I'm 26 and feel like I was born in the wrong era. I love motown and soul music like Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, etc. You don't find that kind of soulful songs these days it's rare.
It does but it's no longer about the words, it's about depth. I mean rap was basically people talking to the beat. It’s sentimental, wayyy better than the music being made now, and just so artistic in the sense you can feel the emotion more so in my opinion, in this sort of music. It’s captured in an authentic and stunning way you can’t help but you smile and listen
I'm 26 and feel like I was born in the wrong era. I love motown and soul music like Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, etc. You don't find that kind of soulful songs these days it's rare.

I used to love watching the various groups perform on the Ed Sullivan show. Gladys Knight and the Pips were one of my favorites.
As an adult, I would have dance parties in my living room with my besties. This was ALWAYS one of songs we'd re-enact. I was always The Pips. I know every lyric.
I wanted to be smooth like The Pips. Being Caucasian, uncoordinated, and not able to carry a tune never got in the way of having the time of my life.
