boiling it. Boil will defect the fitting as well.
Please never use this for any line that might see any pressure, you'd be asking for a leak. Why take the risk when you can get a nice new fitting for pennies?

Its true the fittings are expendible. What you might want to try saving is the pvc pipe. Maybe you wish to preserve the angle, length, etc. In that case you would cut at the middle heat and cut the fitting halves sideways. Heat with a blow gun and peel off the fitting pieces with nose pliers.
Good idea, but i have some doubt in reusing it as it appears that the fitting is deformed by the heat applied with both candle and boiling methods.

Even when primed and glued properly you can disassemble with heat. Heat gun works better than any method shown here. Try it

You can't do this with fittings I've put together. Because once primered and glued, the pipe is welded to the fitting. Making it one piece.

On the 3rd. Show us the pipe your gripping, it might be deformed because of too much pressure from your hand while its still hot
Heat makes pvc very brittle. If you've ever cut a pcv hot water line with a pvc cutter and had it shatter instead of slice thru you'll understand.
