Hi everyone, Anja here, and today we are making a C2C blanket in the form of this magic play blanket. As you know I've been winding yarn with my yarn winder for a few weeks and I made some yarn cakes using all my scrap yarns (SSDK) and called them my magic cakes. Of course, I had to make something with them, and here is the result: "C2C magic play blanket". I hope you enjoy this video. Anja xx

@ophelia talks. TIP: When you are doing a project of scraps of yarn its best to follow the natural color spectrum. It is more flattering. ROYGBIV. Red,Orange,Yellow,Green,Blue,Indigo, Violet. When you do your next msjic scrap yarn cake.
Lashawna Brady thanks for your comment but that is not what this video was about.... it was purely for using up scraps that you have laying around I had been winding them up as and when .... like doing blind dip with the yarn in your basket... doing it without planning or without thought, just seeing how it would turn out .... Hi Anja. It's been awhile since I have said hi or watched you on live stream. What a wonderful, fun idea to do a c2c. I think the next 1 I do I'm just going to get 3 or 4 cakes and make 1 like you. Oh my goodness Anja....I love the cake idea! I have balls of scraps in a huge Rubbermaid tote but this would be so much more organized.
My husband winds all my yarn for me😉he said the cakes are his next project because he can pick and choose colors for me!!! Awesome idea! Awesome blanket!!!!

I actually like the border less look. In fact...The last 3-3 years inquilted, I went more for shapes of color...rather than traditional blocks, and no borders,.,

I'm only ½ through this blanket. Mine is about 50 inches. It's so much fun making and getting rid of my scrapes. And making your scrapes into CAKES helps alot. Thanks for a different blanket pattern for my scrapes. I usually make a granny square blanket from scrapes. This is much faster and fun to make.

Hi Anja, Again this is a beautiful blanket and beautiful colors. As you were finishing up your blanket I was finishing up one of your play blanklets that you gave to your husband goddaughter, the pink and purple one. I did a rainbow one with purple as the main color. Now for the next play blanket I will start that one tomorrow. I used my scraps to practice the ripple stitch before I did a ripple stitch with the colors I wanted when I finished the scraps blanket y dad liked it so well he took it and put on his couch to use to cover up with

I hope Teddy finished his cake 😂. I love C2C, I’ve been making small lap blankets for the care for the elderly ward in my local hospital. I’ve got a wool winder now, so I’m going to wind all my left overs. Thank you Anja for inspiring us all.

I have so many different brands of yarn so it's really hard to make a cake from my scraps. I don't like to mix yarn unless it's REALLY similar not just in size, but in the way it feels also. I'm awaiting my very first ball of Stylecraft right now. If it's anything like Scheepjes Colour Crafter I will be happy!!! Colour Crafter is one of my favorite!!!

How do you join all the bits of yarn before you wind into the ball?
Do You have something against magic knots ?
Maybe U dont `t trust them
Christine Johnstone yes that is correct Christine! I don’t trust them.... if they come undone there is nothing to work with to correct it !
