I really have so much respect for people who actually commit on crocheting/knitting those GIGANTIC blanket. Just how much time and yarns you need to do that is unbelievable.
Hey thanks😊 this year I have crocheted about 8 blankets for my nieces and nephews for Christmas and and still have 2 more to make for my best friend and her daughter. ❤️
That is such a sweet (if admittedly high-effort) way to ask someone to be your bridesmaid. I hope each one of those girls felt loved, and that her wedding went amazingly. Whoever is marrying her is a lucky man.
@@fchow7132 normally "extra" denotes something over-the-top obnoxiously. Idk if thats what you meant, but I think it's an amazing gesture! You'd keep it for decades probably
I agree. I fear that I’ll get mocked and people say it’s an “old lady” thing. But, I gave my great grandma a blanket I made. Over 5 feet long. Took me 6 and a half days to finish it of nonstop working. It was nice…She used to make beautiful blankets/quilts for her grandchildren and others. She can’t since she’s too old now sadly. It was my first blanket I’ve ever made. Very vibrant colors too. She loves handmade things, and she loved crocheting. It’s such a therapeutic hobby for me and probably for lots of others. It’s a skill I’ve engraved into my mind to hopefully never forget.
I also forgot to mention that a handmade gift is such a nice thing. Especially when you understand how much time and effort is put into it. I wanted to quit so many times but I pushed through the lack of motivation.
@@adrianushale6851 I was taught crocheting at the age of 12, and I've crocheted since. In my country, Italy, that is truly considered a hobby for grannies, spinsters, and losers, and I've been made fun of for decades. Not any more now, because I'm 58, even though people at times are confused because I am also a tattoo collector and I have many of them. It's as if one who loves tattoos can't love crocheting and vice versa 😆 I have made a huge, colorful, granny blanket for my bed too. It feels so cozy and joyful. I also love crocheting lace curtains, even though they never seem to come to an end lol Let's enjoy what relaxes us and give us happiness ❤
Awww! The blanket that lady made for her nana was so sweet. Such a beautiful blanket!! All of these compilations make me want to make another blanket ☺️
In 2020, I found one of your crochet TikTok videos. Now I’m *hooked* and able to make so many things. Working on a blanket for my grandma at the time I am writing this, but I would like to say, thanks for showing me this community.
Crochet is so gorgeous and seems to be easier on a beginner to finish something substantial like a blanket. I've been doing something different these days. I often find larger pieces of crochet work in thrift stores. They aren't usually big enough for a full size blanket so I take them home and figure out what it will take to finish them. I use up my odd skeins if the colors go with the item. I've finished 2 big blankets this way. I'm currently repairing and adding to a granny square afghan that is going to be awesome when finished. These are great beginner projects as they can take less yarn, use up oddball skeins you already have, are usually only using one or two easy stitches like single and double crochet and are already halfway done or more when you start the project. Low stress upcycling is how it feels to me.
Before anyone asks, no you can’t get a blanket cheap or for free. Not unless someone choices to make it for a gift. Blankets can take hours, days even weeks to make, depending on size and skill. depending on the kind of yarn used, skins of yarn go for 5$ to 20$+. It’s usually takes several skins, thus it’s expensive to make them. Seriously my last baby blanket cost 30$ worth of yarn.
Currently doing my second blanket. My first was a baby blanket for a friend. This one is for my brother. It’s made of all this random rough grey yarn I had, and since he camps I’m figuring it’s to go over a sleeping bag for extra warmth, so the yarn texture doesn’t matter. Sadly I don’t think I can finish it for Christmas, but maybe for early spring!
I enjoyed your video. All the different people and projects were fun to see. I love crocheting regular and Tunisian and can do a touch of knitting. I’m glad I found you today!
I’d love to do a mental health variant of the temperature blanket. Score myself from 1 (bad day, depression, anxiety), to 3 (moderate issues) to 5 (fantastic day mentally), with five colors. One row every day. Make it a scarf so it’s not a big time constraint.
Do it!! The only thing that would worry me is that it might remind you of your not-so-great days, but hopefully it will be more therapeutic than that. Either way, go for it! Hopefully you see positive progress!
Da tanto placer ver las creaciones de la gente, son muy creativos, yo planteo hacerme una pero de un solo color con un punto sencillo pero que no deje pasar mucho aire para que sea muy calentita.
who else watches these crochet compilations while crocheting, then gets inspired and starts one of the projects in the compilation, then never finishes any projects haha❤❤❤ 😅
This is making me want to do it even tho I can’t focus and easily distracted but it’s something to do plus am off for two weeks for Easter finally a break from school I just finished school two days ago
Okay, I was gonna say that the campfire blanket would be a no for me. It's beautiful, but i'm nut sure I have the patience for it. But I think if the chains were made ahead of time, you could just crochet behind and infrint of the chain to get the same effect? Or at least use a tunisian crochet hook to help pull through a lot of stiches at once.
I’m a novice, so I’m curious. What kind of yarn, pattern, and size hook combo would make for the warmest blanket? I loved at lot of these examples, but when it’s cold and there are relatively large gaps I feel so frustrated! Idk if I’m asking for too much, once again I’m new here lol.
I am a knitter mostly but love to crochet but slow crocheter lol love your work all of it i want to do a big granny scraps or a striped blanket or a c2c scrap i know i am in trouble right most yarn i have is worsted weight my trouble is putting the colors together doing a bubble dish cloth now have so many knitted dish clothes done from Newfoundland Canada
does anyone know where i could order yarn this chunky? ( 8:24 ) Im wanting to hand knit a chunky blanket for cheap, ordering from canada and have a budget of $65
Oh forgot lol i have a container next to me of granny squares so every day i do one or two squares throw them in the container lol never used that blanket yarn might hard on my hands i have arthritis lumps love the kitten adorable
I would never be able to make a temperature blanket because for me it’s finish in a time limit or I can’t do it and my time limit is always a very short span of time 😂😂

Truly
It is so long to make them! But using thick yarn helps. I made a blanket in one day and it was huge!

The best part about crocheting a blanket is that, once it is big enough, you can use it to keep you warm as you finish it. 😆
This is the truth! 🤣🤣

It’s just the classic granny square in different colors. I’m currently doing a similar blanket using only granny squares.
If you have too many chains you can just take them apart and gently pull the end tight when done.
